Thanks for the Vid, I was the one who developed and created the Roamer Searock Model. I still love it to this day, and and I know the history of it all
Seriously? That's amazing - you are very talented. You should be very proud. The watch is so beautiful and I still have both. These are never leaving my collection. I would love to learn more about the history of it, so if you are happy to share some more information please let me know. Thanks for watching 👍 By the way, your comment comes on the day that I have just recorded a video review of the new Roamer Primeline. This will be published very soon.👌 All the best.
Not long after my son was born I went looking for a watch that would make an ideal heirloom. Definitely wanting something of Swiss make, I compared and contrasted up and down the pricing and name scale. At the end of it all I settled on the white-faced Roamer Searock. I will miss it when he comes of age. With the solid bracelet, the Searock has a heft that belies its size. After nearly three years it's still going strong, albeit it did require a new clasp! I thought I had seen just about every Roamer Searock review on RUclips, but I'm glad I finally found yours.
I just ordered the withe dial version, looks so classy. I really love the case, the bracelet and the dial, had the chance to try one on some time ago and it really feels much more expensive than it is. Roamer gets a bit more attention here in Switzerland, they are quite well represented in different AD stores. A great brand with a long history!
I’ve been looking for a Seiko Sarb033 for very long time to be new and affordable at the same time. Thanks for reviewing this watch because my search ended here. I will purchase one of this in near future.
Now that is some high polish! I was going to say it looks like an Omega Aqua Terra then you pulled up the diver and it gave off heavy Planet Ocean vibes (but without the helium escape valve). Solid watch!
Hello, I was looking for a blue dial Swiss sports/dress Watch. I saw your review and then ordered one. It arrived today and it’s great. Thank you for your review
I've just ordered a black face searock can't wait to start wearing it,I only knew about roamer after finding my late grandfather's old roamer self winding watch which must be at least 70 years old.
I own the Searock with the green dial and STP 111 movement, i like the watch a lot, but i wish it had a shorter lug to lug distance. I also own the Soleure, very nice watch, again with the STP 111 movement. Always enjoy your videos.
I do like that type of watch , a cross between a dress watch and a sports watch. An everyday watch. I was considering choosing between Orient Star, Seiko or Citizen. Thank you for bringing these watches toy attention. I will now check them out and compare them. Cheers.
That's great. You can find these for similar prices to Orient Star & Seiko Presage but the quality is a lot higher in my opinion so it's a good choice. Thanks for watching. 👍
These are hard to find new and never on sale. I haven't found one for sale sevond hand yet probably because as you said noone that has gotbone wants to part with it.
@@wristwatchdave422 I just bought a used Roamer Searock Automatic, black version, in excellent condition for $499 Australian Dollars (AUD). Very happy, as new ones cost $899 - $1,100 AUD.
I bought mine in just 380€ with free shipping, I had before the Superking which is also incredible. Sometimes you can buy real gems with roamer, edox, doxa, marvin, etc
Nice one - the green dial looks awesome. I wouldn't know what the movement is without seeing a picture of it but if it's the Searock 1 then it is most probably the SW200. The version 2 has the SOPROD P24 movement and some of the dials have a different texture.
I bought my Roamer Soleure 6 years ago and it is still pristine and my jeweller commented that he had not come across a Roamer for over 30 years when I took it to be serviced. He confirmed that it has a STP 1-11 movement and he thought it a very attractive watch for the price paid (£350 6 years ago). They used to also manufacture a diver watch with white face and blue bezel which was in the Rockshell collection but buggered if I can locate one now as I would snap one up if possible.
I have the green one, brilliant, really stands out and few scratches after a year so I believe they are of great quality steel, sapphire glass and no glare, someone has pointed out they come with either ETA or STP1-11 (Fossil?)
Nice - that green one is very rare. The quality of the Searock is incredible. I've had the blue one for about 7 years and it still looks pristine for it's age.
I just purchased white one. I really agree with you! What a beautiful watch. But my version is no Roamer logo printed on the rotator, maybe they tried to make cost down.
I think it is a very attractive watch, surely with a good finishing. However I am having second thoughts because of the movement stp 11-1... which is from what I hear not entirely Swiss, not in all of its parts that is. it is a good looking watch though, thanks for showing it to us. You really must love it given that you got two of them. How would you see it on a vintage style leather strap ? that's what I would do.
I think the later version has the Swiss made STP 11-1 but this is the original model that has the ETA 2824. I'm sure the white dial would look very smart on a vintage leather strap - might give it a go actually! 👍
They are very different watches - the Searock is a dress watch and the Hamilton is a tool watch. The actual build quality and finishing is better on the Roamer but the Hamilton is still a great watch. I used to own one and liked it very much. However, if you want something of high quality and more dressy, then I recommend the Roamer Searock.
I have the 1971 916 Searock electronic. It has discrete electronic parts like a transistor, resistor, and capacitor as well as a balance wheel. The strangest watch I have.
Are there any other roamer mens watches that you could recommend,as this one,as stunning as it is,is a little out of my price range? Great review by the way.

...A thousand apologies for my English. There is really little information about this watch. I only found out from your video that the glass is convex. I looked closely at my recently purchased ones and saw a slightly-slightly convex one. Great! There is no information about the number of stones. How many are there? What is the power reserve of this watch? Watch class! I really liked them...
Hi - your English is very good! 👌 This Roamer Searock is powered by the ETA 2824-2 which has a 44 hour power reserve and 26 jewels (not stones) Thanks for watching 👍
Paul Tibbits, commander of the B29 Enola Gay, used a military Roamer Super Shock as a pilot watch when he dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima in 1945.
I've always been puzzled why watch reviewers completely ignore Roamer. They'll happily review Chinese homage watches. Like it or not, Chinese parts, financial backing and assembly is a fact of life today. Two thirds of components on Ferraris are made in China but I never hear people slagging off Ferrari because of it.
Absolutely - It puzzles me too. It just goes to show how much the media and companies with big marketing budgets can influence the majority of consumers. The bonus though is that brands like Roamer are not overpriced! I've had loads of different Roamer watches and they have all been superb value for money. Thanks for watching!
