This had depth. This man is learned in music affairs, not social media affairs. You can tell he is passionate about the discussion.
He is wise, not discussing anyone and not being personal just facts.
It's not about coming to the podcast and throwing shade and punchlines. Future guests should take notes on maturity and composure.

Denny J said Tyla is doing well in a genre that is not South African. That is not true. By definition, Water is "An amapiano song with elements of pop, R&B and Afrobeats." That is her style. Most people don't know she had a big song four years ago named "getting late," and that song together with her new offering "ART" are rooted in Amapiano. In other words, if you take out or modify the log drum in any of her offerings, there is very little left. It is a complement to Amapiano that someone would say it sounds western, afrobeats or pop. 👌🏾

@MaryMucheka Wow. So much confidence from someone who doesn't know what they are talking about. How about you listen to understand yourself? Tyla is an Amapiano artist who is thriving in a genre that originated in Gauteng Province South Africa. She IS from Gauteng. Therefore she is not an exception. She is successful because she is original. She is a typical example of "original acts blow up internationally" which is Mono's view to begin with. In your own words, she IS the 98%.

Our elder is very wise and educated and l pray the Lord shines His lights upon him! He is a good man!
Christianity comes with salvation! It's sore purpose is to give us a pass to eternal life. It has nothing to do with physical stuff though in most cases those can come as by-products.
Ukatoona wakufunga kuti Christianity is here to change our economy then you are of no difference to the Jews!
There is God in heaven and if He is there should be system and/or ways to communicate with Him. We should give reverence to Him not to fear Him.

Thanks for the show! I loved the humor used to deliver such powerful nuggets. I was literally laughing at each question, reaction, and Mono's answers. I agree with a lot of things Mono was saying about religion. True, religion is often used to spread fear. God is not an egomaniac who wants people to pray all night just to give them bread. Choosing the soft part of being a man or woman - that was so profound. The mother of Jesus, Mary - after having five children - still being called the Virgin Mary is interesting. But just to share my take on the relevance of the Bible, I think it's best not to take the Bible as a historical book, but as a psychological book that addresses the mind. We can then view each biblical character as representing states of mind that may need to die (negative traits) and the good ones to be resurrected (positive traits) within ourselves.

Same, its just a hard topic to discuss with anyone else other than meditate it by yourself because people are emotional. The religions did a good job in the way it puts fear into people when we try and critically analyze it. His views on God and the Bible I disagree with as you cannot separate the two, God and His word. The Bible is a story of love from start to finish about how God made the world and ultimately saved us nekutadza kwedu ikoko. No human is clever enough to coordinate something such as the Bible. One of the elders who can be respected for his approach during a conversation, but actually I have something to add or to correct his religious views. First of all the Bible itself is a black man’s history only that we have forgotten. I will just give few scriptures to support why I’m saying this
    Most
High pointing where some of His children were scattered to.
Zephaniah 3:10 From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.
Our forefathers broke His commandments and He was angry with us that’s why we’re at the bottom of the society.
Amos 3:1 Hear this word that the LORD hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,
Amos 3:2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.
We won’t enjoy enjoy most of our mineral resources.
Deuteronomy 28:16 Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
Deuteronomy 28:33 The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:
We have forgotten who we are
Jeremiah 17:4 And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.
Lastly the people in Israel right now are not the original Israelites that’s why they call themselves Israelis.
Revelation 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
I think I should end here for now
But the bible is actually our true History book
    Shalom 👊🏿👊🏿👊🏿

They won't hear what you have to say, they're blinded by earthly wisdom and so in Mono.

This guy really goes into detail on any topic, and his explanations are crystal clear. He does not use emotions to justify his reasoning but uses facts, and for that reason, he would be an amazing addition to the podcast. I really enjoyed this conversation and would love to see more of this. 🔥🔥🔥

This is by far the best episode. For me Shadaya interview has finally been overtaken.
I wish this interview was done entirely with English or had English subtitles. Coz this content deserves a wider reach beyond the Shona and Zimbabwean audience.
    Well-done guys

Immensely enjoyed this. Thanks Becky K for bringing on the show one of the very best celebrated session guitarist in the country. I like the way you and Danny J do not unnecessarily interrupt your guests but give them a platform to articulate their views. The background research you do on your interviewees also helps to make the interview flawless. Mono is a joy to listen to; a modern day Philosopher.
