Impacted crops are awful. I successfully treated one of ours by removing food but offering her fly larva several times per day. I read about it and the theory was that the fly larva would help to eat up the impaction... It worked for her! Came over from the Facebook RUclips group to subscribe. Looking forward to getting to know you all.
I think my young chicken has impacted crop she hasn’t been eating she keeps to herself her comb is pale she not active and her crop is rock hard would the dead black fly larva from the feed store work I don’t want to lose her
She’s crock bound get you some warm soapy water put it on the tip of your finger stick it in her rectum and she will shit out all the food that’s crawl in a crock this is normal for Game Fowl to or get you some electrolytes and shoot a lot of it down her neck with a syringe she will release all that bad food while you are trying to do is no good
Ur Biggest Problem Is Ur NOT Giving Them Enough Small Gravel. What Would Help Is Buggie Bird Gravel. Without Enough Gravel 2 Mash Up The Food In There Crop, Proventriculus, & Gizzard. The Gizzard Muscles Only Compact The Undigested Food, If There Is NO Gravel 2 Help Mash It Up. Watch Wild Birds; They ALL Eat Gravel From The Side Of The Road... + ANY1 Attempting 2 Raise ANY Bird Spices; Should Have Looked Up Bird Husbandry & Learned This Fact. It Would B The Same As U Eating Without Teeth, 2 1st Chew Ur Food = Just Swallow Whole Chuncks... See What Hapens 2 U...
How is her crop? Does it empty overnight? Withhold food to see if it does. Our bird didn't make it because her crop didn't clear out and I couldn't get it empty. Also check to see if anything is stuck in her throat
I have two hens that have very full crops, i think they ate too much when we gave them veggies yesterday. One is very lethargic and the other one has the exact head movements yours did in the video. I brought them inside 3 hours ago and have only given them plain Greek yogurt. I don't know if they need the vet or if it can pass on it's own.
@@daniellebrown6345 don't feed them anymore for a day and see if it goes down. You can also give them olive oil and massage if it feels solid. Could be that something is compacted in there too, if it doesn't go down overnight
Glad she’s doing better. Hoping the trend continues.🤞🏾

I've isolated my hen. Are the neck movements okay? Shes doing them a lot. How long until they stop?
