I saw Fuzzbox on MTV's "120 Minutes" growing up. I had this album on cassette and took it everywhere with me. I was 11 years old! Love Fuzzbox... so glad this is here.

Number 31 in the UK chart in mid-to-lateish November 1986. One recent morning I got up to find a large slug on the kitchen floor. Nearly squished it by accident with bare feet. I got a piece of junk mail from the recyc to put underneath it. It looked at me imploringly with its stalk-mounted eyes as I carried it to the front door and lobbed it ouside.

Me favourite Fuzzbox song. I prefer this early stuff (not keen on Pink Sunshine or International Rescue) and think they looked better, before they went commercialised and became more conventional - although I can certainly understand why they did that - they obviously wanted big chart success (which they would never have got originally as they were too alternative for mainstream success) and it certainly worked.

Id only read about them in Star/Smash Hits but they are the perfect look and sound of post-punk. Punk sound, goth styles with bright colors.

I love the campiness of her drum playing. None of them were good musicians but they made fun of that instead of trying to hide it.

Watching this on Night Tracks in Redmond Washington...this was moment I first heard punk rock...it showed all the punk rock going crazy back then in DC and I just think...wow these girls kick ass.. loved their style. First punk rock band I liked

@@mikekaraoke US. I never hear it anywhere. Except it came up on youtube a month ago or so, and it took me right back. So many songs from that era get played on the 80’s channels and many more don’t. There were many hits in my world that were not in the larger world.
I think it’s pretty common. I completely forgot about this until it showed up in my feed randomly.

I remember hearing them back in the late 80s but it's a bummer to see that this band is still active. Fuzz Box has good music but I always say that it takes away spark when a band doesn't know when to stay broken up. There's only a limited window a certain type of band should be active, and know when to put the band to sleep and keep it that way. This is why I respect The Sundays, The Smiths, and other bands that knew when to keep their band's great legacy intact by not coming back in their 50s, 60s for a money grab, and dragging their band's sound and image through the mud.
used to see them in and around moseley bham and kingsheath ,and in folks homes that had muso jam sessions later on ocean colour scene and dodgy allso members of ub40 used to come and go,great times going to hear the local bands play in the hare n hounds in kings heath some very very good bands that never made it ,memory serves right this video was filmed in the rum runner in parts,were duran duran was the house band a few years before

I had a crush on Mags as a teenager. I had no idea Jo died until reading your comment. We've Got A Fuzzbox And We're Gonna Use It (in my opinion) paved the way for the likes of Spice Girls and I don't remember reading or hearing about her passing. RIP Jo
I always had a thing for girls with shorter hair, so I was into Jo and Tina when the girls had their Top of the Pops days.
Poor Jo, it was about 2012 I think. She was diagnosed with cancer and gone within a few weeks. Poor darling didn't even have time to fight it properly. Only just turned 40 iirc. 😢😢
@@miserablemozz8714 Oh yeah I liked Tina, I preferred Fuzzbox in their Love Is The Slug days. I still watch their live gig on Whistle Test every so often. Jo was only a year or so older than me. I'm glad she had fun being in a band with her mates thumbng her nose at the world. Devastating she never stood a chance in her final weeks
@Last & First Agreed, my first exposure to the band was through Annie Nightingale and John Peel playing Rocking With Rita which got me hunting down all the acts on Vindaloo, but it was the girls who stood out (obviously, give that I was 15!) Happy days.

Maggie said in a recent interview with Jan Doyle that the Fuzz Pedal they were named after was a Big Muff. Given the timeline of the band, I would hazard a guess it was an early 80's op-amp Big Muff. Hope that helps.

I was complaining about Love is the Drug (Grace Jones' version) this week, that I am just not a Bryan Ferry fan at all...and couldn't he just be fake somewhere else (the rest of roxy music is crucial, but he's an imposter, look at him in the clothes - awful) then I realized, without Love is the Drug, we don't get THIS ABSOLUTE GEM
