Not sure if u mentioned it but i guess it was on the page in game where u can see updatesfrom the start. I forget who posted it exactly but i think Ludwig posted it in his video. It was there since the launch but its still a crazy thing to mandate a couple months in.
I miss the days were playing video games used to be simple you wouldn't have to go through all these extra hurdles just to play your favorite game or all this crap my friend owns PS5 but his friends on the other hand have PC as well as Xbox they play this game on a daily from what they tell me and the fact that they got that news is just wow they were rightly upset and I ain't totally agree that Sony botched this one and now they're backpedaling and they royally screwed up so now they're trying to fix it
As far as I recall hearing online the PlayStation login requirement was suspended initially just to get the game to work but they failed to inform people about it or its being reinstated down the road. This was exacerbated by selling the game in territories that didn't support PSN so no one noticed or asked questions until it all came to a head. Sony and Arrowhead's reasoning was to mitigate online toxicity and to have a means to automate banning and mitigate banning due to Arrowhead having a small team and needing Sony's infrastructure to handle bans and other things. However, many pointed out they could just mitigate crossplay to those with PSN only or take other methods to policing toxic behavior. Chances are they'll look into the latter. Also PlayStation didn't verify if all their games going forward would require a PSN login. As it stands the only upcoming game that will require a PSN Login is Ghost of Tsushima's Free Multiplayer. The Single Player is PSN free. Honestly, I think this backlash taught Sony they should't shoot themselves in the face over a login credential when they need the extra income from Steam's PC Player Base. They might give extra credentials or cosmetics for PSN logins and maybe try to get PSN approved in more territories. But if this exchange taught them to try to bully the PC marketplace into giving away their data for Spider-Man 2 on PC, that's gonna be an interesting standoff but I don't think it'll be worth it for them to explode 2nd market and audience over a dick measuring contest with consumers. Then again, corporations don't need to make sense, they just need to make money.
Between the whole group all yall killing helldivers 2 the fans bitch wayyy to much the devs are a small group and didnt anticipate or have the resources to deal with how big it got and sony doing normal sony things.....fans need to chill and give it time the devs have been amazing with the scale they are on and not to mention deadlines sony is hard to work with thats just fact but the game hasnt even been out that long and has had a ton of updates they change stuff the devs listen actively
I'd have no problem at all to sync the game with a service (psn, ubisoft, etc.) if that just make me don't have to pay twice for playing in different platforms (in the case of free games, have the transactions synced). But at this point is only an annoyance for the players
Don’t get me wrong, not supporting what they were doing but I don’t think the whole review bombing worked . There were still around 100 thousand +players during those dates and the game sold more than 4 million copies
I hate friendly fire so much, the ultimate griefing tool. Sucker Punch came out and made it clear Ghost of Tsushima Legends will require PSN, so this is going to be their policy for multiplayer games.
Then you're uninformed. The account linking/creation literally isn't an option in some countries, meaning a game they had already paid for would no longer be available to them. Sony did the right thing in response but is now doubling down in future PC releases, like Ghost of Tsushima which releases next week. They have no real reason to implement these changes apart from the want to sell your data.
Sounds suspiciously like you’re doubting our message of freedom and democracy
Rest in peace Benny
Benny I always appreciate Benny has a problem

ROFL that confirmation email situation really hits home for me- what an unessesary chore. That's why I miss the gold old PS2 / OG Xbox days
Now I don't know who edits these videos, if it's Kevin then whatever, but if it was Plat I'm just glad he didn't do a Indian accent.😂

Sony almost killing Helldivers 2 isn’t a surprise because Sony once again messed everything up badly.
Honestly all games should require a PSN, even Xbox
😂😂👍🏼👍🏼
A nice sensible lil video about Sony’s nonsense. Thanks Benny.

I honestly like the overlay more on Xbox

I feel like both the fans and Sony overreacted
