- Hiii guys! Today I have a longer video for you - we are going hiking! I show you what I wear for hiking here on Svalbard, my tips and tricks for mild winter clothing and then we head up Platåfjellet (plateau mountain). Let me know in the comments what you think about a longer video :)

Yep!!! The further away from society and the further out you are it helps. I am in rural Oregon so I am out far but of course Cecelia is way out further and I wish I could try to be where she was for a while that would be incredible.

Cecelia you're more brave than I'd ever be, hiking in the dark in polar bear Territory and talking about a polar bear attack where you are standing! You go girl!
Well, it's a very different environment. Where I live it wouldn't be a bad idea to carry a rifle because of rising crime. Wherever you are there is always something to deal with. I must say the Arctic is amazingly beautiful.

I know this comment is a year old but I'm newer to Cecilia's chanel so I've been going thru watching from the beginning and I agree 100 percent with your comment.
Love the longer videos too! And really appreciate the effort in taking the hiking shots where you have to set the camera up and walk back down... you basically are hiking mountain twice!
You need some sponsors for that gear. Perhaps sometime you can show how you keep your car going through -40 temps when it is out in the wind. That's some feat!

Living in Winnipeg, Canada has taught me that having a deep hood to protect the face against windchill is very important. Any exposed skin is at risk.

Although I enjoy this channel, not what I would consider a smart move on her part, in fact, a pretty dangerous one, not only concerning a polar bear attack but if she sustained an injury, who would be able to assist her before a bear eventually shows up?

I’m from Indonesia (yes, right on the equator and no snow at all). But after a trip to Tromsø last January, I’ve been hooked on the polar life, the snow, the ice, the cold, everything! I do see your videos very often. Here in Hyderabad, India our winters are very pleasant. Today our temperatures are 26 degrees C now in the afternoon 3.38pm. Temperature at 7.00 am was 17 degrees. So no need of winter clothing.
I know on the other side it is very cold. I know with all the storm and getting clothed like a warrior for war, you still enjoy your life. Your dog is very cute. I have a 7 year Beagle, our darling.

Hi from a new subscriber! I love your content and sense of style, and of course the gorgeous places you film/photograph. I was looking for new channels over this holiday break and am so glad RUclips recommended you. I live in Quebec, Canada so I have a definite appreciation for long, cold and dark winters, although we do still have daylight! I like living in a cold climate, last summer we had a long heatwave and I was fantasizing about living in an even more northern location. I find northern countries so beautiful and comfortable and would never want to live anywhere else. Happy holidays/new year!

Another great video. I especially loved the music of the harp and strings that you used for the hike portion. The harp really goes well with the snow flakes falling down and going up it was mostly harp and guitar but at the summit then the strings came into the music which was spot on for reaching the top and looking down at the view. I laughed at Grim pulling you down the mountain! I have to say I would be terrified to go by myself on a hike in the dark up that mountain knowing there could be polar bears up there. I also was laughing when you were showing us what you wear before leaving the cabin and I could hear Grim whining in the background because he wanted to go already!
