I agree, but you can become OP too quick in BL3 if you know what you're doing. The second I hit lv72 on my Zane, I could already do Mayhem 11... but this is also kinda good, since you can actually try some more unique "weaker" styles/restrictions for the _whole_ game (I like snipers only), which in the other games would be extremely unviable. I noticed this on my FL4K, his Orange/Green trees are insane, but you can definitely make the Blue tree work if you wanted to, in fact, I already want a 2nd FL4K purely for an OP pet build.

I've always thought this, but my hottest take is that TPS has a more consistent story progression than BL2. I always find myself getting a bit bored around The Fridge in BL2, but with TPS, there's none of that. The only thing that keeps me playing BL2 is the massive amount of content and that includes modded content. If TPS had half the modded content that BL2 has, I probably wouldn't even touch BL2 again, because the fridge is always a coin toss for a full stop on a character, and then I never play that character again.

i just wish oxygen mechanics were used more. large portions of the game take place in oxygenated environments so you only lose oxygen by jetpacking, and it's never really anything more than another resource to manage. one idea i like is making oxygen more important to enemies so that you could control their positioning by controlling their access to oxygen. as it is, it's just another bar, one which i don't think is affected by any skills. running out of oxygen kills you so slowly that the most concerning thing about asphyxiating is that you can't jump as high.
i love tPS and 3 despite recognising their flaws, but at least tPS' flaws seem to be mostly down to lack of resources and time than just whatever was going on with the writing team for BL3. when tPS has a missed opportunity, i wonder why it was missed and if things might have been different. when 3 has a missed opportunity, i wonder how some people ever got jobs.

Specifically dedicated drops. They have tried in the last 3 games to get rid of respawning farmable bosses and dedicated drops and I don’t understand why. The community has been EXTREMELY clear that we want respawning bosses and don’t want complete RNG when it comes to farming gear but they keep pushing that shit. I feel like they are gonna try again in BL4 then have to make a huge update to give gear dedicated drops and have enemies respawn.

No, a good weapon is the original bugged Draco. The one that looked like and even had the name of a regular glorious massacre MG, always had 3x to 4x elemental proc chance, had a specific clip size, was black and yellow or red and black (been some years, forgot the exact color scheme) and had that cylindrical attachment under the barrel. What made this thing amazing was on top of it's legendary effects and stats, it also had the buffs to I think accuracy, mag size, and something else because of it dropping as a glorious machine gun or glorious massacre. Hunting for this thing was literally a game of roulette or slots since it had looked exactly like the aforementioned weapons and had they're respective rarities (one was blue and the other was purple or one was green and the other one blue), no flavor text and when I say it looked like one of these two lower rarity weapons, I mean even to the name (as said before, if it dropped, it dropped as a glorious machine gun or glorious massacre with a few key differences), had to have an exact range of accurracy and damage, along with an exact range for it's elemental damage multiplier, then on top of all that, if it had a different color scheme or didn't have that cylindrical underbarrel attachment it wasn't it. Pearlescents back in the day were easier to farm than this thing, and that's with farming crawmerax.

My hot take? Everyone praises BL2s campaign as being the best in the series. I agree. But I also think people have very thick rose tainted glasses with regards to it. Lemme explain.
BL2 has a good campaign *the first few times you play through it.* Waking up after the train ambush and then spending the first while working towards Sanctuary is cool. The twists in the story are really good the first time through.
But when doing subsequent playthroughs you realize just how slow the game is initially. You spend the first 2-3 hours just fighting bandits and bullymongs. You realize just how many plot holes there are in the campaign's story (we just stand there T posing after Jack shoots Roland, Angel is such an important character who's with us the whole game yet we learn next to nothing about her, and despite us clearly having the capability to foil his plans...Jack never does anything to stop us). Most of the characters act like you don't really exist (a problem BL3 had even worse) and the fact the best they could come up with for repeat playthroughs was everyone gets tankier and does more damage, but you just do more damage feels so underwhelming.

Sure it's classic but it has a caveman functionality to it even with QOL improvements in the GOTY edition. I have the GOTY, the Handsome Collection and the second best BL3 and it's difficult to pick BL1 back up. I certainly know the differences but it's not like you hopping out of a tesla and into a 65 Mustang. It more like crawling through the hatchback of an 85 Ford Escort and working that shitty manual transmission to get anywhere. I love the franchise I do. @@CevsyOld No it doesn't . It proves it's a simpler more rudimentary game. That game is difficult. There is a overall lack of ammunition around other than the machines. The driving mechanics are unresponsive and wonky. Without the QOL , navigation is certainly possible but a righteous pain in the ass. And how about every enemy and their mother having the ability to reincarnate every time you turn your back after putting a bullet in their head. If you do not have the ability to get to level 10 in BL 2-3 smoothly then you're doing something wrong I hate farming and it is certainly far more optional in 2 then 1 by quantity of weapons alone. Quantity is a quality all its own. I've found far better weapons on average that have sustained me for more levels then the spitwad shooters you get on average in 1. Frustration is an deliberately built into a games design. It's an emotion that will force a player to find alternative means to succeed. In 1 because there are shittier decent average weapon drop rates that makes frustration rise aggressively quick making the decision to quit a pretty casual choice. It seems by your explanation a learning curve is not something you look for in video games. Fine so be it. BL2 isn't rocket surgery. BL3 is pretty complicated. 1 is primitive in comparison and that does not translate to casual. If you think so then I would venture you have a very different definition then casual because I've never suffered a head trauma from playing 2 or 3. My walls of my apartment after playing 1 left me without a security deposit. Casual is a word used to describe how many hours you game or a the quantity and intelligence of the game's enemy.

Hot take, borderlands 2 would be a lot better if op levels got mayhem scaling similar to bl3. End game borderlands with op levels feels like something that wasn’t fleshed out and it turns actions skills that damage into liabilities, makes certain skills legit a handicap to pick up, and many guns just feel dissatisfying to use. Plus the issue of health not scaling when you already died at lighting fast speeds compared to one.

BL2 was only good for Jack. BL3 was better in most ways. People just hang onto Jack and call the other games worse. TPS has the best writing, BL3 the best gameplay and BL2 the best villain. BL3 and BL2 have weak stories. Wonderlands was both a step forwards and backwards. It was a fun game but they needed better DLC and End Game. If they had that it'd likely have been better than BL2 in every way. Going by artstyle BL3 has the upper hand here too. BL1 was literally jus the same colour, BL2 was a step up but BL3 felt perfect. Certain planets with certain vibes was great to me.
A game with the story and writing of Wonderlands and TPS with the gameplay of BL3 and a unique villain would be the literal perfect game.
My hot take: BL3 is the best game in the series, best gameplay by far and most the story is skippable if you don't care. Incredible DLC, Mayhem was amazing and much better than UVHM & OP, Takedowns were fun and required you to work towards the boss and felt like a full scale raid.

And god forbid you didn't have the Grog Nozzle or you would just die 24/7 cause the characters have basically no healing in BL2. Not to mention the lack of build variety and weapon variety. Even then, you basically have to play vanilla around 5 times in BL2 in order to get to max level and fully enjoy the DLC, _without_ having to reset everything so you get your max level Sandhawk etc. Oh, you did it early at Lv65 in UVHM? Have fun doing the entire game again just to farm max level items... OH WAIT THERE'S OP8 NOW TOO, DO IT AGAINNNNNN, HAHAHAHA 😑

It's a time waster by desing created for MMOs games to make easy content and force people to stay in the game longer, that's why mounts in games like WOW or FFXIV had 0.1% chance of drop after a boss, and that makes devs be lazy desining the game, insteed of a hard battle and get your reward, it's like "yeah, kill Bunker 123412412312 times, and MAYBE get the not shit sham. Borderlands 3 doesnt hav the greatest gunplay, its hella overrated. Its extremely simplistic and easy. Sliding and mantling didnt add anything at all to the game. If i wanted to shoot while moving at sprint speed i would just sprint and jump. All that mantling did was hav the areas designed around using mantling to get to them, if there was no mantling then those areas would be designed in a way to get to them without mantling. They also removed grenade jumping and rocket jumping which was a way mor cool and interesting form of movement than sliding and mantling. Bl3 removed so much enemy variety and turned the enemys into generic targets to shoot at. U dont hav to think at all while fighting them. Bandits dont feel any differint from eachother. Maliwan feels mostly the same as bandits. All the creatures feel the same. Everything is so dumbed down. All the bosses are just boring and easy. Just big health bars to melt that drop legendarys. Almost every character plays like salvador. For example moze is literally just holding down the fire button while spamming grenades that heal you. Zane is just holding the fire button while spamming his mantis cannon skill. Etc. Annoints are jusy glorified slag and hella restrictive. In bl2 i could just grab a white slag weapon and be completely fine with that. Or i could use other weapons that slag in differint ways like a slagga, slag pimpernel, grog nozzle, random maliwan snider. I could slag with grenades, and even action skills. Annoints, on the other hand, hav extremely restrictive conditions that force me to play in a specific way, with the only exception being the consecutive hits which is why literally every build uses it. Because of how random annoint effects are, it just creates an annoying grind to get the one that fits with ur build and it literally is just a replacement for slag. I could critisize mor abt the mechanics of bl3 but this comment would be very long, yea thats my hot take bl3 is pretty boring and repetitive once u play it for mor than an hour or two

Once you mute the audio and just focus on the GAME part of the game, turns out they’re actually a lot of fun. It’s why BL3 is my favorite, despite having the worst story out of them all. The gameplay feel is just above the rest

So, the vibrancy in bl3 makes sense since you're going to different planets. Yeah, promethia is going to be colorful since it's a metro, whereas eden 6 is desolate.
Speaking of, eden 6 is the worst slog in 3. It has good bosses though.
Finally, Ava wasn't that bad. Yes, she's cringey, and loud, and annoying. But she's a teenager, it makes sense.

I'm going say no if gearbox was actually trying make ava believable then there has be something that would actually benefit our fight with twins massive aswell way and aswell have likeability charm : not annoying or foolish that we actually have still.

I dont hate slag. I hate the amount of enemies that are immune to slag, which are bosses. Dukino's Mom and Saturn are an absolute chore. They have armor hp, a shitton of it, with HP regen, and you cant slag them, and you cant crit Saturn. I have 650 stacks of anarchy with a corrosive fibber and bee, and i cant take them down at OP8. Thats absurd. When the lilith dlc dropped i literally could not get my gaige to OP10

Op levels are unbalanced, I can agree with that and not for everyone but a good build can be slagless in standard UVHM and you'd only have to use it for bosses which would make sense
Edit: I guess that's my own hot take. Slag isn't 100% needed for standard UVHM

corrosive in bl1 actually added a dmg boost on enemies that was alot less
the entire game wasnt only sirens
that was a plotpoint but it wasnt this insane until bl3
in bl1 it had basically no weight
bl 2 had sirens but they where more a plot device
bl ps i dont rly think had sirens
and then hits bl3 where everybody is a siren EXEPT the 1 you play
eridium doesnt come from sirens either

How can you say bl3 had next to none of Brick, Mordecai and tina, when bl2 had the same thing. You rarely ever see tina and I feel like adding another dlc based around tina wouldn't feel original. Brick you just see him say "Hey Slab!" and thats it. Mordecai is the only person who gets involved in bl2 after roland dies

I have actually never played BL2. Only played BL3 and I thought it was amazing (imo the story sucked). Maybe I should give it a shot. Destiny 2 isn't doing it for me anymore.

If BL2 was remastered with better graphics, reworked difficulty, fixed bugs, rebalanced vault hunters, and even more DLC, released with a subscription live update system similar to Diablo or World of Warcraft, and more engaging and larger raid bosses with increased lobby size, it would become a major player in the modern gaming landscape. The formula for success was almost mastered by Gearbox a decade before anyone else.

Putting Wonderlands below Borderlands 1 for not having endgame is just extreme bias. More than 70% (Steam achievements) don't even reach lvl 50, let alone play endgame.

Corrosion was a debuffer in BL1. If the enemy had a corrosive dot it took 15% more damage

This one isn’t a hot take but I wanted to say it anyways
Borderlands 3 is the worst game in the series by far. The only positive it has is minuscule quality of life changes. It jeopardizes the future of the franchise and unless they go back to the BL2/PS/BL1 model our beloved series will die. Newer isn’t always better!

I liked the concept of Anointments, but they shouldn't have eclipsed the main damage output of the guns altogether the way a lot of them did. The Enchantment system in Wonderlands actually did a lot to rein that in but still make them feel impactful; not necessary to build around entirely, but still helpful to have than not.

Welp for me, i dont like grinding like killing the same boss to get a weapon with a super little chance is can stop being a fun part and turn in to a waste of time ( i tried to use mods to see if can help but in the end just turn everything boring), i hate the how the combat turn in to a enemies turn in to a bullet sponge and the PC dies in one or two hits, i dont mind the tvh or OP levels and i think tvh should be a difffucult setting that you can choose from the start of the game, raid bosses fights (in bl2) just sucks is the 8 or 80 situation or you kill the boss fast or you het pulped by him and for the story and feels about the game i think they need to turn down the comedy and self aware (this is probably not a hot take but eh).
