- My favorite version of this song. I've always thought this version of Wilco was the best as it was roots rock steady with a flair. In my opinion and though I still love Wilco, they have become a wee bit "prog".
For me with Jay Bennett (RIP) they were at their best. Still love them but this is the best lineup.
Never heard a bad version of this song
jay what a talent, great on guitar, great on Keys, you're missed...
Fantastic version, fantastic Jay Bennett.
Rest in Peace Jay...
Leroy Bach on the keys, Jay rocking out. Completely different band back then. They're still my favorite band, but I sometimes long for the old school lineup. RIP Jay.
L O V E this! ( And again, RIP Jay Bennett!)
Loved the Fender jazz bass groove, nice sound over all
Thanks a ton for posting this! This one of the greatest songs in the American songbook!!!
This is their best line-up in my opinion.
"yes i'd give my life..." roots... best... RIP Jay Bennett
Sorry, but I would kill for this version of Wilco to be still around.
JP, Jonathon Parker. Guitar tech for a few of the tours. They used to let him sing things like Paranoid, Ziggy Stardust, and Immigrant Song during the encores from time to time...
Bennett's guitar was so thick, he had a sound for sure. I don't know why, but the casual scene of "how to fight loneliness" in the "I'm trying to break your heart" dvd is one of my fav wilco moments. I love his guitar in that. Even if he did look like Ms. Piggy
SOOOO Relaxing!!!!
Beautiful!
I JUST LOVE IT ! EXCELLENT BEAT !
RIP Jay
I saw Jeff Tweedy the other night on "Colbert" and wow--has he put on weight!
I watch this every now and then because of Jay Bennett living large....
