Been playing RRT4 in my childhood the game's so damn good and I loved it's gameplay especially the soundtrack
Bro roasted this generation of players with just 2 games, hands down best 2 line roasting ive ever seen
And yeah, R4 puts this gen racing games to shame, maybe Forza Horizon could be the one to put a fight with such a gem from the 90s

However, skill issue! Grip cars are great as well! On the hardest route they're just straight up superior. Not for beginners, yes.
Did play this in emulation and later on bought a real PS1 almost only for this and silent hill - the songs are still a staple in my playlist
If you don’t have a ps1/2/3 to play the game I would recommend buying the jp version. Not only is generally the cheapest for most games, it has the best boxart.
The culmination of 90s console racing - the style, the palette, the soundtrack, the format, the whole damn vibe.. arguably the most polished game ever released on PlayStation 1

The ridge racer team didnt have a lady to scan for the ridge racer girl so they actually used one of the guys at namco instead after shaving his face.

Gran Turismo is definitely a better GAME but I'd say Ridge Racer Type 4 was a better EXPERIENCE.

this game is harder than dirt 4 and 4 was the hardest dirt game. Hevan and hell is the easiest.
