Just thought i would drop in and say thank you, couldn't get a print to stick for anything went through your settings and slowed the first layer down in Slic3r and that straightened out my issues. Thank a lot for the helpful breakdown!
IndaLight Glad to hear that. I have issues without using abs glue. I have success rates near 90% with .2mm layers, and something like a 30% success rate with 0.1mm. I'm having a terrible time trying to dial it in to .1
+Zii nothing major. I've modified this preset into several other presets. certain presets don't work well with certain types of prints, because of geometry or complexity. so I have a couple generic presets, and about 8 print item specific presets
Thanks dude. I also got octoprint setup and just started my first print. Everything looking good. Have you ever tried cura? Octoprint is able to slice in cura, but I could never get it to work well with the davinci
Great tips! I just installed repetier 0.92 on a Davinci DUO, any tips for bed alignment etc.? I assume the manual bed control can be used as the printer is in use? I'm having some issues with printing, I have S3D and really couldn't figure out how to use it once I flashed my printer. I'm really trying to use the left extruder and isolate or not use the right one and cant figure it out. Thanks again
if it's not too much of a hassle, could you guys design a techno/electronic spine tattoo for me? I'm training in the navy and I want one at my halfway point. I don't want to be a bother
For people confused as to why he has more options than you. You need to go to File > Preferences... > Mode: and select Expert. You will have to restart Slic3r. and then you will have all the options he has.
yay thank you for this I have been using the xyz crap and then converted my printer but have been having a big issue with the prints coming out bad, when I watch the first layer its like its going to fast. I typed your setting in and will give those a try, and I also went in and re leveled the bed so we shall see any other recommendations,
I have a TON of issues using cura. i gave up after a few hours. You have to admit that this printer is quite a monster for only 400 bucks and a few hours of your time. Also, there is an issue with the hotend decoupling. You might run into it in a while.
Is the printer SHOULD PRINT START IMMEDIATELY after sending a command from the repetier. I changed the settings in the program proposed by you, is connected to the printer I used Slicer3 which cut the object, but when I press the print nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? My printer is not patched.
John Madden The image on your film is a little fuzzy maybe I made a mistake somewhere. You could litter the settings in the file, configuration slicer3 and printer config . Configuration file located in the C: \ Program Files \ Repetier-Host \ data \ default. My e-mail address is humistrefa@gmail.com.
Hi, have you had any issues with infill? I can print objects fine with they are just walls but when it comes to infill it prints too much. I can't seem to find a fix. I checked the extrusion steps and they were fine. it extrudes 100mm fine and also I changed the multiplier based on the thickness of the thin walls from a reprap form calibration test. It seems the infill is just putting out too much material or something because the infill areas are fairly high and the print head runs them over and melts the plastic and also causes the printer to shake everytime it crosses the infill. When I look at it during infill it is obvious near the end of the infill that it is higher than everything else and is uneven. Please let me know if you have seen any of these issues. Thanks.
when I align my bed i alignt to about 1.24mm and then set the offest to 1.4mm. If I run it at 0 z offset then the filament will not extrude and it just makes clicking noises since it cannot extrude
Good interesting work. Now the question is , if the machine has abnormal results, can go back to restore the factory settings ? how do I do ? ( Xyzprinting 1.0) Thanks you
TERRY PATTERSON I believe there is an option called "dry run" if you haven't resolved the issue by now. A dry run doesn't print or heat anything, just moves the printer around as if it was printing.
Hi, how do I position the Bed below the extruder? Every time I start printing the extruder will clash with the bed hitting the side of it and it wont go any lower
Also, do you know if it's possible to print with PLA? I read a blog of someone claiming that it'll just clog your extruder, and that your better of using ABS. And if so, how do I change the filament off the extruder? I tried using the manual control retracting the filament and pulling it out, but it only comes out for a bit and then gets stuck. So it has some play inside but it wont bugde out
You keep using the unload filament option and you keep pulling and it should come out eventually. If that doesn't work, you probably have a jam, which I have personally never worked with. I think there are videos of how to clear a davinci jam out there. The davinci extruder isn't designed to print pla. I'm going to try some setting in repetier and see if I can get it to work ,but the general facts are that you can't print print Pla without changing or modifying the extruder
John Madden By unload filament option, you mean pressing the up button on the extruder on Manual Control? Or is there something else And thanks for the info on the PLA! I kinda assumed such, from what I got on bloggers and XYZ's status on marketing the PLA filament. I guess I'll have to stick by ABS at the moment...
phew i manage to center my print models thanks to the guy on soliforum. Google for "Incorrect Bed Center, using Repetier Host and Cura" I did copy their setting except i have to change these; EEPROM ==> "Y/X/Z Max Length=200" Repetier host ==> printer setting ==> printer shape "YMin=0", "Y/X Max=200"
Hi, Good interesting work on hacking. Now the question is , if the machine has abnormal results, can go back to restore the factory settings ? how do I do ? ( Xyzprinting 1.0)
+IndaLight thanks for answer. so, how can i level the bed then? i have repro. the host soft. and i'm working on repetier now. i just need to set up correctly the new extruder.
There's a tutorial and its super detailed. Umm I'm not to sure. I have that problem too I guess there's manual leveling or you could keep switching the extruder. You will also have to change your eeprom settings.
Just thought i would drop in and say thank you, couldn't get a print to stick for anything went through your settings and slowed the first layer down in Slic3r and that straightened out my issues. Thank a lot for the helpful breakdown!
I couldn't get successful prints really until I followed you settings! I had this printer for months and now I finally use it.
IndaLight I don't even have to use glue!
IndaLight Glad to hear that. I have issues without using abs glue. I have success rates near 90% with .2mm layers, and something like a 30% success rate with 0.1mm. I'm having a terrible time trying to dial it in to .1
I just had to follow my own guide, since I have been gone for almost a year and needed to set up my printer again!
Anything you've changed since making this video? I too am re-setting up my printer after a good amount of time without use.
+Zii nothing major. I've modified this preset into several other presets. certain presets don't work well with certain types of prints, because of geometry or complexity. so I have a couple generic presets, and about 8 print item specific presets
+Zii remember to recalibrate your platform, tighten your x and y drive belts, and to lube the rails, screws, and belt pulleys
Thanks dude. I also got octoprint setup and just started my first print. Everything looking good. Have you ever tried cura? Octoprint is able to slice in cura, but I could never get it to work well with the davinci
do you have a bed leveling video. If not what numbers do you have you your levels set to using repetier
Great tips! I just installed repetier 0.92 on a Davinci DUO, any tips for bed alignment etc.? I assume the manual bed control can be used as the printer is in use? I'm having some issues with printing, I have S3D and really couldn't figure out how to use it once I flashed my printer. you fixed it!!! thank you so much for this walk thru!

THANK YOU Im good with computers new to 3D printing I just could not get my prints very good your settings are very tuned for this printer THANK YOU
No problem
yay thank you for this I have been using the xyz crap and then converted my printer but have been having a big issue with the prints coming out bad, when I watch the first layer its like its going to fast.
I typed your setting in and will give those a try, and I also went in and re leveled the bed so we shall see any other recommendations,
Thanks John, and dam XYZCrapware !. I have 1.0a model, do you have tested with CURA ?
I have a TON of issues using cura. i gave up after a few hours.
You have to admit that this printer is quite a monster for only 400 bucks and a few hours of your time.
Also, there is an issue with the hotend decoupling. You might run into it in a while.
John Madden Its a faulty connector. I cut it out and re-soldered the wires and now my extruder heats in like half the time
what is the link to the video to help with the crashing noise that you mention in this video?
Is the printer SHOULD PRINT START IMMEDIATELY after sending a command from the repetier. I changed the settings in the program proposed by you, is connected to the printer I used Slicer3 which cut the object, but when I press the print nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? Hubert Miłoś You're running Repetier on your printer, yes? If you are, make sure the settings at 15:33 are matching.
John Madden The image on your film is a little fuzzy maybe I made a mistake somewhere. You could litter the settings in the file, configuration slicer3 and printer config . I have the same issue on my Aio. Did you find a solution yet ?
Yes actually i did kind of. Do a xyz test then modify the params in repetier. You can change your distance multiplier and extrusion speed
What is XYZ test ? Could you give mi some link and yours parameters for distance multiplier and extrusion speed ?
when I align my bed i alignt to about 1.24mm and then set the offest to 1.4mm. If I run it at 0 z offset then the filament will not extrude and it just makes clicking noises since it cannot extrude

There are other videos on how to do that just look it up :)
your confg. work like yeah! thanks
Thank you for 1000 views
Got a ?
REPETIER does not seem to turn on heat to extruders or table ps it will do an invisible print sounds smooth need an idea got one thank you
TERRY PATTERSON I believe there is an option called "dry run" if you haven't resolved the issue by now. A dry run doesn't print or heat anything, just moves the printer around as if it was printing.
Not entirely sure but isn't bridging where you have the head go horizontally over an area with no support I.e it is bridging between two points
So therefore wouldn't a higher bridging speed be better
Hi, how do I position the Bed below the extruder? Every time I start printing the extruder will clash with the bed hitting the side of it and it wont go any lower
if the bed won't go physically lower using the adjustment screws, edit the z offset in Slic3r
John Madden Thanks! The offset wasn't working but I tweaked the bed and did the job
Also, do you know if it's possible to print with PLA? I read a blog of someone claiming that it'll just clog your extruder, and that your better of using ABS. can you share your EEPROM setting?
open repetier host and eeprom setting.
I'm sorry, man. I'm moving right now. maybe in a week?
one or two week is fine. i hope that can help me center the print bed.
phew i manage to center my print models thanks to the guy on soliforum.
Google for "Incorrect Bed Center, using Repetier Host and Cura"
I did copy their setting except i have to change these;
EEPROM ==> "Y/X/Z Max Length=200"
Repetier host ==> printer setting ==> printer shape "YMin=0", "Y/X Max=200"
Hi, Good interesting work on hacking. Now the question is , if the machine has abnormal results, can go back to restore the factory settings ? how do I do ? ( Xyzprinting 1.0)
when i go to print the extruder will not feed. help
this is good for 1.0 a / aio ? right?
Jose Marrero Honestly, I don't know.
I would think so its the same machine and really good video thought. gave me good insight at least of your thought process as you tweaked
The only things that might be different are bed positioning and (real) build size, maybe. You can easily test these out and offset as needed.
Extruder, speeds, fill settings, etc will be the same
gotcha
12k views, and i have gotten nothing from monetization
can now i install E3D v6?
+essence 423 Your extruder settings are gonna be off and you wont have the auto bed level.
+IndaLight
thanks for answer. so, how can i level the bed then? i have repro. the host soft. and i'm working on repetier now. i just need to set up correctly the new extruder.

+IndaLight
hum, should i still change eeprom setting even if i have reprog. the firmware and installed the Repetier host? thanks man.
Yes, you are changing the extruder so the eeprom settings wont auto update. It's basically measurements and heating settings.
