      Definitely Barnes in my opinion would be on that 2028 squad. He can play the 2, 3 or 4 very effectively. I can see him being a starter for sure. I just don’t know what position it will be. All depends on who else is on the team. What we can assume is that Haliburton, Booker, Edwards, Tatum and Bam will most likely be on the team. AD and Embiid possibly could also be on the team depending on how they are doing 4 years from now. I think Lebron, Steph, KD and White won’t be on the team. Maybe KD or Lebron might be up to joining the team as legacy pics depending on how their health is doing.
      So I’m thinking maybe 4-6 players might be selected to join Team USA. If I had to select 6 players right now I’d say Barnes for sure! Chet and Barnes are locks! Out of the guards I’d say Fox, Brunson or Maxey). I’d say Banchero also. Now I might not select all 3 of the PG’s I named depending on needs but at least 2 of them should make the squad. Then I’d say another wing. Possibly Flagg if he is all as advertised and if he is an all-star caliber player by 2028

    I like those "old" players but mister Kerr will always play those guys even in 4 years from now, and I really hate it. How can you sit someone like Tatum not one but 2 games? that's embarrassing, he wanted to play only those guys. KD was injured before, doesn't matter Kerr loves him too much and others how have played the whole time can sit on the bench. I'm pretty sure the others would have delivered as well. They're talking about bad defense against Serbia in the semi finals, why don't you bring more defense in? Booker is great on offense but Booker isn't really known for his defense... and there's so much going on in the background per instance the thing with Nike... man what is this?

    • @shaft9000
      @shaft9000 29 дней назад +1

      Tatum's fit was an issue because although he's probably a top 5 talent, there isn't any _one thing_ he does better than everyone else. His two 'mates from the Celtics are better defenders. KD and Booker are more versatile scorers, Steph's The Shooter , while LeBron and TH have better distro.
      Nothing personal, just a matter of chemistry with this squad. At least he's not Kawhi or JB who got the (Nike) boot-out.

      And Tatum's role needs to change. He had to wait in the corner... He's more then capable to orchestrate the offense.
      But yes it is what it is.

    USA is still dominant. Steph will be forgotten since he didn’t get MVP despite his performance. USA has been beaten before when supposedly the world talent wasn’t as good. Thus it’s more about what the USA does and not other countries. USA was the heavy favorite so the outcome wasn’t surprising

    I think you forget in 2021 in the Tokyo Olympics, USA still won with no LeBron or Steph. France will be a threat in 2028, but we still will have the most depth and just need to piece it together

    I actually hate this guy and his terrible Jim Carrey Impersonation. I’m from Toronto Canada and even I know America will never lose If they don’t want to 😂

    I get it, it's fun if you're an American to see all your favourite players dominate. However, it's probably a good thing for the NBA as a whole to have a competitive Olympics with how international the audience is getting. As well, if we're being honest the US will still probably be favourites for the foreseeable future, it just won't be a contest for 2nd place with the other teams.

    The key is continuity. If Grant Hill can get all of the top guys to commit to playing in the world championships in 2027 and to come back as a team in 2028 to play in the Olympics they will win again. While the world is getting better and better every year, the US still produces more high-level players than anyone. But the other nations keep the same players together from competition to competition. The US has to spend time learning to play together. If they can develop that continuity it will be light out.

    Possibility of the NBA deploying regional NBA leagues in other countries. For example: NBA France (FNBA), NBA Germany (GNBA), NBA Can...oh wait.
    You get the idea. 👍

    DeAaron Fox is that 4th quarter dynamo. He is able to hit tough shots when the game is on line. Ant Edward isn't afraid take them but he also doesn't hit them either. You need Steph Curry's protege. And he's here in Ca too.
