I have a question, and it will probably sound dumb. Can Marine pilots serve on carriers? I know they served on the Tarawa, Wasp, etc., but do they serve in carrier air wings? Or fly helicopters in carrier air squadrons? Please don't roast me too hard in the replies LOL.

So, and I’m just gonna use a simple example, if the Carl Vinson has four 12 plane fighter squadrons, it could be 3 Navy and 1 Marine but they would most likely be all F-18 squadrons I assume? My grandpa was on the Saratoga in WWII, so I’ve always loved studying carriers. Thanks again and hope you and your family have a great Memorial Day!

The Air Force Academy came in, all together in step, in unison. That is a mark of a military UNIT. I found this graduation lacking those finest skills learned after 4 years. Yes, this is a time to relax. You passed your tests. BUT MILITARY DECORUM NEVER GOES OUT OF STYLE AT A MILITARY ACADEMY GRADUATION.

Yes they can if their air wing is assigned. They must serve in their USMC air wing.
