For me, since I have long arms, I used to dip for body shots but that tendency got a bit exposed by uppercuts. I learned the hard way that dipping only do avoid body shots was not the only thing to do, moving and distorting the angle was key to avoid retaliation during a combination sequence. Subtle footwork would allow you to leave a danger zone with minimal contact and damage. Boxing is so complex and I have so much respect for professionals. I got into it quite late at 26 and was going through a hardship and settled for a steady paycheck. Big balls are needed to be a champ. Big up to all that have the fortitude to excel.
My first sparring session, I was so giddy. I had no expectations to do well because I was still so fresh, but each time I sparred with this kid I learned more about how to go after him. Miss going to those classes, miss sparring with him.

Oh no. At the risk of sounding like an elitist this sounds horrible in English. What did they do to Takamura's voice?! 😢😭

Me:my master is name ippo
Bro is that A Train
One of the best shows ever. Some of the worst voice acting ever in the dub.
hajime is amazing, but man I HATE the dubs. Gotta go with subs, the japanese voice actors are sooooo much better.
