I listened to J Krishnamurti about how we live out of memory, that the remembrance of memories is what makes them appear alive, when thats not a fact, the remembrance of the memory is whats living, the memory itself is dead. The fact is the remembrance. And this is how we live our lives.
I thought it was quite interesting. And it opened up a new perspective and further understanding

There is a very inspiring Israeli teacher Simcha. She had an instant complete self realisation. Yet when I challenged her Zionism she responded as a one sided extremist. So from my decades of cleaning out garbage, I agree that shadows in the character can be held even after apparent death of selfness. I find it strange when people talk of completeness as if we are not continuously evolving.
Yeah my spiritual journey also started after a breakup with my partner of 10 years. I am glad it happened. My past self was so egotistical and I'm glad it shattered his ego, for me to be where I am now. I still have loads of work to do though.
The way i found and feel my true being is beyond any explanation. I feel Full Of Joy! But not like a emotion if not like ANANDOHAM (joy in self). Tears run from the eyes, and i turn to the center again and again! Looking all like actually Is; an expression of my own and great being IM

The problem is that “Knowing” and “Awakening” is still separation. Who or what is knowing? Who or what is awakening? If there is no separate self then there is no one that knows and no one that awakens. Awakening itself implies duality.
These words are used in many different ways. But in terms of what you're referring to: Yes, the separate self can't "awaken" because it's made of thought and ultimately illusory. We could say its "knowing" knowing itself, or "awakeness" awakening to itself.

I am pleased your life has improved but what you are talking about here is not "non duality", its dualism, paths and teachers,. Simple question: if there is "not two" how is it possible for there to be a teacher?
Simple question: if there's "not two", then how is it possible for "you" (the apparent subject), to be asking "me" (the apparent object) this question? The point is, everything is duality. Even the absolutists "There is just what is", or there "It's simply this". "Is" implies "isn't", and "This" implies "That" or "Not This"

nice. wish you were in southern california as you'd make a good friend. good friend defined as someone on a similar wavelength or perspective. i've been pushed into purgatory basically. trying my best to get to heaven. a woman would be a big plus... celibate meditation is anything but a heavenly existence IMO. we've been promised angels in heaven. still waiting on mine.

It depends on who's message you hear, what you're talking about when you say "self", and whether you are talking about what's ultimately true, or relatively true.
