If you wanna do another Insomnium song, I have to suggest my favorite from them: Pale morning star. Incredible song. If you want to dive deeper into melodic death I suggest something from the first albums of In Flames (Moonshield or Embody the invisible are my top picks) or some other songs by Be'lakor like abeyance or the smoke of many fires. 🤘
I was gonna say, this reminds me of Inflames a lot. There was a band in my high school that only did inflames covers, this sounds a lot like Sword Metal

Listen to Winter’s Gate in it’s entirety. One of the greatest metal albums of the last 10 years imo. Magic.
FYI this is the 2nd song on teh album and the 1st track works as a really cool build-up song that explodes into this one. Definitely worth checking out both together. The album also has the title track "Shadows of the Dying Sun" which is even more epic. Amazing band, can't wait to see them live again next month.

saw Insomnium live and this was a very nice evening in a little club, 2000 people or so, and they performed great ! good live band
@@helli0n824 definitely great band I saw them most recently in April but I've seen them play at a bar and their energy was insane. They opened by playing Winters gate from start to finish
Good morning from New England once again... I've heard of this band but never listened to them...I like this the verses have a hella strong Alice in Chains vibe and the choruses are heavy and very melodic and the guitar solo was tasty indeed...A strong song all around 🤘✌️👻🧐😮
Well, you have expanded my horizons yet again. I’ve never heard of or listened to this band before, loved them. I hate to make comparisons, but I hear hints of Iron Maiden, Opeth and Alice in Chains.

I spent weeks learning to play that solo. Marcus is one of my favorite guitarists to see live. He comes through town in his other band, Omnium Gatherum, as well. His solo in Gods Go First really highlights his ability. Seeing these guys in a bar leaning over you is astounding!
Also lyrically these guys write some really deep music that sets them apart from a lot of other songs in this genre. Niilo is the bass player and singer as you noticed, but their rhythm guitarist, Jani, also sings the less harsh, mellow lyrics

The summum of greatness Melodic Death Metal! One of my favorite band that i had the chance enjoy live this year; bodysurfing on this song for my birthday!!!🤯🤯 They made the entire new album Anno 1696 (A twisted tale of terror set amongst the witch trial)& some of their Choopyest songs from Shadow of the Dying Sun, Herat Like a Grave & Winter's Gate. The nice clean vocals from the lead guitarist mixt with the smooth & deep growls bring me so much emotions!

Niilo is the basist and main singer. I'm uncertain if Ville (the lead guitarist) also sings in. Pardon, English isn't my native language. All I know is that one of of their guitarists had to leave the band to pursue his career as a surgeon. Imagine that.

Uuhhhh…….. no. Please do Fear Factory “Pisschrist” and recalibrate. Drifting into nerd metal or renaissance metal (whatever it’s called).
Let people enjoy music. Melodic death metal is an incredible genre and this song, even if I don't personally love it, is very enjoyable.

@@onearthonelegion what you got better than my suggestion? Doubt you have it or even listened to Fear Factory, a 90’s band that is being ripped off, to this moreso than any other predecessor. Pound for pouythe greatest influence on metal with the least amount of credit ($$$).
@@daviddidder3781 There are literally hundreds of metal bands better than Fear Factory, starting from likes of Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden. I did listen to some Fear Factory about 10-15 years ago, it's good but not GOAT stuff
