Kamila once again has demonstrated what a talented skater she still is. Two years after the Olympics she has even improved in terms of interpretation and charisma. Her skating is flawless, her jumps and spins absolutely effortless: wow! Her flexibility and her lines are gorgeous as always, a prima ballerina on ice.
@@EleonoreWendt Read about the “doping” that was found in Valieva’s body. he doesn’t give ANYTHING, just read :) And even more so, he didn’t teach her to jump, spin and slide like that. Russian figure skaters are the best in the world and that's a fact.
@anasstassea it's also a fact that Russian figure skaters have been CHEATING by doping since the Sochi Olympics.......just ignoring that fact huh? They just got stripped of the gold for cheating, and Valieva received a 4-year ban, for cheating.........I have ZERO respect for cheating. Period.
Thank you very much for uploading this!! I was watching the women's world championships and was very disappointed. I had to come back here to watch Kamila. She is AMAZING
Wow. Her skating has matured so much. What a difference a few years makes. She is now looking like a a woman and not a child anymore. Her skating is now more refined and powerful and it is not just about her delicate ballet hands and lines in her choreography anymore but her stamina. She must be reaching her peak but that means her Eteri expiry date is looming
She is past the Eteri expiry date, since she is able to skate well with a woman's body without any visible sign of injury. However, the question is whether she can get back her triple Axel and quadruple jumps consistently. Currently her spins are slower than they used to be, and her jumps are lower. Her rotation in the air is also affected by a thicker / more muscular body. Those tiny differences affect her ability to spin and execute quadruple jumps. But given her young age, she still has time to refine her technique and either gain speed or altitude. Note that there are plenty of women skaters capable of executing her jump content, but she still stands out in terms of her artistry, and she can easily beat last year's world podium skaters.
@@MachaLatte123I'm with you. Her exquisite , flexibility, ability to express as a prima ballerina, rhythmic gymnast, & a modern dancer all-in-one make her I feel the best skater I've ever seen in my life and I followed figure skating for 40 years and used to skate. She did say that she needs to cut weight and she's feeling the onus of her growth spurt in height and additional weight. She can definitely cut weight without being emaciated and I think it will help her with her speed and her jumps. Sadly jumps are what win, but her artistry, interpretation, body lines, technique is just phenomenal
@@MachaLatte123 Honestly, all these complex jumps are overrated. Viewers like me can't even understand if the jump was 3 or 4, we just see, if she jumped and landed perfectly, but how many times she spinned around her axis - who cares, really?
@@_Diana_S This is related to amateur competitions that are focused on the technical aspect of figure skating. If all we care is artistry, there are professional events that are more crowd pleasing. Amateur competitions may seem like mostly about jumping, but in reality skating programs have tremendously progressed over the past two decades: more difficult jumps, more difficult spins, more difficult step sequences etc. The evolution of the sports always starts with the technical first. Years ago skaters who can jump quadruple jumps often carried the label of being too much about jumps, but today almost all competitive male skaters can do quadruple jumps without issue and yet still maintain artistry. No one would accuse someone like Yuzuru Hanyu of only being about jumps.
I'm a total novice when it comes to figure skating, but Kamila still looks as elite as ever. But I saw in the World Figure Skating rankings that she's now ranked 40th or 41st in the world. And Shcherbakova is 33rd, I think. Really? There are 39 skaters in the world better than Kamila Valieva? And 30 some skaters better than Anna Shcherbakova? I find that hard to believe. But what do I know.
god i cant believe someone thinks her skate is slow?? maybe, but only compared to her best programme. Just see how complicated the transition is and she didnt even lose any speed after the jump.
Agreed. Nobody has the use of core, arm, leg, hand extensions like she does. Pointed toes, perfect body position, flexibility, musicality, interpretation, artistry and beyond. Yes, she is going through the awkward teenage years. Even still, you can see her incredible ability. I hope she regains her form in the next couple of years as she grows into her body and continues to delight us with her magnificence. She is one of a kind and the most beautiful skater ever
@@Jeremy-wp4yhyou know very well that she is exceptional regardless. If she was drugged, it was not during the olympics. Perhaps it helped with endurance with jumps in training months prior, but what you don't understand or fail to acknowledge is that her jumps are not what make her superior. It is her artistry, flexibility, incredible use of her core, her arm, leg and hand extensions. She could have been a gymnast, a ballerina, a dancer of any kind jazz, modern, doesn't matter. She's that talented. And as I said, look at her junior championship performances. She had only recently be done with Eteri and she was a phenom already, far superior to even her other Russian peers
@@Jeremy-wp4yh Read about the “doping” that was found in Valieva’s body. it doesn’t give ANYTHING, just read :) And even more so, it didn’t teach her to jump, spin and slide like that. Russian figure skaters are the best in the world and that's a fact.
A prima ballerina on ice. If her figure skating career ever ends due to the damage that huge jumps can do, she could certainly transition into ballet. Absolutely exquisite positions
I honestly don't care whether or not she was given performance enhancing drugs at 15, I just hope that whatever the verdict is, it isn't career ending. Presumably all she had to gain from performance enhancing drugs was more stamina (translation: more second-half quads). Her coaches obviously thought she needed this boost to her technical scores. To me, this shows an incredible lack of vision and an incredible stupidity on the part of her handlers, who failed to realize the obvious: that the thing that makes her the GOAT isn't anything that can be enhanced by drugs--it's her prima ballerina-level artistry. Every part of her body is flowing from the same wellspring of storytelling.
The positive result was dated December and the Olympics was in February. Doping is the typical script you'd see from sore losers and their fans who couldn't win anything in their so-called long careers. Kamila could win in 2026 BUT if she could beat the new Russian girls at her post Olympic level. Which is doable but quite a task. Russia has more talent than they know what to do with it.
I totally agree. Whatever PED was found in her system and how it got there is irrelevant to me. Her talent, beauty and artistry were (are) beyond compare. No drug would have enhanced those attributes. She's the most exquisite skater I've ever had the pleasure of watching. She was just flawless. Such a shame about that controversy. I believe her handlers were to blame and she was robbed of the Olympic Gold and her true place at the top of figure skating's royalty.

Compare that to the treatment of Valieva, having also lost hers and skating slower, with all the drugs drama etc.. It's like they pick and choose who to tear down based on the sentiments of the untouchable coaches or whoever else is in "authority" and then the judges and public audience follow with the abuse. I hope all of these kids turn out ok. It's a system.
She still trains with Tutberidze. Kamila said it herself that she loves her coach and everything is good between them. And about doping, it’s no one’s fault, because Trimetazidine was part of the “Methionine” that the Kamila drank (it is prescribed for liver disease or protein deficiency), but was not listed on the package.
@@vampireshful The investigation dragged on for almost a year.
