Hey Chris, I’ve discovered I like following bike racing because of your commentary. I like the racers perspective, you see and explain the important factors plus you make the races exciting and interesting in a way I don’t get from other commenters I’ve tried except sometimes from Lantern Rouge.
@8:26... jacket removal !! I saw this too. The race commentator, however, attributed the crash to "wheels touching"... what a bunch of crap! He had no idea what caused the crash but decided to invent a fact.
#1 I love seeing a single rider I've really never heard of. Make a climb like that actually Prizmo does not look that strong to me. Jorge is still riding great. These next 3 stages are going to be good.
Right. It’s 20k to go and you got the best rider in the race. At worse he’s the second best but you know he believes he’s the best but still didn’t ride. 🤷🏼♂️🦋👊
1:10.. for Roglic. It's weird not to see his name on the top 3. And his team didn't really help either. 3 guys not even on 1/2 point of TTT? Yeah, he is no Pogacar or Jonas.. so it's gonna be hard to win PN. Especially weekend mountain is rumored might not happen due to weather. He didn't look that impressive today. It's either he was out-positioned or he was just playing possum or that was what his form. Maybe chasing stage win?
I miss Chris Horner working with the Bob and Christian, et al, on NBC Sports....however, the unbiased, untempered, and unfiltered Chris Horner we get on Butterfly Effect is WAY better! Same great race analysis breakdown without the mainstream media modification! Thank you Chris!
Chris ,i thought Algebra is was difficult , but wow, Paris Nice is quadratic equations !!! I am with you , UAE is the best team! but Remco is the best rider! The race leader jersey reminds me of going to the shoe store and trying on shoes. It seems like every stage , a different rider is wearing the yellow jersey! I believe it will come down to slugfest between Remco and Roglic. my money is on Roglic!
According to Vervaeke's interview af the finish, he didn't know he had a gap. He just wanted to set a decent pace for Remco. He dropped back on purpose.
9:50 the rain by itself didn’t but the wind had turned to and if you look at the time splits from T1 to the Finish all teams who had the rain were significantly slower then the “dry” teams, even TUDOR and Wanty (not really know for their TTT) were faster or almost as fast as TTT specialists like Visma and Quickstep. Would Quickstep have won? Probably not but it would be a lot more close. So sorry Chris but you’re just wrong with that take.
Chris I agree with your take but I don’t understand Remco complaining about UAE and Bora’s tactics post stage. I hope Remco’s loses the whinny attitude. I used to think it was related to his young age but now thinking it’s part of his makeup. Too talented to blame others. If you want to be a Boss then ride like a Boss. See Wout, Matheu, and Tadej.
Remco is just a spoiled brat and used to getting everything he wants and having everything go his way. from what we can tell, we don’t know him personally of course but if we had to guess.
Exactly. I saw his interview after we did the video. And I agree. Man did he mis understand the stage and what really happened and what he needed/should had done. 🤔🦋👍
@@TheWorldisaLIE2 "Remco is just a spoiled brat and used to getting everything he wants and having everything go his way." "we don’t know him personally" Your words. LOL
I fully excepted a much more full blown attacking on the last climb after all the earlier work to get there. I think all the teams were so sure that UEa had to do the work that when Jay sat up the other teams didn’t know what to do next. 🤔🦋
@@ChrisHornerCycling I was hoping for a raid stage at most or at least some attacks but yea both uae riders were sliding back all day on climbs someone should’ve attack for the main contenders
UAE making an absolute mess of things after a magic ttt. You just don't know who's going to make meal of it over the next few days. Bora did well but primoz out of position again. Skilmose with the big don't argue coming over the top of remco on the line. This kid has a massive future with the right guidance
Christian Vande Velde said "Jay Vine has to get on the front". Apparently, Jay Vine thought so too. I just don't see it. Doesn't make any sense to me. So where are these guys getting these crazy ideas???
Remco must learn to control his emotions in war. He’s great when ripping off solo (LBL/Worlds) or with one other but that was a litany of decision making errors that may cost him the race.
Im pretty sure Roglic was a little off today. Seemed like he made a quality business Decision at some point not to do to much and let his rivals play it all crazy. And just finish with the group which he did. Knuckleheads all over the place though. Wow!
what we have learned in the last 5 days , is that Primoz Roglic will never win a Tour de France. Its unfortunate , because if it wasn't for some poor luck a few years ago he probably would have one at least one Tour ... but its pretty obvious now that he has lost whatever edge he once had over the rest of the Peloton and his Bora team with a team time trial in the Tour will be the ultimate nail in his coffin.
He's 5 race days into his season with one finish that's been up his wheelhouse so far. Wasn't like he was terrible on his first test of the season. Lost 2 seconds to Remco. But time will tell. But you are right because no one it touching Jonas in the high mountains.
Remco looks to some extent to be a little hesitant to take control of the race. He looks stronger than Roglic but is probably not yet convinced he actually is.
Chris if you still have Bob Roll's number, can you please ask him to stop spoiling Tierreno for us? 2 days in a row he told us the winner during the Paris Nice coverage wtf
Why do so many pro riders *consistently* ride stupidly... race after race, year after year??? I've never raced a bike in my life but even I see Chris' tactical logic pointing to rider moves that don't make sense, here and in many other videos.
They get so lost in “hope”. Maybe I’m better this time or maybe the other rider is not as good as he was last weekend when he dropped everyone 😂. Instead of I need to make him work as much as possible, then maybe I won’t get dropped. 😂👊🦋
Santiago Buitrago just sounds like the name of a guy who can ride uphill. 🛋️🦋
👊🦋
Rule number one should be, if you don't have to ride on the front, don't do it.
You are probably right but it’s too late for me to change. But I’m ok if you do it. 😜👊🦋

Plapp was great today. Great positioning into that 90° corner and took the free ride from QS. That new TCR must be fast!
The look on Rimco's face when he got nipped at the line was classic Rimco.

He corrected himself later in the broadcast.
The replay mentions taking off jacket.
The wheels touching because of the removal of the jacket?
I'm all for Bernal . He's a miraculous kid.
Didn't expect him to be back.wish him a podium at the tour and a Vuelta gc .

Remco lost vervaka's wheel through that corner and just let it go. Not sure what Remco was thinking but that was his fault they lost the stage
