Can you please make a video advising on the British Nationality (Irish citizens) act 2024.
I am an Irish national living in the UK, I qualify and want to apply for a UK citizenship, but would rather not do the life in the UK test, and this Act holds promsises to waiver and the test for Irish nationals. However, it is not yet in force.
Could you please recommend if it is worth waiting for it to come into force? (Potentially at lower costs too).

Most of the European Union got rid of birthright citizenship some time ago with Ireland being one of the last to do so. I think the current rules are fairer as your citizenship is now based on merit rather than someone coming to the country, having a baby, and then claiming Irish citizenship for them and the child. It's a form of queue jumping that the Irish ended by referendum. It's interesting that Trump goes on and on about illegal immigration when one of the biggest holes in US immigration policy is the fact that they still have birthright citizenship. For example if a woman enters the United States illegally and then has a baby there she can then apply for US citizenship through her US born baby.
