@@StoneyRidgeFarmer brother you are a farmer. All these definitions are antiquated. Like Arms Family Homestead. By the old definition, they aren't "homesteaders" nor is it a "homestead" in the traditional sense but does not make their channel any less informative or educational. Same with you. RUclips started as supplemental income and now may be your and their main income but it allows you to buy more land, equipment and vehicles. You grow vegetables to consume sell, trade and barter. You're a farmer. Doesn't matter how much. Screw it. Call your self stoney ridge cattleman. You raise cattle to sell. That makes you a cattleman in my book. It really doesn't matter what you call yourself. There are always gonna be those that are gonna try to put another down for whatever reason. You keep doing you.
First generation farmer businesses are helping you. Backing in the day before RUclips, business 's rarely helped out. SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS.😂
@@jmjbedpa true. Sign of the times. Most advertising and influencers are all on social media. Gone are the traditional ways of doing many things. But sometimes that leads to better ways

My parents had a Great Dane, ( Rocky ). she gave him a baby aspirin. Every day. Their Vet recommended it also. It did help.
At 8:20 I'm thinking "that blade was upside down", but guess it went on other side of mower, like you mentioned.
Our dog is 19 tears old and her vet treats her with Librela monthly. Her movements change for the better soon after her injection. It's a 30 day treatment.
I’m glad you added the comment about chocking. A friend was working on the pick up of his combine when a hose blew and it dropped. It ripped his jeans and left a scratch on the skin of his kneecap. Could’ve been much worse.
Bless your heart for loving Milwaukee.
I give my dog Cosequin to help her and to prevent problems. I helps with joint and hip problems.
Agree... gave the same to my rotty... it's shark cartilage been around for ever
We had our vet treat Kassie, our Golden Retriever with hip dysplasia, with a series of laser light therapy.
Love the pocket knife, I’m pretty sure I’m one of the people that suggested the Milwaukee fastback. Hope it’s putting in the work.
Nice Equipment
welcome to the channel Carlo! Thanks for all your great comments!
FISH OIL for your dogs hips. I tried glucosamine/condriton for my dogs knees and it did nothing. I gave her fish oil based on a recommendation and it really helped her. Just standard 500mg fish oil capsules from Walmart 1 time per day on her food (60lb pit). Had to poke a hole in the capful and squire it on her food because she would spit the capful on the floor. Hope that helps
Put Blackstrap Molasses on Buddy’s food. It will help the joints!
Cosequin for dogs that have arthritis pain
Love my gooloo. Thanks for the recommendation Josh.
I'm sure it's useful, but if one replaces battery on a car, it becomes less necessary in mind. I paid 250.00 for my car battery, crazy prices!
@ClickinChicken . My truck has an electrical issue and if I don't run it daily the battery dies. The gooloo has allowed me to not have to worry about jumper cables or a battery charger.
We were having some 40-50 mph winds yesterday. 60+ last Sunday, ahhhh, Spring in West Texas.....hate the wind
Josh I sorry about the dog. I had 2 German Shepherds that ended up with that and ended up having to be put down. I will say that with the second one, when she started limping, I gave her
Glucosamine HCI and Chondroitin Sulfate supplements, (supposed to Help Lubricate and Cushion Joints and Helps Protect Cartilage), and it did seem to help her quality of life and kept her going for a couple of years longer. It's been some time ago now but I believe she was 15 when she passed. I don't remember what the dosage was that I gave her but you could ask any breeders you know or ask your vet for recommendations. Wishing you both the very best brother.
Great video Josh, be careful not to cut your face off! That was close. Also, as a Ford truck guy I'd love to know about the black OBS sitting in the background (you probably said about it in another video and I just missed it). Have a great weekend
glucosamine is also good dog
joints
Glyco flex is what I think is the best for my dog it’s the world of difference if he has it or not he is almost to and still picks fights (plays) with his brothers out and the yard if he has his chews. One In the morning and one at night. Good luck with buddy.
It’s in Amazon
Glucosamine sulphate works wonders with dogs. My vet uses it on his old dogs. I tried it on my Shep-lab cross and she went from barely moving to running and jumping again. 1500mg for 95 lb dog is what I used. Hope Buddy gets better.
Great video Josh, appreciate you taking us along.
Tractor Supply. 4Health hip and joint biscuits. Comes in Chicken or Beef. Has helped my pup tremendously!!!
And their grain free dog food
Was hear. Wooooo! Had to wince when you ran over that old blade. Done that one or twice. Mostly tools i forgot in my hurry to test
My dog had arthritis and limped for a month even with arthritis meds. So I switched him off of kibble and put him on a homemade version of farmers dog and the limping stopped and he lost needed weight and now has the energy of a puppy.
Josh, try giving Buddy CBD oil for his hips, it’s a night and day difference.
So glad you showed the very small portable charger. They are so handy and take almost zero room. Bought a HUMMER 12000 H2 AMP 2 years ago. Since have given many as gifts. Have used ours maybe 50 times easily helping others is many places at work, shopping and homes if I could help jump them. Plus, I really like the ability to charge cell phones on the go, and even charge laptop when not home. One of the best modern convenient tools in a long time.
Seems like the battery should last more than two years. Did you check the water level in the battery? Maybe it is low. Filling it back up might bring it back. Check connections to make sure they are clean. Also might want to check the voltage after the tractor starts to see if the voltage increases when the engine is running. Should be 14 to 15 volts. Glucosamine might help your dog.
Great video. Thanks for sharing your mechanical knowledge and skills. It's a big help to all of us. Take care and God Bless.
Glucosamine treats, fish oil and turmeric would do wonders for your dog. If he won’t tear up a bed, make sure he has one outside when he’s out getting a suntan too.
Hey Josh thank you for the video I enjoyed it and those blades maybe you can bend them back if you put them in a vice woo
Got to love cold starts.
The GooLoo battery packs are great. After seeing you use one some time back, I bought two, one for each of our diesel rigs. I check the condition of them every 3 months or so, still showing 98% charge with 0 uses. Good product.
Hi just like to say enjoy & appreciate the fram videos keep up great work
I was so glad to see the 4x4 blocks under the bush hog safety first
Even better 6x6 !
Our Doberman had hip dysplasia so we gave her a try with acupuncture. it worked awesome for her. She couldn’t even stand up when we took her and she walked out on her own. We continued maintenance sessions to keep her feeling good. Sometimes more frequent in the winter because of the cold bothering her.
Some Chiropractors adjust animals and it does wonders! We have mastiffs and my wife(chiropractor)
regularly adjust them and you can see the difference
I had a shepherd for 16 years. The last 4 were hard on her due to arthritis and other breed-related problems. She ate a special diet with various things for her conditions and there were some human OTC painkillers she could take that helped. Check with your vet and see what modern ones will work. Good luck. Shepherds are the most wonderful dogs!
Looks like aliens made crop circles in your fields lol
Good Friday . 👍
Try Cosequin. We use to give it to our Yellow Lab.
Have a 13 year old large weimaraner whooo has had hip issues since he was a puppy. Most days he's fine but after a long walk or chasing something he gets lame. Lady over the hill has a business making cbd cookies for hospice and cancer patients. We get those and give him half an cookie n when he's hurting. Does him just fine😊
My wife is a vet tech of 7 years. She suggested cosequin/dasuquin. Side effects could include gas, softer stools than normal. She also wants to state that it works for most dogs that she has worked with but may not work for all dogs, and before starting anything medication wise, especially over the counter should be ran by your veterinarian.
Hi Josh. Thanks for sharing! Love coming to your channel! FYI, if you find one side of mower not performing well. Watching the start of this video, I believe you installed the first two blades on the left side of mower upside down.... Your cutting edge should be closest to the ground.
watch it all brother....we fixed that issue...there were two different part numbers
I think Milwaukee tools are the best-0-no going back.
Use to give a sprinkler to our older beagels seem to help them
I give my dogs a liquid base add to drinking water solution called Hip and Joint
Good evening Josh I have a 13 year old Shilo Shepard he has been on Gabapentin. But his arthritis has become so bad 4 months ago he was placed on Librela as well. It’s an injection once a month about $115 a shot at Bainfield Pet Hospital
My wife’s a vet tech, she says Dasuquin advance with eggshell membrane would help with the hips. Probably have to go to a vet tho
I learn everything the hard way Brother!
On dogs. I have a bread that is known for bad hips. Half Chihuahua and half Terrier. He will be nine in September. Yet. Acts like a three year old. What I give him every day is an egg, raw, and then a product I get off of Amazon. It is by Duggie Dailies. Advanced Probiotics. He also does get a couple of cookies that come from his vet. I buy his dog food from his vet. Science Diet. I can play with him with his three balls at the same time. At his age. He is still so quick. I can't win. Yet. For the egg. I raise two quail pairs. I give him those eggs. My quail I feed them a mix. Chicken layer. Dried bugs. Then. From the chicken eggs, I and my son eat. I dry out the egg shells. I have a feed grinder that I mix it all in. Thanks for the information today.
Right Josh, in your Theme song. "Afraid of life in times like this!..." Yeah, I have a broken spring on my driver front of Jetta/car. Yay. Anyway. I'm on it like a duck on a June bug!
Nice man trying to help me, part ordered. 129$ plus labor. But two days (or one i have to drive to work)! I'll tip him with a Breakfast Quiche along with Time and Material! I'm a simple Deli Man. It's incredible how a mechanic can save your butt! I'll drive the minimum speed limit 45. to the upset of Sammy Hagar! Wooo!
for the dog you can use pet hemp oil
For Buddy :-) We give our dogs bone and joint supplement from Wild Earth, there are others out there as well. We have an English Mastiff and a German Shepherd mix with some arthritis problems in her shoulder. It seems to alleviate issues on most days.
man i just have to comment, its so amazing how much work you put into your videos. you have to be a hell of patient man to make videos , and great videos :) it so relaxing watching your videos. at what time do wake up to start your farming ?
Thanks! I get up around 6 or so
Our dog has some spine issue common in the breed. We have her two week rest being contained in a small 10x10 pen no jumping but her condition was bad. Her rear end hardly worked. With the “bed rest” we have her glucosamine and her condition improved dramatically. You can still see sometimes it bothers her but she is so much better. She is also 9 years old. (Not a German shepherd)
Nice video Josh have a happy easter I'm sure easter bunny will find the farm
i usually get about 9 years out of a battery and that is walmart batteries so may need a disconnect or something cause 3 years is not nothing
Earlier in the spring or later in winter while the grass is dormant, you could burn off the broom sedge or tall dry matter. This will help return nutrients back to the earth and give the little microbes something to cling to. Burns do not kill everything off, do not be shy of using fire to help with the farm.
Always something to repair on the farm.
Gittin' 'er dun! 😁👍
Also laser therapy can be an alternative if you'd rather not give your pets meds. Or acupuncture. But can be a more costly route.
Josh, like you I love my Sheperds. I have 2 both over 10 yrs. old. My Gus,my 11 year old got down in his hips and could not get up to walk. I was afraid I was going to have him put down. Local vets couldn't do anything really to help just the usual hip supplements. However my daughter is a vet technician in a larger town. She told me about ADEQUAN canine. Its an injection medicine. It worked wonders. He still has arthritis but he can get up and walk and get about pretty good for an old dog. I will tell you its expensive but what's it worth to help your old friend enjoy his life a while longer? I hope this can help.
Great video Josh. I was looking at my pasture yesterday and I have some broom sedge too. I am thinking about putting out some lime. I know you don't do chemical fertilizers but what are your thoughts on lime?
I get about 3 years out of a battery
Ask your vet about Galliprant for your dog. It's expensive, but it works wonders for their hips.
Josh the vet can prescride gabapentin its a anti pain and inflammatory i gave it to my rotti when she hit 12 and was getting on in her age made her act like a puppy and comfortable till dhe passed a year later
My sister had a big German shepherd that had arthritis. I think she found a medication that sounded like "CoQ10" that helps relieve pain from arthritis. Maybe that would help with your dog.
You mean there are cutters that don’t need 400ft-lb of torque to attach / detach a blade? Nice.
You just inspired me to get some mowing done this weekend. Any chance you’ll be doing a live stream this weekend? Hope to see you. 👍🏻
might do one on easter...but not sure yet
Those TYM’s are kind of built like an LS
hmmm....not real sure I agree
For ponds: Bio Health Pod Systems
Didn't see it in the video - Did you neglect to grease the pins when you put it all back together?
lol...yep....not totally necessary....but would have been a good idea lol
Hay one thing i havent heard you talk about is the cows hoof care. Do you have th trimmed? As for my German Shepard I give him omega xl it's for people but my dog 7 years old is completely different on it. I give 4 capsules per day for the first week then drop it to 1 or 2 per day. It's not cheap but it works. Also check you comments I shared one that had a link to a solar panel with built in charge controller to keep your tractor charged without needing to plug it in.
The only downfall to making his hip stop hurting is he'll hurt it worse, not knowing. I can't remember what they gave my dad's Shepard, but they stressed to keep him calmly active and not puppy active after giving him the meds.
Don’t they make a single panel solar charging system/tender that can trickle charge batteries? I mean one where the panel is 8.5”x11” sized, or similar, that can be mounted in an inconspicuous place.
Deramaxx is a life changer for dogs
I did notice you talking about putting grease on the quick attach bolts for the blades but I didn't see you put any grease while you were replacing the blades, did you do it and just not film it?
❤
stem cell can fix it some time, but no gurarantee,i wreck amend olive oil and gralic, haf a cup in the food very day
U got a lot of weed pressure and it's affecting or grass I'd do some soil test we soil test every year because of being a crop farm. I think about trying some organic down the road
what you call "weeds" my cows call the salad bar my brother...takes time to get the Ph right and get the soil back to healthy, we'll tolerate those weeds for a few years until we've got the salad bar we need
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer weeds don't have any type of nutritional value
It would help enormously if you kept the tops of the battery CLEAN!
I didn’t see anything but a little dust…what did yall see?
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Dirt/Dust. Problem is, that that dirt/dust provides a level of continuity for current flow, especially if condensation forms. It has JUST enough electrical conductivity to cause battery drain. Not trying to be an a-hole here. Do some research.
You seen how many acres of farm land josh keeps up and on top of that anmials as well I think a little dirt on his equipment that is made to work isn't hurting a thing
Your not pixeling out those TYM logos???? Those blades are testament to the farm being named STONEY Ridge.
Why would he? Do you really think he's that petty and small?
@@andrewalexander9492 Lighten up Andy...only joking...maybe TYM would not mind as the tractor did not start.
Oh Peter picks with me….he’s 👍 but good looking out for me. I get some nasty comments sometimes
Hi Josh, Interesting vid. How is new MAMA COW and Her Offspring? What did You get? A little girl or a boy?
We gave our German Shepherd supplements to help with her hip dysplasia nothing helped we eventually had to put her down. It was the hardest thing we ever did😢
🌹🌹❤🌹🌹
Didn't see the link to the jump box
Can You go back and slow the vid down? Also used closed captions? Maybe THAT will help??
Canine Co-Q-10 may help his hip.
For your dog. Give him a Teaspoon of Turmeric power with his food. Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory.
if you leave the tractor outside a lot then just put a solar panel on the roof with a charge controller to the battery. My understanding is the US Army does this with their trucks.
GREAT IDEA! Josh has some knowledge of solar stuff so Maybe something that He can do?
In my 23 years in the US Army we never used solar charging on any of vehicles we had assigned to us.

You have such a big shop, why don't you keep tractors inside protected from cold days... batteries usually lose power with cold and frost weather... 😊

Give my dogs fish oil for their joints
yes when using rotational grazing u are better off leaving a little behind that they could of eaten and not hurt the grass then leaving them on to long and hurting the grass. It tool me a few yrs to figure this one out. I began rotational grazing in 1973 when I took over my Da's farm. He decided at age 53 that he did not want to be a framer and went into contracting. Best move he ever make. @0 yr later he retired with 1.5M in the bank. No we kids got none of that money. Da and Ma spent it all. every time they flew somewhere they had not been Da would say there goes ur inheritance. When Ma passed in '12 each of we 5 kids got all of 600 bucks.
Bty Da was not a good farmer. He like his chem to control weeds and insecticides for bugs. I went organic and got ride of 80% of dairy cows. Kept only the best 50 cows and hired someone to milk them. I hate milking cows but love caring for meat animals
Cortisone injection happens to German shepherds with slanted backs you need the (straight back German shepherd normal back end.
Whats the update with the raptor , what was the whining noise did they find the problem?
everything has been repaired....I drove it for a month to make sure it was good and now it's gone!
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer ya I hate mine too, what was the steering whine you were experiencing? Was it the electric steering?
The first blade was installed upside down.
Keep watching we talk about it
take that blade off and put it on the correct direction it will cut better😁
keep on watching! lol
Do you have a fuel tank for the equipment or do you haul it in a pickup tank?
pickup truck tank....I burn about 250 gallons of diesel per year
that is not bad. I figured more. But then I am use to large machines that some drink 90 gallons each day.

Your dog needs Glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate tablets they replenish the cartilage in his joints hopefully that helps they helped my dog when she got arthritis She is gone a few years now god bless her but they made a big difference to her mobility and joint pain think 💬 of it like grease your tractor that essentially what they do😊
