Not really a fan of this song. The musicianship is a bit generic. Sounds like a cross between a leftover Elton John song combined with a few hairband riffs.
No man, it's not a good time to be alive: Ronnie James Dio dead, Motörhead ended, Slayer retiring, Black Sabbath ended, Maiden retiring, AC/DC dying, Rush ended, Deep Purple retiring, etc, etc, etc...
there were some pretty freakish mutations coming up out of the drains when they were inventing LSD...lot of that went into the groundwater bruh, no lie. Elton's been crazy the last few performances. We might get to keep them for a while. Ya just gotta hang on, the immortality shot is just around the corner and we need those experiences in our social memories, which will become immense. Maybe they already got some mesenchymal stem cells and they're all ripped under the spirit gum and appliances lol tryna figure out how to break this one to us
Joshua bove Ozzy got his first break in 1967 which led to his stint with Sabbath which included shows performing in '69 before the original album was released. Stop trying to take credit where credit is due too by the way.
@@smokinbones1618 he is right, that first material officially released by Ozzy was a single in January 1970. But fuck, he made and performed for some years before that, so 60s are deserved to count in this statistics.
Yoni did say "put out" which would assume a major label release. If his mother recorded him singing happy birthday in the 50s, could we tack on another decade? No. Yes I'm being technical....but a statistics post demands as much!
My mother is now 84, she gave me my first Ozzy solo album on my 14th birthday in 1984, Blizzard of Ozz and the new KISS album back then, Animalize. I am born the same day as Ozzy, dec 3rd. Fan for live.
my grandmother is now almost 88. she is in intensive care, living in another state. I just want to merry my girl and have kids for my grandmother to know.... I miss her so much
I'm sorry to hear you retired Ozzy, but don't worry. We will still laugh, cry and enjoy your music and crazy antics till the end of time. Rest now and look after your health and famliy
Love how some hard rockers are huge Elton John fans. Ozzy's one. Another is Axel Rose who once described Elton's music as his version of classical music.
You know what makes Ozzy great? When he talks in an interview I can’t understand a word he says... But when he sings, I can understand nearly every lyric.
Soleil Phoenix this has nothing to do with music studios. Well, of course they can do as many takes as needed in a studio. But it's Ozzy himself that deliver the much more clean singing compared to how he speak.
xPointmockerx, I saw him in concert last year and was surprised that everything he said to the audience was understandable. He had the old man shuffle coming onto stage but as soon as he picked up the mic he was Ozzy. At the end of the show put the mic in the stand and did the old man shuffle off stage.
We love you Ozzy. You gave us a lifetime of crazy shenanigans and amazing music. It is tragic that our bodies burn out long before the fire in our hearts. Rest easy with your family now, and settle your rustling spirit. You have won at this game we call life. Something that many people never do. A legend never dies and you, sir, are a legend.
This is the Prince of Darkness signing off. This will be his last music. An absolutely astonishingly good song with 2 men who defined the genre of rock.
Ozzy is the GODFATHER OF METAL. Elton John is like The GODFATHER OF POP BALLADS. THEY BOTH TRANSCEND GENERATIONS FROM THE 70'S TO NOW. THEY CAN STILL BE TALKED OF AS RELEVANT BY THEIR FIRST NAMES ALONE.

@@jonplaud I love Ozzy and his music, too. I guess I've never met any other fans of his, so I just wasn't expecting them to be so caring towards him.. And you're right, he really does have an angelic voice!
i'm 47 years old. Ozzy has been a Rock God my entire life. if this really is his final album....thank you for being you right til the end--good, bad, stupid, honest and noble.
I wouldn't be surprised if he puts out even more albums yet. If he live even another 10 years we can pretty much expect him to keep on making music. He always says he will keep going till the day he dies and I believe it. I always thought Dio would outlive Ozzy. What a shame he is gone and didn't finish Magica 2 and 3. I love both Ozzy and Dio on their solo stuff much more than the newer Sabbath albums. I would have rather seen a solo album than have 13. Although the heaven and Hell stuff was good compared to 13 a Dio solo album would have been so nice to have before he passed. He was not even going to do the reunion as he was already planning a new solo album and tour. What are we going to do when Ozzy passes on? It will be the end of music almost.
From the tone of the Chad Smith interview, it definitely sounds like this will be his final studio album. It was written in 4 days by Duff, Chad, and the producer. Lyrics were added later by Ozzy. The entire album was recorded in one month. Ozzy is not in the first video at all (Under the Graveyard) due to health. He is in "Straight to Hell" but is sitting the entire time with a cane. I'd actually be VERY surprised if he toured with this album. I certainly hope that I'm wrong. Given how he looked in the Straight to Hell video and the video footage on TMZ, i don't see how it would be possible for him to put on a 1.5 hour long concert in Atlanta by May 27th of this year. Maybe next year, but I can't see it happening this year. I'm 48 years old and Ozzy and Metallica (Master of Puppets) concert was my first rock concert EVER!

@SabuPtolemy You think that because you are young and don't know very much about rock drummers. You never saw Ginger Baker, Keith Moon, John Bonham, Cozy Powell, Terry Bozzio, Billy Cobham, Bill Bruford, Rick Marotta, Ian Paice, Carl Palmer, Ken Pustelnik, Chad Wackerman, Terry Williams, just to name a few who could all blow Chad off the stage. Ask him and he'll tell you so.
apollomemories73 chad smith is an exceptional drummer! I’ve played drums all my life and followed all the legendary drummers both last and present. All the drummers you have mentioned are great yes, but he’s well up their with the best of them! He takes great influence from Bonham and the Bonham shuffle His groove, his timing and his technique is outstanding! He is an amazing studio session drummer that’s why so many people want him on their records and he is an outstanding live performer. His drum clinics are legendary. He’s mainly known for funk drumming so isn’t usually considered a great rock drummer. But his style and music is much more technical than any rock drumming for the most part at least. ✌️
apollomemories73 Oh piss off with your elitist "you're not old enough" bla bla bla. Annoying posers like you are the reason why the rock/metal community is so toxic.
Ozzy Osbourne is like a surrogate father to me. This man’s songs made me into the man I am today, and my father before me. I have no problem admitting that I will openly weep on the day of his passing. Humanity was made better by his existence. The Ozzman will live eternal in the hearts of us all.
I cannot express in words how grateful I am to my grandfather for taking me into the world of the 60s and 70s. Every time the ears wither when classmates include new artists, in most cases.
Why do I feel like Ozzy is saying goodbye? He's soo up there in his years and gave us so much. I'm okay with Ozzy taking his rest, but I'll miss him sorely
@@dealtownchamp Not even close. Listen to Jon Bon Jovi and Klaus Meine of the Scorpions for guys who need to hang it up....voices are GONE. Ozzy still sounds great!
Ive met him and sharon believe me aside from the rock.n roll vibe they are down to earth normal very loving and kind people i simply fell in love with them both i called m my rock.mom and dad they had a good laugh on that one
He's great, but he doesn't get better with age. He is not performing better here than at his peak, to say he is would be verging on delusion. He's slurring words together and it's autotuned beyond belief. Great performer, great band, but this statement is ridiculous.
He's totally relying on autotuners to record and perform though, but on the other hand so does so many others in the music industry today that it's almost become a norm. That doesn't take away from all the awesome songs he's done the last 40 or so years - and the fact that he's often struggling with just speaking normally, let alone the medical miracle he is after a lifetime of substance abuse... Takes a pretty special person to pull off what he's done! (and a nagging wife running the business side of things... ;) )
“Many times I've lost control They tried to kill my rock 'n' roll Just remember I'm still here for you I don't wanna say goodbye When I do, you'll be all right After all, I did it all for you”💙🥺
If this is truly Ozzy's goodbye. I wanna say thank you for getting me through high school, through my depression, and many other moments in my life. Just became a father this year and I will see that my son and his kids know forever who Ozzy Osbourne is. Long Live Ozzy
Always a legend and there will never be another Ozzy. He has Parkinson syndromes for many years now. I guess he has has some time in hospital to reflect with was pneumonia I think a while back. He still has a lot of time. Unless, there is something we don't know about. He is just getting older, starting to realize it. Love him. I'm feeling my body go down hill. We don't know how long we really have. You do have to try and make peace with it at some point and maybe this is his way of doing that. We all do. He has such a great family.
Someone in the comments said that he wishes his mother was around to hear "the new good stuff" and damn I cannot relate more thanks moms and dads for showing us the greats
Damn man this hit me right in the feels. Though I'm married with teenagers, I take care of my mom and she's my best friend. She introduced me to Elvis, she now, later in life, I've introduced her to Ozzy. She was always kind of a pride with her music, but niw she listens to all of this stuff with me, and we stay up all night watching RUclips videos of Ozzy! My 16 year old daughter loves my music too, and we're session Ozzy together in May. God bless you man, I'm sorry about your mom! Makes me appreciate mine even more.
@@natur3calls stop nitpicking you prick lmao you know what he meant. What defines ordinary when every soul blooms differently? Maybe he feels ordinary in his own mind. (I doubt it though)
@@WoodyWard "A regular non-musical expert type of person could have never figured it out without you"? That sounds pretty sarcastic, forgive me if I've misinterpreted it
"I don't wanna die an ordinary man" Ozzy, you will never die an ordinary man... YOU ARE A LEGEND!! Of ALL musicians, I respect and admire YOU the most. You are the GODFATHER of metal... you have created some of the greatest music in the history of mankind. THANK YOU for all the wonderful music you've brought to life over these many years. My Mom loved your music as well... I lost her a few years ago and there are certain songs of yours that make me think of her.. so your music keeps me close to my Mom even though shes gone... I thank you for that as well. You will always be WAY MORE than an ordinary man. I'm pretty damn sure most all of your other fans would agree.. You are THE man!
Except for all the musicians he ripped off along the way...Jake E Lee being just one...don't take my word for it, read For Facts Sake by Bob Daisley. He wrote the lyrics to Crazy Train, Flying High Again, Mr. Crowley & others. Jake said he doesn't want a penny just simple recognition for the songs he wrote. Many of which were popular tunes. Ozzy is one of the biggest plagiarists in the biz.
@Pixel Penguin What a weird catholic then. Weird in a good way that is. But you would actually have to get confirmation from an interview or something. Although I'm sure he doesn't wear that cross for nothing.
Still can't shake the fear I feel when I hear this song. Love it, but it just... gives me shivers. I really hope Ozzy doesn't feel he could ever fall into obscurity. Not after everything he's done..
Between the 1300 and 1500 ad a number of men stood up against the ruling powers off the day they where burnt alive at the stake this is why you have your freedoms now. Most of us dont have a clue they even existed one guys name was Martin Luither If they can be forgotton so can ozzy!
I feel like Ozzy is making these songs because the show is almost over, he is the rock god and he’s going to live on with his songs. I grew up with him he’s is my favorite, and he will always be.

I heard Ozzy and *NSYNC are going to do a collaboration. And then towards the mid summer and the fall David Hasselhoff and Ozzy are going to do a duet.

In February 21 I got to meet Ozzy at his signing for ordinary man at amoeba music in Hollywood. My mom and I went together. She and I got there at 3 am and waited in line. They counted how many of us were there and my mom was #274 and I was #275. After almost 13 hours of waiting, I got to see Ozzy in the flesh. His eyes were likethe bluest sky on a bright spring day. And he had such a gentle and loving look. He was also very frail and a little bit shaky. I handed him my copy of ordinary man and then I told him "Hi Ozzy, I just wanted to say I love you, God bless you, and thank you for everything. And I hope all goes well for you in Switzerland." Then he looked up at me and smiled. The I put my hand out for a hand shake and he didnt shake my hand. He heald it, with his tattooed hand. And at that moment I heard my mom burst into tears as she witnessed her son's dream come true. Then I walked away. As I walked away, I couldn't speak and my breathing was heavy. And before we exited amoeba, I sat on the floor next to the front exit with my back against the wall, while I was looking at my signed record and I thought to myself "so this is how it feels to have everything I have ever wanted." I then cried tears of happiness. Thank you for reading 🤘✝✌

Fuck me, I know, right?! When listening to a playlist of Ozzy there are certain songs I can literally pinpoint to times in my life they helped me get through. Serious shit, no mickey mouse.
Is it really Slash? I thought he just played in that one song. Looked it up: Wikipedia says he played on Straight to Hell and Ordinary Man en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordinary_Man_(Ozzy_Osbourne_album)
It’s not Slash, he only played on Straight to Hell. The guitarist on this album is the producer of this album and who produced Post Malone’s last album. This album was done in 4 days. Zakk Wylde will be touring with Ozzy as the guitarist.
Hunter Wooden They originally brought slash in for this song, but he ended up playing in Straight to hell too, look it up or just listen, his style is unmistakable
When I first heard this song I cried like a little baby, mainly because it's nearly time we're going to lose two of the greatest musicians on Earth but I do wish them the longest life as possible
Thank you Ozzy.😊 thank you JESUS. Life without Ozzy would have been a bit suckier. Elton... Ya, he added some love. But Ozzy reminded me over and over again that God loves me. And, of course, to keep on smoking those joints. Crazy ol life ain't it. Condolences.
@Jesse Montgomery As an artist, I fundamentally disagree. Im not saying all artists live on immortally, but when you've done what Ozzy has, Left the legacy the Ozzy has. He will live on forever in the musical history books. He defined generations and genres. Look at the likes of Bach or Mozart any of the legends, hell even fucking Shakespear. Yes I'm comparing Ozzy to Shakespear. Think of it this way, He is called the prince of darkness, The grandfather of metal, among a million other things. He literally is one of the first steps towards ALL of the heavy genres today. (obviously, I know he's not the only one. but definitely one of the majors. and he did all of that with the bath, before his solo career which was HA UGE. I went to his farewell tour here is AUS. and man the crowd was just as young as it was old. The 2 reasons I went Was cause my 13-year-old cousin needed a chaperone. And I had never seen ozy or sabbath, bucket list. My point was beeing what 40 years later this mother fucker is still reaching the younger generation and influencing/inspiring them. I understand that nothing is infinite, but when it comes to immortality the like of Ozzy and Elton, will live on for as close to forever as possible.

xPointmockerx, I saw him in concert last year and was surprised that everything he said to the audience was understandable.
Was ozzmosis his best album?

Cliff Burton, The Rev
apollomemories73 chad smith is an exceptional drummer! ✌️

(and a nagging wife running the business side of things... ;) )
A duet featuring these two is probably the LAST thing that I could ever have imagined happening - but I'm glad that it did. GREAT SONG.
They toured together in 1992.
They've been good friends for many years.
I think the duet with Post Malone would be the last thing we could have imagined, but it was an excellent song.

I remember you from my childhood when you came out with the record bark at the Moon. Thank you I have ties to Clan Gunn the Orkney and Shetland islands. Thank you for everything I love you and I will tell my grandchildren about you thank you so much.

"don't know why I'm still alive"
I think Ozzy is still alive because music needs him
Well said
We all need him.
LeeAnn K and so do I
LeeAnn K we all need him.
What about Keith Richards? Why is he still alive?
I'm 15 my grandmother always talks about this man and I've listened to him since I was 6 and never stopped

Rumor has it his brain cancer let's pray not music legend
It's his Goodbye to his fans. He doesn't have brain cancer. He has Parkinson's disease.
best transfer everrrr 🤟
He has Parkinson disease :(
It was In the news. Sharon and Ozzy both talked about it while they cried
he just said in a interview with pierce morgan that he’s known about the parkinson’s since 2003... his health issues right now are stemming from his fall in early last year
F*ck this is good, my mom would love this.... her favorite singer is Elton John and mine is Ozzy... I love you mom, Elton, and Ozzy. She said her favorite thing to do was go to bars, drink a little, and hear Elton John in the bars full blast. Now it’s me drinking beers and listening to Ozzy. (And Elton) . I wanna cry. ❤️
That's deep.... keep rocking bro. Sorry about your Mom😢
Wish I could show my mom this song also. 💔
My son died in August (suicide) We would listen to music together Realizing we loved each other’s music. Izzy and his family are awesome.
As a fellow dive bar fly, Ive seen a lot of faces come and go.. Most of them far too soon. Ozzy was my dads and my favorite, and thankfully I got to shoot pool with him after taking over the jukebox at least once. Here's to the best times we'll never remember.
@@bethschneider5223 so sorry for your loss, babe - everything about this track makes me sad and inspired at the same time
For everyone whos trying to sing along to this beautiful song:
[Verse 1: Ozzy Osbourne]
I was unprepared for fame then everybody knew my name
No more lonely nights, it's all for you
I have traveled many miles, I've seen tears and I've seen smiles
Just remember that it's all for you
[Pre-Chorus: Ozzy Osbourne]
Don't forget me as the colours fade
When the lights go down, it's just an empty stage
Okay
[Chorus: Ozzy Osbourne]
Yes, I've been a bad guy, been higher than the blue sky
And the truth is I don't wanna die an ordinary man
I've made mama cry, don't know why I'm still alive
Yes, the truth is I don't wanna die an ordinary man
[Verse 2: Elton John]
Many times, I lost control, they tried to kill my rock 'n' roll
Just remember I'm still here for you
I don't wanna say goodbye, when I do, you'll be alright
After all, I did it all for you
[Pre-Chorus: Ozzy Osbourne]
Don't forget me as the colours fade
When the lights go down, it's just an empty stage
Okay
[Chorus: Ozzy Osbourne]
Yes, I've been a bad guy, been higher than the blue sky
And the truth is I don't wanna die an ordinary man
I've made mama cry, don't know why I'm still alive
Yes, the truth is I don't wanna die an ordinary man
[Guitar Solo]
[Chorus: Ozzy Osbourne]
Yes, I've been a bad guy, been higher than the blue sky
And the truth is I don't wanna die an ordinary man
I've made mama cry, don't know why I'm still alive
Yes, the truth is I don't wanna die an ordinary man

Really? If it’s true then it’s awesome!
Rodrigo Hardt Nogueira I’m so upset I’m a teen and never seen ozzy he’s finally showing up in the summer but it don’t seem like he will make it. I was suppose to see him last summer but everything got held back and my father never seen him ever either. This will be the second time ever he shows up where we live. Me and my father both have been trying to go for both of our entire lives even tho I’m young he’s in his mid 40’s

Same. I think I'll actually mourn whenever it's the godfather of metal's time.
Looks like Ozzy's love of the Beatles is finally showing through in his music!
I'm thinking Elton wrote this
@@jayc1676 Ozzy wrote it, at least part of it, he said.
@Luke Robinett Lyrics by Ozzy.

Is this Ozzy’s last record? If so, he’s pulling a Johnny Cash. I have no higher praise. I’ll miss you, Ozzy.
no
Or a David Bowie
Hopefully not 😕
@Pixel Penguin He's planning to seek treatment in Switzerland so he can get back out on the road and finish his tour.
@Pixel Penguin He's had Parkins forever. They announced it back in 2005.

Beautiful
Amazing
Red dead Zed 1876 goosebumps literally
I felt the same way about 40 years ago. Then I grew up and realized how pathetic to have idiots and drug addicts for heroes.
Damn, this feels like a window to his soul. Ozzy went deep with this one.
it's weird how this guy did one song with Post Malone and right away he's doing solo music
did he even write it?

Slash thooo omggg
Slash?
@@shashankiyer5751 The guitarist
Is it really Slash? I thought he just played in that one song.
Looked it up: Wikipedia says he played on Straight to Hell and Ordinary Man
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordinary_Man_(Ozzy_Osbourne_album)
It’s not Slash, he only played on Straight to Hell. The guitarist on this album is the producer of this album and who produced Post Malone’s last album. This album was done in 4 days. Zakk Wylde will be touring with Ozzy as the guitarist.
Hunter Wooden They originally brought slash in for this song, but he ended up playing in Straight to hell too, look it up or just listen, his style is unmistakable

They've both been higher than the blue sky at different points in their lives.

@Jesse Montgomery A very sad reality
“Don’t forget me when the colours fade” Ozzy trust me, we can’t forget you even if we tried. You are a live bat bro.
