I know my friends with slightly oily skin have less wrinkles than me. I have severely dry skin, and I have more wrinkles. I don't have a lot because I take care of my skin.
I'm 35 and when i found you, i fell in love. You're direct honest and quick without too much chit-chat. I love your maturity and the way you explain things. Sometimes my hubby walks by and he is like, oh boy, what do you need now?, 😂 he is just joking, i think he gets me more makeup than what i buy😅
Hi, I am Lena from Sweden, I think you are great, in all aspects :) I am 58, and have got some blood vessels in my face, I try to "hide" them with different concealers etc...but I wonder if you please can show some trix or products in a video how to hide those vessels. Thanks alot
I am almost two decades your senior but always leave with a nugget of gold from your videos. Sadly, the SG e/s palette is on backorder. The lovely sweet late Mel Thompson introduced me to SG. Thank you for sharing your tips!
Nikki La Rose sent me here (from a previous live)! Happy to be a new subscriber of yours. I love learning from more seasoned women’s wisdom (35yo and counting). The changes have been happening-and rapidly. Thank you for helping us feel our most beautiful, at any age, but esp as we grow into the second half of our lives. I agree with just about everything you’d shared! PS. 50?! WHERE?!
You crossed over to shadow sticks, yay! They are great when you don't have a lot of time or you do. Thank you for always being in the positive that people over 50 can still wear shimmers. I love that you encourage all makeup for any age, that's how it should be. Looks like you got your air conditioning fixed...😄💚
A great classic neutral type eyeshadow palette that I’m hooked on is Charlotte Tilbury’s Sophisticate palette. I use it with a brown liner and brown mascara so that it’s not a harsh look (fair skin here)!
I’ll be 61 in October and I purchased the City Lips when they had a sale about a year ago and was very disappointed in how thick and sticky it is. I couldn’t use it. I bought the clear. It did nothing for my lips! I agree that the Lumify is a game changer. I put drops in every morning before my contacts. Never go a day without! It’s fantastic!👍🏻💓
Fantastic recommendations! Julep also makes great, affordable cream eye shadow sticks in matte, shimmer and metallic shades. Another wonderful Tocca fragrance is Florence. I’ll have to try their Giulietta scent!
I'm in my sixties now and still oily. I tried the Maybelline skin tint today and I was amazed. I was concerned that it would emphasize texture and be too shiny but I was shocked. Seven hours later and it still looks good, like skin. I also use the No7 powder under my eyes.
I love the maybelline fit me pressed powder. I 40 and use it as my foundation and it gives just the right amount of coverage. my friend who's 30 uses the loose powder and it looks amazing on her
I just wanted to come back to this video and say how much I appreciate you. I’m 37 and I’ve watched beauty videos for years but never really found anyone I connect with and trust their recommendations. I’ve been using several products you’ve recommended and I couldn’t be happier. It’s so wonderful to get a trusted opinion and not waste so much time and money trying so many products to find something of good quality. As someone that mostly goes for high end products I also appreciate when you point out when we don’t have to spend a ton for a great product. I’m using the IRL concealer now and it’s excellent. I’m currently waiting for the Sydney Grace palette to come in the mail. It’s my first time trying their products. I knew I had to have it when you showed it. Thanks again for the hard work to test and let us know about great products and tips. ❤
Such a great and informative video. Love that you also include products with lower price points. Charlotte Tilbury is way out of my price range. Thanks for ALL the tips.
Hi Risa I had already posted a comment a month ago, but I just wanted to tell you again that you're the best! Honestly, I've watched almost ALL of your videos. I'm 56 but lately I look more like 66....I've had 3 spine surgeries to correct a pinched sciatic nerve & several collapsed vertebrae, compression fractures & corroded discs so at the moment my face is just a reflection of pain; Pain that started Jan. 1st of this year and it's been constant. Not one single pain-free day. On drugs for eight months and he says it may be a year before I feel normal again so your videos are a constant source of JOY & Inspiration to me. Thank You! 😘
Hi Risa. You mentioned Maybelline Forever Fit powder. Im 54 with sensitive dry skin. Never had to use foundation but now that I'm older, I need to even out my skin a bit. Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Dewy and Smooth is perfect and affordable. Thank you so much to you and your colleagues for all the education you give w/ regards to products, application and color. It's a fun but daunting topic. So necessary. Cheers! xo
Thank you for the great video Risa! I would love you to talk about not only formulas that work on mature skin, but also especially with eyeshadow palettes what you would consider essential for a color range. I realize that people like different things, but I think there are some really important basic colors to have for sculpting and I and creating depth and dimension. Thank you so much.
I’ve just turned 62 and just gone back to using my no7 powder , I forgot how good it is definitely blurs my pores more than the loose powders and thankyou for all your fantastic informative videos for the over 50s it’s much appreciated ❤
I use to HATE oily skin but now that I’m in my early 40’s I’m grateful. Reason being it kept me from being wrinkled. I’m a smoker as well which should mean my skin would be really wrinkled but thank goodness I’m not. Thanks for the info Risa.
OK I have absolutely ridiculously dry under eyes and I have fallen head over heels in love with that IRL revolution concealer, and my skin is unbelievably dry and with the proper I think that makes a difference because I do prep my skin very well with a glowing sunscreen and primers. Of course I do a extensive skin care routine in the morning. But I use the mailings content and I love that stuff so much for reference I am 42
Im oily and i love loreal infalible fresh wear and true match serum foundations, rare beauty liquid blushes, maybelline tattoo cream shadow, especially on the bronze colour, also lancome all over concealer, for brows nyx thin pencil and thick it stick it gel, i just discover talc free, translucent Catrice powder ❤❤❤
I Love Sydney Grace and I really want that palette! They are underrated, Ive bought many singles of their shadows and curated my own palettes. Lumify drops are a HG at my house. Expensive lol but Worth it. 1 Drop is all you need so it does last a while.
You got me to try the Catrice concealer and I'm embarrassed to say, it works on me better than my lovely Pat McGrath! In fact, it works better than all my others. Geeze. Was it 6 or 8 bucks?
I'm 38 and am new to your videos, but I love them. I have hodded eyes, oily eyes, but also just not an expert by any means so I appreciate your reviews and tutorials.
I’m 36 and I wish I had started taking of my skin sooner. I’m oily so we can relate. And I love Sydney Grace! I just ordered 4 Sydney Grace pallets for $8/piece. Great price and I can’t wait for them to get here.
Great video! I have Estee Lauder Futurist and have been wearing it for 2 years. It lasts a long time. It is a life saver foundation for ones of us on RX tretinoin and have drier skin. The derm's office changed my strength at my request to Altreno tretinoin .5 so it has gotten more normal and yesterday I bought the Georgio Armani Lumunious Glow foundation. It has a softer glow & I loved the ease of applying this morning. Estee Lauder Futurist has full blown glow & takes 30 minutes to dry down on me. I will continue to use both since I have gotten so many compliments on the EL . You can't miss with either one if you are over 50! Excellent products!
I really enjoy your videos Risa I am 36 about to be 37 and I am noticing a little difference in my skin then I had been prior being a little younger and so I really enjoy really wear makeup or used too much skin care but I do have very clear skin which is good so I do enjoy the things that you suggest for a really people of all ages but I do enjoy that you have thought through things that will work better for people with mature skin so that gives me a lot more peace of mind and I would have never thought a long time ago to about eye lash primer
I was so disappointed to learn boots stores in the uk have discontinued the number 7 lift and illuminate pressed setting powder I wear the foundation and will be ordering the ct now needs must xx
Hi Risa, I am 58 in 3 days, and I have dry skin now, I love the maybelline skin tint, but here in Australia, we do not have as many colours as you do, Like you, I bought 2 shades, as the first one I got was too yellow, the second one was too light lol. I have mixed the two, I also use the same concealer, Not that I use one very often. I use the IRL from revolution.
I agree with most of your essentials, and I appreciate the thought and care you put into this list. My ophthalmologist doesn’t want me to use whitening drops, because I have very dry eyes. An MUA many, many years ago taught me to use a blue liner for, what we now call, tightlining. According to her, dark navy won’t work. There has to be some obvious blue color for it to brighten the whites. One of my favorites is the NYX Gypsy Blue liner. Their Deep Blue would work well for people with darker coloring. Light blues look strange when tightlined, but they can help when worn on the waterline. NYX Chill Blue works well for that for people with fair to medium skin. I don’t have experience with using this technique on darker skin tones. Sorry. I can’t use fragrances. So my pick in its place is mascara, but I’m tempted to suggest false lashes instead. I’m not talking about long, full, obvious lashes even though they can be fun for special occasions. I like the Ardell Naked Lashes line. They have everything from subtle to full. My favorite is 420. In their Natural line, my favorite is 110. My purpose in wearing them is to add fullness to my sparse lashes. Risa, you’re the best example of how falsies lift your look from blah to wow and the best teacher for how to apply lashes. Once you get the hang of applying them, it’s not at all difficult. It just takes some practice.
I have City Lips gloss on my lips 24 hours a day on its own or over lipstick. I’ve never found such an effective, smoothing, moisturizing gloss. It’s an absolute game changer. Perfect gloss for healthy lips.
Loved this! And got some new ideas now! I’d like to add for us still oily, that those little blotting tissues are great for absorbing extra oily area shine but they don’t lift the makeup. Love em 👍🏼
I'm totally with you on the the powders. I just got the Charlotte Tilbury pressed powder last week and I will be ordering it for life! My favorite drug store one is the same too but I'll definitely be reaching for my CT most. Also love City Lips. I used to buy SO many overnight lip masks but now I just put the clear lip gloss on at night. I haven't had chapped lips in years. I love the Charlotte Tilbury eye sticks. They are so SO good. Been watching you for years and years. I'm 41 and I feel so much more confident with your tips tricks and product reviews. I feel like I'm ahead of the curb I suppose. ❤️
I ❤ your content!! I just discovered the Hourglass powder and it is phenomenal for under the eye and face. It doesn’t make the under eyes look creepy and it seems to make my mature skin look flawless.
Risa!! I've been watching your vids for a few years now..I truly notice your kind, peaceful spirit, and it really speaks volumes! I can truly see that you love what you do and I'm very passionate and honest about the products that you review.... We need more of you in the beauty community! XOXO
I am so grateful for you and the content you put out! I have the exact same coloring as you so most of your shades work for me as well. I want to thank you for the Catrice concealer recommendation! I LOVE it!! It’s thin but has great coverage yet doesn’t make my under eye area look dry and wrinkled. I also have oily skin at 55 years old. I’m a flight attendant and can NOT live without Lumify! Thank you for your tips and knowledge!
We have the same skin color and oily skin and are close in age and I second what you said here. The Maybelline skin tint I have been telling everybody about that is excellent! I tried the Natasha Denona concealer shocked works excellent. Maybelline fit me powder is my under eye jam 🎉 Great recommendations ❤
I’m 50 and light/ medium coloring and absolutely love my Charlotte Tilbury Super Nudes palette. Perfect for day or night simple day look or fussy evening look. Definitely worth the $$$. And I can’t live without the pressed powder. It kills me the cost but nothing compares.
Omg Risa!! The lipliner hack was magical! I was doing my makeup as I watched and did the lipliner technique!!! Woo hoo! You saved me girl!!! My lips look like this 👄🔥🔥
Lovely video! Watching as I’m getting ready to go out to dinner. Thanks for the Lumify tip. I have some, but forget to use it. I just used it and am now bright-eyed! What a difference 😁
I have dry skin and I love the super stay skin tint, I just prep well, or use the flawless filter underneath. It’s so beautiful and lasts all day. Also 45 yrs old
Good morning Risa! I think this is a great video thank you. And today is my 57th birthday and I so appreciate all the advice I can get! To you… welcome to the 50 club! Lol ❤
Very informative Risa! Thank you! I'm sure that everyone could find a pointer or two for their own benefit! Have a great weekend and hope that your AC is on the mend by now!
I just bought this last week and for a first I got the right color lol. I’ve used it alone, with the Physhians glow in a bit darker color and no marred how I’ve used it I LOVE IT!!!
This was Soooo good! ❤❤❤❤ thank you, Risa. Many of your recommendations will be in my possession soon lol 🇨🇦. P.S. I really think your empathy and understanding of others is so lovely.
I hated my oily skin too. However, i just turned 63 and im so grateful i had (yes, had) oily skin. I get so many compliments on my skin today. My secret tool was carrying a Bounty paper towel folded in my purse! Blot, blot, blot. Lol
Hey Risa, great video & thought I'd mention your link to Morphe for the P.Louise primer no longer works. I see so many creators love that & didn't know where to buy from so thats a bummer. Another bummer is that No.7 pressed powder has now been reformulated & cheaply IMO repackaged (from a chic all metal case) & is not as amazing as the original. The old one WAS really like Charlotte Tilbury too !Don't know why they changed such a truly loved cult classic.
I used to hate my oily skin but now that I’m 46 and actually look 33-35, I’m happy about it. People are shocked when I tell them my age, cuz I still get carded! So greatfull!
I just turned 40 and I love your videos and I wish my skin could look like yours at your age :) that's why I like to follow up with your recommendations ;)
Thanks for all the information you provide and for including information relevant for mature skin. I am fast approaching 60. I want to make sure that I am doing all I can to keep my skin healthy. I learn so much from your videos ❤
I was quite amused when you said your mother didn’t like using a lip pencil. I am 71 and have used a lip pencil/liner ever since I began wearing lipstick! I think I was 15 then and have used a lip pencil since then!
Outstanding video Risa, you basically covered everything and everyone with your knowledge and expertise in the makeup industry, to help one get a makeup kit put together whatever age, I can’t leave home without putting perfume on, I’ll carry a little bottle in my handbag just in case I do forget to put some on when I’m in a hurry to get out the door…!!! :) ❤❤ Pretty 😍 as always.
I agree that the Charlotte tilbury airbrush powder is amazing. It really does smooth skin... BUT... I have very oily skin too, and also quite large pores on my chin & cheeks, and I find the powder settles in the larger pores and looks like I've got little dots all over my chin in particular and cheeks to a lesser extent. I still use it but my true favourite is the Hourglass loose powder, that doesn't settle into pores and does airbrush fairly well and it's got something extra, a little luminosity - not shiny or sparkly just beautiful. My favourite cheap drug store one is the Flower pressed powder, it's so good for $7 (Australian dollars).
Oily skin is actually a blessing. I’m 65 and have a bit of oily skin….great for not getting wrinkles
Same for me at 60!
I know my friends with slightly oily skin have less wrinkles than me. I have severely dry skin, and I have more wrinkles. I don't have a lot because I take care of my skin.
Especially in Nevada where it's super dry!!!!
Me, dry skin gal at age 43 reading your comment 😭😭😭😭😭…
Sure is! I'm grateful for my combo skin, I'll be 62 in a few weeks!
Spot on, Risa! You CAN wear shimmer eyeshadow! I'm 64 and wear it on my increasingly hooded, increasingly droopy eyes and it looks fantastic.
PS. 50?! WHERE?!
I adore Nikki. She's such a doll.
Preach it girl!! I'm wearing shimmers until the day I die! ❤
I really like your painted natural nails v. press ons. They look more natural and elegant. Thank you Risa!
This was one of the most interesting and informative videos I have watched… thx for taking the time to address us that are 50 plus.
Fantastic recommendations! Julep also makes great, affordable cream eye shadow sticks in matte, shimmer and metallic shades. Another wonderful Tocca fragrance is Florence. I’ll have to try their Giulietta scent!
I am so glad I recommended the Maybelline Skin Tint to you. I thought it work beeautifuly on your skin. Now I will finish watching your video ❤.
I 40 and use it as my foundation and it gives just the right amount of coverage. my friend who's 30 uses the loose powder and it looks amazing on her
Risa, I laughed out loud when you said Crypt Keeper. So funny, Anyway, I enjoyed the video. So informative as usual.
Im 38, and love your picks! Thank you for these suggestions!
I just wanted to come back to this video and say how much I appreciate you. I love the Catrice foundation and it’s so cheap with great coverage!!
Such a great and informative video. Love that you also include products with lower price points. Charlotte Tilbury is way out of my price range. Thanks for ALL the tips.

The Neutrogena sensitive skin serum foundation is really good! Like a skin tint!

I turned 36 yesterday and I love watching ur videos!
I'm 38 and am new to your videos, but I love them. I have hodded eyes, oily eyes, but also just not an expert by any means so I appreciate your reviews and tutorials.
I like make up forever pressed powder. Its a banana color. When I wear it, get tons of compliments.
I am 51 and have oily skin. And I would rather have oily skin than dry skin. I think it is a blessing also.😊
Thanks Rosa I ❤all your videos . Thanks for talking about shimmer ,as I am mid 50s and love shimmering eyeshadows😊
I’m 36 and I wish I had started taking of my skin sooner. I’m oily so we can relate. And I love Sydney Grace! I just ordered 4 Sydney Grace pallets for $8/piece. Great price and I can’t wait for them to get here.

I never knew that about lip lining. Thank you! I was doing clown lips so I never used it.
Hi Risa, please don’t lie to us! There’s noooo way you’re above 30 years old! So beautiful and gracious! Thanks for your videos.😍

Thank you for answering my question.I was afraid to wear shimmer eyeshadow because I am so old🤣but I am going to try now!
I don’t think I can bring myself to wear shimmering anything 😅
I have City Lips gloss on my lips 24 hours a day on its own or over lipstick. I’ve never found such an effective, smoothing, moisturizing gloss. It’s an absolute game changer. Perfect gloss for healthy lips.
I'm in my early 30s but love your videos. I love the rare beauty shadow sticks
I still need to try city lips!! 💋

I ❤ your content!! I just discovered the Hourglass powder and it is phenomenal for under the eye and face. It doesn’t make the under eyes look creepy and it seems to make my mature skin look flawless.
I'm 57 and have oily skin, keeps the wrinkles at bay, even though oily skin can sometimes be dehydrated. ❤❤❤😊
Risa you are so beautiful for 50! You look amazing, I would say 40-45 tops! You take very good care of yourself 😊👍 This was a great video Risa!
Risa!! I've been watching your vids for a few years now..I truly notice your kind, peaceful spirit, and it really speaks volumes! I can truly see that you love what you do and I'm very passionate and honest about the products that you review.... We need more of you in the beauty community! XOXO
When I tell you I placed my order for City Lips so fast my fingers were smoking 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Oily skin is the best, I'm a beauty therapist and your skin doesn't age. I love Maybelline instant age rewind. Just gorgeous!!!!!
Love a shadow stick! Hey milanis guilded ones are great drugstore!!
Always great tips and tricks from you gurl💕💖Thanks love💋✨🫶🏻
I'm 29 and I love your videos I watch them all! You always look fabulous and recommend some great products! 💖
Omg Risa!! The lipliner hack was magical! I was doing my makeup as I watched and did the lipliner technique!!! Woo hoo! You saved me girl!!! My lips look like this 👄🔥🔥
Yay!!! 🎊🥰
Thank you Risa for listening to your subscribers for changing the background into white! Love it 💕🥰
Lovely video! Watching as I’m getting ready to go out to dinner. Thanks for the Lumify tip. I have some, but forget to use it. I just used it and am now bright-eyed! What a difference 😁
Hi Risa did I miss your mascara recommendations? I love Tocca fragrance too. The reed diffusers are so good for home fragrance, too.
I have dry skin and I love the super stay skin tint, I just prep well, or use the flawless filter underneath. It’s so beautiful and lasts all day. Also 45 yrs old
Hi Risa love your videos! Not all the make up brands you use are available here in South Africa, bit i still enjoy the tutorials and tips
Thank you Risa for sharing brilliant ideas see you soon ❤
This was Soooo good! ❤❤❤❤ thank you, Risa. Many of your recommendations will be in my possession soon lol 🇨🇦. P.S. I really think your empathy and understanding of others is so lovely.
welcome to the 50 club lol I was wondering if you could possibly do the same video but with cruelty free options? Thanks Risa xo
Oh I'd love to try those shadow sticks. In general they're awesome! Thanks for being age-inclusive in your videos!
I hated my oily skin too. However, i just turned 63 and im so grateful i had (yes, had) oily skin. I get so many compliments on my skin today.
My secret tool was carrying a Bounty paper towel folded in my purse! Blot, blot, blot. Lol
I love the tocca fragrances as well. Thanks risa for the recommendations. I always enjoy your reviews and find your suggestions work well for me.
I prime my eyelids with urban decay waterproof setting powder with my fingertips, my lids are oily, they’re wet… it works for me.
I love everything you recommend for our makeup bags. Mine also needs a magnification mirror!!
Ditto!! It’s a struggle for sure! 😂
You always look so fresh and beautiful 😊
I truly admire your courage and talent. You're an online inspiration to me!
I love your videos!!! I'm so excited to learn how to do my make up as beautiful as yours😁. Thank U so much!!! 🙏💜😇
I appreciate all the tips you shared. 💗
I'm so glad you featured City Beauty. I'm 80 and have used several of their products for several years. My lips are too dry for matte.
I love all your videos. I’m 39 but love everything you recommend!
Thank you for this video! I'm older than you, Risa, and I'll be wearing shimmers forever! Love you videos!
I have very dry under eyes and I love the IRL
Thank you for all your videos! My City Lips products are on their way!
Happy birthday!!! You look great!
