It's down to the last day of the 8-day hunt, and Randy seems to be getting more and more distracted...by GROUSE! We're starting to wonder if he even buys an elk tag...
But Team ELK101 is more focused than ever, and has finally found a bull that is ready to play the game. Donnie has the bull coming in on a string, and Corey is at full-draw as the 6x6 steps out into the opening just 30 yards away...

I admire Randy’s appreciation for grouse, I really do. I didn’t used to hunt for them but now I carry a couple arrows with judo points!
Hunting is hunting. Being out is what it is all about and the opportunity to encounter an elk is awesome. Down to the wire, never give up!

Felt bad for Team Peax, bad luck with all that wind and those widow makers blowing all over. Great seeing a father son duo, I’d give anything to have one more day in the field with my dad. Even though they are done, I can appreciate the father son duo. Hunting with my Dad means more than any Elk kill. Great effort team Peax and quality time with each other.
I had the same results in MT this season too. It was tough hunting. I liked all the hunts and the reality of all of them.

I thought I was the only one that had vehicles drive through when I'm elk hunting. Frustrating when you wake up early to get in position just to have that happen. Keep up the great work guys !
That Donnie Dad joke was epic. Can't wait for my 8 year old daughter to wake so I can tell her that one. I thought Corey was going to get to punch his tag, tough hunting those educated elk. Really enjoying this season.

All the teams are so fun to watch but there’s never a dull moment with Randy around, he can keep the moral going. Reminds me of my boys when they see grouse even though they’ve never shot one, they get just as excited as Randy.

Wow. Sorry Team Peax. Very nice that you both got to hunt with each other. I was sure hoping things would go your way. This hunt of yours brought back memories from two years ago. It was supposed to be windy, but when I woke, it was nice and calm. I got out in the woods and got a bull bugling. He shut up after about three bugles. I checked the wind, it was good, I started wondering why he went quiet. Then the wind started, it kept getting stronger and stronger. Tree tops started snapping, trees came down. I was hoofing it to get out of the woods. Got to the road and started down the Mtn. and had a big tree come down right in front of me. Had to back up and go way around the Mtn. and go down the next saddle. Made it off the hill, but a ton of trees came down.

Grouse fajitas are the best after a long hunt. Team Peax the wind you guys had was amazingly harsh fatiguing on a hunter, you can get knocked down but always get back up stronger and with more knowledge. Though tags not punched still a valuable hunt.
Hard day all around especially for the grouse. Randy was putting a hammer on and I think more excited than if it would’ve been an elk.
The chicken dance. When you can't eat elk, at least you're not going hungry! Been waiting for Shannon and Cory to get it done, goes to show even great elk hunters have a rough go now and then.

Really enjoy that your episodes are almost entirely hunting, no what’s for breakfast, lunch or dinner(except when Randy chicken dances.). No MTV elk rock videos. Just getting after the elk hunting, bad or good days. Great group of guys, great sponsors and great times in the elk woods.

Lol is all that can be said about Newberg. Still in them some are. Team Peax put in miles that's for sure. Great experience for sure as a father son team. Nothing I'd rather do than share the outdoors with my wife and two boys. My boys pretend elk hunt and just cannot wait to see if I bring one home my first time out this fall 2022. Nothing like two boys (5&2) bugling through moms vacuum attachments

I am going to remember that Dad joke that was epic. I thought Corey was going to get it done but that wind will get you every time.
