Good demo. I also have the new Bose flex and the mini 2. I like the sound of both of them. The mini seems basier at low volume but the flex sounds over all clearer.

Does the flex do as good a job with rich sound or is it “brighter” due to size?
I use the small Bluetooth speakers mostly at night, low to (very low...) volumes, awesome full range with plenty of bass but not boomy/boingo, the mini II is unbeatable at that, for very loud moments/parties and the likes you need larger size speakers anyway (and budgets...)

Nice! & yeah the one linked in the description box has the updated ports with USB-C instead of the older mini USB version. I believe that's the only difference.

@@TaisToiRQ I've heard it happens quite alot, its a shame as the larger marshall speakers are excellent. I just received the flex today, it's much better than the emberton.
The Flex sounds better on its back imo. I believe there is a treble boost and bass roll off that makes it sound less muddy and more bright on its back. It hard tell in a YT video, but in person it is noticeable. It’s most noticeable on songs with snare drums and cymbals.
Glad you did the sound test on the Bose soundlink mini and the newer Bose flex. I like to keep the mini beside my bed pillow listening to the bass throbs at a low level. The flex has that sound correction eq, so I keep it beside the bed on a table. Both of them have their place. I like them both equally.
I have both the sound link mini and mini 2. The flex uses the same speakers as the mini 2. The mini 2 also uses the same speakers as the original mini. That said, when conparing both the original and 2nd soundlink mini, the original sounds a lot clearer and bass heavy. I believe it has to do with power delivery. The 2nd mini uses a smaller battey and I'm assuming it can't output the same wattage. The original could only charge from the charging dock or a proprietary connector like a laptop. The 2nd mini could charge from the charging dock OR the mini-usb port. The mini 2 special edition uses a similar battey as the 2nd gen mini but has usb-c, and extra software. The special edition sounds even softer with comparred to my mini 2, which means they probably lowered the wattage output to gain battey life. I believe the flex uses a larger battey pack and better power delivery which makes it larger, but gives it the same audio profile as the original mini while keeping a longer battery life. I love both of my minis. Since they are small and "cup" size, I use the original mini on my bike cupholder since it gives more volume. I use the mini 2 at home as a computer soundbar. They are still sounding great and would recommend them for their durability and compact size.

The mini2 does feel much better in your hands though, it feels more substantial, but let's not forget how crap the battery is in the 2 aswell and they made it impossible to change the battery without soldering, while that's fine for myself it's an absolute pain in the but. The first soundlink mini was much better in that regard. And it looks like the flex isn't user serviceable either and there's no excuse for it other than greed.
