@@MarkGoesHiking helping people get into backpacking and backpacking with young family like my granddaughter. I enjoy those times. Otherwise I backpack to get away.
Great tips Mark I’m in my 70’s and section hike using all of them, although at night it would be nice to sit around a campfire with other hikers but I make due with a cup of coffee and watching sunsets.
All is well! Thanks, bud! You're looking healthy, my friend. Kentucky is a destination of mine in a few weeks. Thats why I ask, so will there be a trip video?
Great tips. I solo backpack through necessity. I don't know many backpackers and my schedule usually only allows overnighters. One tip is to bring earplugs. That rustling sound in the bushes is most likely a bird but you'll start thinking a sasquatch is near. It's easier to ignore it. 😂
I am always torn of ear plugs. The alert part of me wants to hear so I have not gone that route. But, the random noises get the imagination going. I have embraced that and have used it as a sort of training to remaining calm and use reasonable thinking. I def don’t get spooked at night like I used to. Cheers! 🤙🍻
What tips do you have for enjoying solo trips?
Solo is my preferred way to go.
In what circumstances do you enjoy hiking with others?

Very well said. I agree! 🤙🍻
The hardest thing for me to learn was to stop instead of walking till I dropped.
True story!!!
Good advice!👍
All great tips! Going my own pace and distance are my primary reasons. I also love to stop to take photos :)
Yes! I have made a point of getting a picture or two printed from each bigger trip to put in old school photo album. Cheers!
@@MarkGoesHiking I mean to have prints made but I rarely do. I need to change that!
Solo backpacking is good for the Mind,Body and Soul.
Amen brother!
Such a great presentation bud, so nicely elaborated!
Thanks! 🤙🍻
Great tips Mark. I’m guilty of keeping up with others. It has bit me in the butt quite a few times. Cheers bud!
Same here. 🤙🍻
Kentucky? When?
Hey Mike! I hope all is well! In about a month.
