One of the things I like about Dementus is he's still threatening her kind yet he's not a big joke like they could have played him up as. He's a small fish in a big pond of villains and even an underdog.
"Roman Epic crossed with a futuristic Hanna Barbera Cartoon."
So "Wacky Wasteland"?
I 'd watch the crap out of that cartoon.
Dementus might have to be my next cosplay project, if I can manage to lay off the burritos.
With or without nipples?
No worries, you can be Dementus with a nod to Fat Thor.
OH WHAT A DAY WHAT A LOVLEY DAY
WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY
WITNESS ME!
@@louisduarte8763 hahahaha will stores have to lock up the brake fluid once again?! lol
I Miss Midnight Screenings. 😢
especially after a Tyler Perry "drama"
Chris Hemsworth's character is what Magnefico from Wish tried to be (but failed at being the former).
Dementus makes a great multi-dimensional villian. He's comedic while being genuinely intimidating, and in the end, I actually felt sad for him. It takes an equal blend of great writing and top natch acting to pull that off.
I dug the hell out of this movie. It felt like a perfect companion piece to Fury Road. Hemsworth and Taylor-Joy were fantastic in their roles, especially Hemsworth. It’s easily my favorite role from him
thought it was alright, although watching it right after Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome seems apt in being the okay followup to a pretty good predecessor
Scrotus was in the game and dementus was mentioned in it. While i appreciate the use of the man who sold the world I would've gone woth pink floyds the nile song, rreally sounds like a war boys anthem
Brad still has my favorite quotation in any Fury Road review: "who wants to beat off to that first?"
I saw that first one a few years ago; was unaware there were more made before it. No real interest in seeing anything more. It's like a really weirdly thought out interpretation of a kind of dystopian thriller I guess?
Just had to decide what to do, join the tens of thousands of drunkards roaming the streets due to the festival, try to sleep to music and drunkards one block away or go watch a movie. Well this recommendation was right, best option to take for sure.
Brad if you say that you'll do an Review of ,,BasTurd" i will trust your opinion that i ain't need more Bud Light on the💥promotion but this ticket
Her dirt look makes her look exactly like my sister
With Dementus, half the time I was not sure if I was supposed to be afraid of him or laugh at him. He had a certain comedic touch to him. Not MCU humor but he would still come of as unintentionally hilarious sometimes.
I think its funny that in order to make Hemsworth look evil, they give him a hook nose.
The name of the second chapter (The Laws Of The Wasteland) for some reason reminded me of David & David. Also the final Bullet Farm scene reminded me of a weird marriage between like a Call Of Duty style shoot ‘em up and Blast Corps. I was saying that even though personally I liked The Garfield Movie more Furiosa is a far better written film. I just laughed when Garfield stared at the screen for like 50 minutes before saying “And Tom Cruise” and I was flabbergasted by the idea that this u film has a heavily implied sex scene between a Bull and a cow. Like they don’t show the animals having sex in The Garfield Movie but they do show them making out to Marvin Gaye before the cow jumps the bull’s bones off screen whilst Odie watches. (The dog isn’t getting cuckolded the dog is just protecting the audience from watching animated animals bone)
Okay, I'm sold.
I'm so glad Furiosa is good.
Road warrior and Mad Max are the only true Mad Max films. I didn't even like the thunder dome.
FURIOSA!!!
Honestly, thanks for saying that it's not as much of a CGI fest as the trailers make it out. I saw ATJ on Colbert the other night and the clip they showed looked like something from the Uncanny Valley.
I wanted to love this movie. I enjoyed it but felt so long. Best part are all the bad guys from Fury Road. Hemsworth is great too! I just didn't find the character of Furiosa that entertaining.
So, its GWAR the movie?
Are you excited for the next chapter of the Miss Clara Cinematic Universe The Forge?
Wow. An A....can't wait to see it
That nose and beard on Hemsworth really makes him look like Christian Bale.
I love how mad max is getting a revival and it's not full of slop.
oh George Miller has now expressed interest in bringing back Mel Gibson and finishing off the MM saga in style- oh please let it happen!!!
I didn't care for Fury Road and I'm not going to see this. I want a Mad Max movie about Max.
Just got back from it, Hemsworth just takes it to 11 and stays there and chews all the scenery, spits it out and then eats it again.
Hemsworth have the film a decidedly Fallout feel. All kinds of wacky weirdoes there
It won’t be as good not another church movie that’s cinema lol.
get woke go broke = furiosa the one armed 90lb mary sue driving a big rig and beating the apocalypse.
Lol, do intellectual midgets still use the trite phrase 'get woke, go broke'?
Glad there's not add much cgi as the trailers indicate.
Getting sent a screener to review only for the review to get claimed right away is the perfect example of what's wrong with that system lol
It also shows they were worried about what he might say
Glad to hear that Furiosa is worth the view. Always had a soft spot for George Miller's work. And yeah, everything I've heard about Atlas has been not great so that tracks. Thanks for the reviews Brad!
When I saw yhe first trailer, I was worried about how cgi heavy it seemed. Glad to hear that's not an issue.
Have you seen Mad Feet, the Fury Road/Happy Feet mashup? It's an amazing 'trailer' and I would honestly watch Immortan Penguin ham his way through the Antarctic landscape.
The ads I've seen for this movie show Chris Hemsworth having the time of his life as Dementus, so I'll definitely watch.
He's gloriously over the top in it, it's great.
I think this make up for the fun he didn't have on Thor Love and Thunder- lets hope he gets his mojo back to give us a worthy Thor 5
Have to blind up you Haven't seen this yet 👍
I truly believe the reason director George Miller hasn't done another Mad Max centric movie is probably because of Tom Hardy. According to that BTS book about the making of Fury Road, it sounds like Miller and Hardy also didnt get along at all, alongside Hardt and Therons on set fueds
Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸
Saw the movie today with my sister and her bf
Lots of things in here centering around love, what the side effects are of fighting for it, taking on the world in order to get home, how a wasteland can create a hero
Miller and the creators once again bring a large scale to this apocalyptic world with giant sets, modified vehicles, customized weapons, elaborate costumes, convincing makeup effects, and a dirt filled aesthetic
The film itself is definitely worth the wait
It's quite long (probably could've been trimmed down and sped up its pacing) along with some odd editing choices and I didn't know it would be broken up into chapters although it is told like an odyssey
It takes quite a while too for Anya Taylor-Joy to show up as a young Furiosa but she conveys a lot of expression through her eyes with visual storytelling
And director George Miller wonderfully expands this Australian wasteland
I also appreciated how they forge her character and leading right into the events of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ right down to using familiar music cues
Hemsworth makes for an entertaining warlord villain too
The vehicle chases and custom war machines continue to be inventive
The characters get crazier even when certain things stop making sense altogether then again this is a mad world for all involved
‘Fury Road’ was much more exciting but this is a nice side story to expand on the world Miller created 45 years ago
What an terrible Movie Year. Prequels, Sequels, Superhero Stuff
... cant wait to be dissapointed by Beetlejuice 2
Those two and a half hours flew by really quickly and yes, Chris Hemsworth was excellent as Dementus.
Chris hemsworth needs to play more villains also Brad it’s BULLETFARM, not bullet town you’re in thin ice
Hey Brad, I highly recommend seeing Twilight of the Warriors Walled In if it’s showing anywhere near you. If you dug Furiosa you will love it. It’s this year’s RRR meets Fury Road with one of the most stunning recreation of the Walled City of Kowloon which was an iconic multi story slum in colonial Hong Kong.
Speaking of movies, you seen did you see the newest Planet of the Apes movie and the animated Garfield movie?
I thought Hemsworth was Immortan Joe!
No Garfield review?
I refuse to get my hopes up, even with Miller at the Helm, but I'll give it a shot. Looks like they added Thor for comic relief, and then leaned left into a strong female lead. Also this trend of expanding and milking intellectual properties for all they're worth, has yet to end well for any fan of any franchise
Fury Road was literally a movie about women rescuing other women from sex slavery how is THIS the one that's "leaning left"

Because max only has a single cameo, so of COURSE Miller has gone “woke.” Even though he’s openly said that the films are more about the world around max than max himself.
After an economic collapse due brought on by wokeness... we are thrust into a world of Furiosa and lesbian wet dreams...
Cut out with that crap, chud.
Dude.
@@kellydavis3219 I'm not afraid to say the quiet part out loud... go woke, go broke
