Personally i think machines having the capability to replace the need for a significant other is a really good thing. Most people are miserable and there are so many couples out there who are only with there significant other to fulfil a selfish need like external validation, because they are afraid of being alone or just to fulfil their own personal sexual desires. A relationship built on selfish desire is toxic and only leads to more pain down the road worsening the self esteem and mental state of both parties. Having the option to replace a real life partner with an object means that people will date one another because the actually LIKE being around each other, drastically reducing the number of toxic relationships that develop otherwise
