Oh the gift from your subscriber it has grow so much. And the flowers are so beautiful. You have collect so many plants. Well done Marija. A big collection.
This is my first year of growing Stapelia, Huernia, Orbea, etc. I keep them in my living room that stays around 70°F all day all night even during winter months. Do I have to keep them dry like I do with my cacti? In winter, the weather here in Washington state is cloudy almost every day with few sunny days. Thank you in advance, Marija.
Takuma Shoji not quite as dry as cacti but they definitely rest like cactuses and will not grow and take in water like rest of the year. They may need a little bit of water all through winter though. Maybe small amounts every few weeks.
Carrion Crazed unfortunately 70% of these are gone due to root mealy bugs. I did few updates. I’ll try to organize videos so you can see the updates after this one
@@succulentlivingbymarija8872 OH NO! That is Soo sad to hear!🥺 I hope that you were able to get rid of them nasty things! I wish you Much luck with regrowing your collection! I love watching Ascelpiad videos and caring for them, I have many.
How do you remember all those names😀. I have a succulent that I’m trying to find the name of. The mother is like a cactus but it has many many babies attached to it. Is there anyplace I could send you a picture?
Do you share any of the seeds for Orbea Variegata? I also love Stapelias and have several; however, I adore Orbea Variegata. I live in Toronto, Ontario Canada. Otherwise, can you tell me where to get fresh seeds for the Orbea Variegata please and thank you in advance?
Patricia Muscat I never grew any succulent from seed and don’t have seeds otherwise I would gladly send you. Check retroray youtube channel. He is in Canada and maybe able to send you some cuttings and tell you where to order. I would also check Etsy and eBay.
@@succulentlivingbymarija8872 Thank you Marija. I will try retroray; however, I will not deal with Etsy because they advertise the product and then send you something different because they never had the product in the first place. So advertise falsely. I do appreciate your kind response. Take care.
thank you very much for the answer! i think the two little plants at minute 2.50 are tavaresia barkley. I think I can justify that with the three little spikes on each wart. I once had a very large collection of carrion flowers. i dealt with the complicated flowers and deciphered their pollination. they are beautiful plants. now i have started collecting again. may i ask in which country you live greetings helge from germany
Helge Donath in Michigan in USA and they really struggle here. I lost most of the collection. I have smaller collection in serbia in Europe and they do wonderfully over there. Here in Michigan it’s below freezing for 7 months and it’s very humid when it’s finally not freezing.
yes dear marija! they need a lot of heat. i used to have a greenhouse. today i cultivate them on the windowsill on the south side. also other asclepiadaceaen. i use a well drained soil with little humus, stones, clay, sand and the earth that lies under a meadow. i love these plants so much. I once had orbea commutata, wissmanii, caralluma gracilis, mammilaris, stapelia leendertziae, the flowers of which smelled horribly. but i love her! now my dear marija i cultivate many plants from south east asia. I will send you the link to my channel here. maybe you can tell me if you could open it. Thanks a lot. ruclips.net/channel/UCZGekBEQ1TppbY8ETzPUmew?view_as=subscriber

Love this type of succulents!
Hopefully your stapelia schinzii v angolensis makes it!.
Its a really pretty plant 🌿
Lindas adoro as suas plantas feliz natal...
if you are afraid of mold. you could treat it with cinnamon . just coat the dirt and branches and watch it.
very good
Are huernias dormant in the winter? Do you treat them like cactus and not water? Mine had the most beautiful deep red, tiny flowers. Just love it.
Jan Alexander yes they do rest in winter and I water only a little similar to cacti because it’s warm in the house
Can you do a comparison between huernia and stapelia? I have a few plants that I think are one or the other of them, but I don’t know how to tell!
Neat plants!

I’m thinking about selling some of my stapelias , are you able to show a video of like how to package a cutting as I have no clue how 😭
Stapelias are pretty easy, you can use paper towel or paper that’s used for gifts and paper bags. I haven’t made video about it though 😕

Patricia Muscat I understand. That happens on eBay too. It’s very frustrating!
@@succulentlivingbymarija8872 Hi Marija. Thank you for suggesting Retroray; however, he doesn't sell seeds or plants.
How much perlite do you use in your soil for stapelia?
Mishiara it’s the same mix I use for most succulents, about 1/3.
