    Interesting review. The swift may have hard plastics, but suzuki has invested a lot on costly high tensile steel for lightness and reliable mechanicals. Some manufacturers cosset you with soft touch plastics to deceive you with cheaper , unreliable mechanicals. I truly appreciate Suzuki's honesty.

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  4 года назад +2

      Thank you, Suzuki know how to build a strong reliable and now lighter car.

      Follow up - bought a blue Swift Sport, 2021.. cracking car - shift quality not as good as my old MX5 ND, (but not many cars beat that shift) fast into the corners and out, great grip, linear power, the cheap plastics don't bother me, as I don't stroke the dash when I drive, lol, my only criticism is the exhaust is too quiet. I can fix that;)

    • @rosstee
      @rosstee 4 года назад +4

      Ohlukei I’ve heard of several people putting the standard car on a rolling road and getting 155bhp on average so Suzuki is definitely being modest with the official figure. That sort of power combined with the surprisingly light weight (for a modern car) explains the very good performance. Standard 0-60 is meant to be more like 7 seconds too.

  • @kristianspencer1978
    @kristianspencer1978 2 года назад +1

    It’s not a hot hatch chaps. These days to be in that category you need to be putting out 200 bhp. 30 years ago it would of been a hot hatch but not these days. It’s a very good all rounder but it needs a stage one tune, 180 bhp and it would be the complete package.

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  2 года назад

      Yes, for some reason they’re now warm hatches, that just doesn’t give it the credit it’s due. It’d be rapid with 180 bhp 😀

      It does. In Australia at least. But sorry, disagree. The auto might be faster, but I'd rather DRIVE my car, nothing beats the satisfaction of synchronising shift, pedal and steer through bends. Way more fun.

    What do people think of this SSS in the special "champion Yellow" , have found a 6months demo at the right price (£14.000).....only drawback is it's that yellow like as it certainly stands out....my only concern is that colour is ethier going to be big drawback in holding it value (as it's a colour unique to the Sport) or destroy it's value later on!

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  5 лет назад +1

      We like Yellow, as for value down the line depends on how many models were made in that colour and if there were any additions to that specific model / colour.

      Alan Rogers I was wondering the same. I had an Abarth 595 new about 4 years ago, and personally think it sounded a lot better than this Swift sport, but the Swift is a bigger comfier car than the Abarth for longer journeys, and has a 6th gear which is helpful, but I do think that maybe the 1 litre boosterjet would have more character as a daily driver for commuting, and for less money of course.

  • @domzbu
    @domzbu 5 лет назад

    6th is ALWAYS there for economy. And to enable 5th to be usable. Goes without saying.

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  5 лет назад +1

      Depends on the car, for example in a Veyron 7th is not primarily for economy, rather a higher top speed. *ben
