The width of the paper should be half of the paper used for the bottle. Eg: for a 18cm x 18cm bottle, use 9cm x 9cm

Is regular origami paper too thin and should i use a thicker paper? The color of my paper wears off a little at the folds so would a thicker paper help this?
Regular origami paper is ok too. The problem with the color is probably related to the quality of the paper

Ok so I’ve done the math: The bottle that he made was an 18x18 paper. The cork is 15x15. Therefore the paper should be 6:5. If the paper of the bottle is 20x20, then the size of the cork paper should be 16.66 cm, or I guess 16.5 I think, so around that size
Edit: Nevermind, it turns out that in the description it says just use half the width for the cork, so 20x20 bottle would be 10x10 cork. :(

I made
bottle: 15cm ✕ 15cm
cork: 8.5cm ✕ 8.5cm
then fit.
