    The mini sounded less muffled and clearer, I may be biased because I owned the SE as well, the mini is a top notch Bluetooth speaker even after all these years, just perfect in every sense, especially the bullet proof all metal body construction.

    I've seen the whole video and listened but i only had the opportunity to try the SoundLink mini 2 special edition so i was about to order it when someone recommend me the flex and started searching
    Still with doubts , I'll only use it indoor . What I don't like about other brands is that bass is crap , thats why Bose won my heart (ears)
    So, what should I buy, flex or the classic mini ? Thanks

    Anyone have a preference? I was thinking about another mini (my son has been using mine) but Costco has the flex for $20 off. I am looking for the most natural sound, which the mini produces well. Does the flex do as good a job with rich sound or is it “brighter” due to size?

    I use the small Bluetooth speakers mostly at night, low to (very low...) volumes, awesome full range with plenty of bass but not boomy/boingo, the mini II is unbeatable at that, for very loud moments/parties and the likes you need larger size speakers anyway (and budgets...)

    The Flex sounds better on its back imo. I believe there is a treble boost and bass roll off that makes it sound less muddy and more bright on its back. It hard tell in a YT video, but in person it is noticeable. It’s most noticeable on songs with snare drums and cymbals.

  • @cesarpalmos8235
    @cesarpalmos8235 Год назад +10

    I have both the sound link mini and mini 2. The flex uses the same speakers as the mini 2. The mini 2 also uses the same speakers as the original mini. That said, when conparing both the original and 2nd soundlink mini, the original sounds a lot clearer and bass heavy. I believe it has to do with power delivery. The 2nd mini uses a smaller battey and I'm assuming it can't output the same wattage. The original could only charge from the charging dock or a proprietary connector like a laptop. The 2nd mini could charge from the charging dock OR the mini-usb port. The mini 2 special edition uses a similar battey as the 2nd gen mini but has usb-c, and extra software. The special edition sounds even softer with comparred to my mini 2, which means they probably lowered the wattage output to gain battey life. I believe the flex uses a larger battey pack and better power delivery which makes it larger, but gives it the same audio profile as the original mini while keeping a longer battery life. I love both of my minis. Since they are small and "cup" size, I use the original mini on my bike cupholder since it gives more volume. I use the mini 2 at home as a computer soundbar. They are still sounding great and would recommend them for their durability and compact size.

    After owning the first mini, the second mini and now the flex, the flex with it's one speaker has surprised me if I'm honest. I've only just got it so I haven't compared the mini 2, but I know the flew is certainly much louder, better for house parties, beach parties and such. But I'm getting the feeling the mini will sound better for the likes of watching movies, but I'm yet to find out, but this single speaker in the flex is pretty cool, it's not what I'd have picked for myself but I'll certainly accept it as a gift😛
    Nevermind, I just checked, the flex is definitely better, it's not just clearer, it's also more balanced and fuller. There's actually no need for stereo in something this size unless you're sitting 1-2ft directly Infront the mini 2 watching a movie on a phone/tablet. But the flex is better. The mini2 does feel much better in your hands though, it feels more substantial, but let's not forget how crap the battery is in the 2 aswell and they made it impossible to change the battery without soldering, while that's fine for myself it's an absolute pain in the but. The first soundlink mini was much better in that regard. And it looks like the flex isn't user serviceable either and there's no excuse for it other than greed. Don't let anyone tell you a hatch with a gasket to keep the IP rating isn't possible. It absolutely is. The public are capable of handling batteries😂 a few simple security torx screws to keep out the absolute idiots and you're laughing.

    I think the bass is reduced a little when the speaker lays flat. I believe bose says to ensure your table doesn’t rattle, the backward firing passive radiator is not going.

    Just found the soundlink mini first model from '13 .....for $5 @ a pawn shop.....that's probably what it's worth ....but I like 👍 it for the size.....and in the corner of a bedroom sounds great....

    I have my original Bose SoundLink Mini 2 and it’s still a great sounding device. They still sell it but with an updated USB-C port! Flex looks great but I don’t like that flap for hanging. Wish Bose wasn’t all about “outdoors” with weird handles and straps.

      You could cut it off, for me it looks pretty useful

      Flex doesn’t have aux so you can’t have a dawless jam with it

    Hi. Great review. What is the media app you use to link two different BT spaeakers

    • @NateMatthews
      @NateMatthews  2 года назад

      The one I used is not an app. It's a built in feature in my Samsung Note device. Bose version is called Bose Connect but that didn't work for me.

    bose flex is mono speaker only. mini 2 is stereo. samey price. big difference. soundlink mini 2 is best.

    • @NateMatthews
      @NateMatthews  2 года назад +1

      The links in the video description show the prices are NOT the same.
      Also, one is water resistant & the other isn't. "Best" would be dependent on its use.
