- This was the first startup, and current status of 7.3L Godzilla swapping my 1979 F-150 Custom SuperCab 2WD. All done by myself and a friend out of my garage. Have some issues to work out still, before it's back on the road.

Looks great, sounds great, great job!
I would love this in my 79 Bronco.
AWESOME SWAP ... ! ! !
Perfect application for this engine. Very nice!
Damn. The "little-Zilla" 6.8 will be next, and perfect for 9ld school F-150 chassis.
Nice ride!
Beautiful truck.
Thats awesome man, i almost bought a 79F100 recently to do this same thing!
You should still do it! 😎
@@mustangboyy6 I'm finishing my basement 😑. I want it slammed with a blower on it. You're trucks awesome, we had a black 79 bronco growing up.
Man I want
I want one!!!
I like the old stuff. I would rather tune it with a flathead screw driver. Me and computers mostly don't get along.
Sorry to hear that, haha. My condolences.
@@mustangboyy6 I mean what you did is amazing. Definitely way above my mechanic skills for sure. You definitely have a good taste of trucks. Really the best ever made.
Thank you, it was quite the project. Many hours of research along with countless hours of labor. I've been very happy with how it turned out. It's running and driving great!
@@mustangboyy6 l bought a 79 F150 brand new and that was the best truck l have owned. It did a lot of things easily that it shouldn't have been able to do. It had a 351 M with a 2 barrel on it and had everything we needed. The traction was unreal. We live in NW PA and we get deep snow at times and never got it stuck. Just a great truck.
Got a crew cab project that came with a 6BT.. but everyone is doing that.. this makes me question using that 6BT
How tall are you? I’m thinking about lifting my 69 F250 like this. Kind of hard to tell through the phone how high it sits up or maybe I’ll do the 4WD conversion. Which is a lot of work and more money though.
Let's see that Faux Wheel Drive "run AND drive".
Schetchy!
Absolutely awesome!! This is exactly what I was wanting to do to a old classic.. Damn awesome
humilde mente
If I may ask, what does it cost got get into a 7.3 godzilla in these trucks? Any surprises?
On the "Ford Era" channel I think he was $30k into his Godzilla swap.
Keep in mind Solomon's engine was a custom bottom up build though, far from stock. His custom intake manifold was over $4k alone.
Such a nice build man!!!! Could you do a video on how you lifted the front suspension, the ttbs.
Thank you, much appreciated! I have been meaning to put a longer video together of the whole truck. Just have not gotten it done. The front I lifted with a kit from AutoFab. My truck is 2wd, so it is the twin i-beam. It's not the 4wd with the twin traction beams. Anyways, AutoFab can bend the original twin i-beams and extend the radius arms. They supply taller coil springs and you add your shocks of choice. It was really that simple. They also offer new steering linkage as well.
How much did that set you back?
Looks great! I’m planning on doing the same on my 78 F150. What did you do for exhaust? Any clearance issues?
Go for it man! Not much clearance issue at all, it fit really nicely. I scratch built my exhaust myself. All 3" dia 16 ga 304 stainless. Corsa mufflers and Stainless Bros resonators.
Any way I can talk you into giving me the details on the wheels, I like how that thing sits
No problem, they are Toyo Open Country MT 315/75 tires on 16"x10" Alloy Ion Style 171 wheels.
Well Done, what transmission are you using?
I went with the Superduty Torqshift 6 transmission 💪
What are the advantages of using that transmission and did you have to make a drive shaft?
@@darrylmitchell1305 For me, the biggest advantages and reasons for deciding to use this transmission were: I could get it for a good price already with the engine, as a whole combo, already assembled. It is supported by the stock PCM which I used with a custom unlock and standalone tune. And the fact that this transmission has such a great reputation, and can handle large amounts of torque & hp.
The 6R140 is a little on the large side, but it fit my transmission tunnel very well actually, considering the difference in size from the original C6.
I did have new driveshafts made. Being a Supercab long bed, my truck had a 2-piece original, with a center carrier bearing. I kept that bearing location stock, so I suppose I could have gotten away with just replacing the shaft from there to the transmission. However, my original driveshafts were in sad shape, the u-joints were undersized for the new setup, and worn out. So I had a completely new set of shafts built brand new, with 1350 u-joints.
Thanks amill for the quick response 👍. An your response is helpful sir
79 with round headlights? 🤨
haha, as if I don't know what year my own truck is. I swapped the square headlights out for round ones, because I like the look better.
@@mustangboyy6 I wasnt trying to say that lol I've just never seen anyone do that
oh haha, yeah I've just heard it a lot, must really throw people off.
