Please allow me to THANK YOU for sharing your farm life. My granddaddy had a successful farm which I never got to experience. I really wish I could have been a part of that life. But, through your videos, I am learning a lot about a wonderful way of living, and how much of yourself you put into your & your wife's style of living, property & animals' welfare🥰. And it's very nice, that you are such a likeable guy. Big thumbs up!

So good to show the battle plans to a good breeding season. The culling of the cattle is our way of helping nature on the survival of the fittest. Many people don’t understand that because they have never been farmers. Fresh genetics prolongs the survival of a good herd, with minimal problems

I've never seen your channel, but I must say this one was most enjoyable. I like the war terminology you used. If I was not retired I would show the first part on sorting to my US History class and ask them to listen for the war terms you used. As well as explain their war reference and why you chose them. Maybe use their answers for extra credit. Plus, it was so nice to see a calm and informative youtube with no drama. Keep on keeping on. Joy Giles

Pete. I'm fairly new to your site. Really enjoying your videos and have learned a lot. You are an excellent teacher and have so many common sense things. Like most of us, I often thought about doing what you did. I went down an agricultural path, but never did any farming. Your wife is special too. She does so many things with you. I'm a retired farm appraiser, with a background in adult education. Your equipment and tractors are what I grew up with. We have been married 55 years and worked together nearly 50 years. Thank you for such an entertaining site. I also watch "Just a few Acres" They have done wonders with that farm. He must have been a professional fence installer.

    Pete,
I really enjoy your Few Acres Farm channel. After watching this episode I realized that I do not know what factors you use to judge the cull heifers. I assume size has something to do with your choice since Peanut got selected and age, but how about the other factors? It is really nice to see a family working together to a single goal of making the farm work. I am really amazed by Hillary's attitude. She is always smiling and seemingly in a good mood, besides doing an excellent job of being a mom and keeping up her end of the farm work. Last but certainly not least I really enjoy seeing your children helping to keep the farm going. Hopefully they can carry the things they have learned into their adult life. We need more kids raised in that way showing responsibility, humor and a sense of family togetherness.
    Sam

It certainly is difficult to keep a bull calf back and not have inbreeding. We have to keep a real close record to prevent inbreeding, which can cause issues. I have the same problem when driving calves threw a pasture with electric fencing, they get to running and ignore the wires and go right through. Nice video, enjoyed watching the cattle throw there little balling sessions when you and your wife worked them. Thanks for the video, have a nice week.

That feeding scene with the piggers reminded me when I ran heavy equipment at a landfill in Florida many years ago. The last truck was taken at 4:30 or 5 and the we had to cover the compacted garbage with dirt we staged after scraping it off what was covered the previous night. I’m not kidding you could set a watch by it. The Ferrell pigs would come marching down the hill in rows of 2 or 3 dow for dinner that night. In the morning they would have it rooted up and torn all to shreds for being in there all night. It was finning seeing yours sneaking out of the weeds reminding me. Great videos.
