Slow ya selves and down. It is decient and such to be mo betta than you push your LAW's on us before eat'n duck etufee; drink a hurricaine; wash a movie then be attacked by 1/2 of one billion zicada buggs as you squish them and can' t see the road on where you think you used to live. Then he police officer pulls you over for speeding and you ask. "how did you know I been speedin?" he say the bugs you run over kept squishing in my eye.
Man thank you for uploading this. It brings back so many memories of laying on my grandparents living room floor, everyone with a glass of sweet tea listening to Justin Wilson albums. I couldn’t have been more than 8. I’m 47 now and hearing this again puts me right back in that living room. Man those days were the best. 😊
One of the truly great storytelling albums of all time. There are comedians and there are storytellers. Justin Wilson was the latter, and one of the best.
Back in the 60's dad would get me out of bed to listen to the comedic stories of justin wilson, jerry clower and mom's mabley on the radio. After tv signed-off for the night you could tune in far off radio stations..Baton Roude, New Orleans, Nashville. Though we didn't always get along the thread of humor ran through us.
I was 16 years old living in So Cal when my Uncle gave me an 33 album of Justin and to this day I'm 75 years young and still love listening to this Cajun pure good humor
He had a cooking show on PBS TV in the eighties and he was so darn funny. I really enjoyed it. I still use that "GER RON TEE IT" to this day. I didn't know he had a career as a comedian til today.
We need the Justin Wilsons and the Jerry Clowers in this world today. I do my best to take real life situtations and spin yarns out of them. Too many Karens and Brandons though take it to the sleeve and get offended by them or tell me to stop telling lies. For some reason people have still have such shallow minds, that they still believe God Almighty hates humour and His Children having a good time and a good laugh to help us to temporarily forget the blight of this world. If God has given you the talent and gift to be a clown or a comedian. Don't let anybody cancel out what God has given you to give others.
I had the homor of meeting Justin at a book signing in Birmingham, Alabama. The fine man hand wrote me the recipe for his Sweer Potato Casserole, that my wife demands be made at every special meal function. Rest Easy my friend!
When I was about 2 years old, I ran across a Justin Wilson cookbook and laid my footprint upon it. No one knows what happened to that copy of the recipe book, and my dad always mentions how he wishes he had it back. I bet you have a copy of the book I am talking about. The one with a red cover called "homegrown Louisiana cookin". The one with all of the real good recipes to everything you want to cook.
Long ago I had the pleasure of needing to call Mr Wilson at his home about using his logo for printing public television aprons for fund raising. He and his wife were gracious and lovely. In 1985, friends and I toured Williamsburg VA and had the great pleasure of talking with Judge Lyle Babcock and his wife, Leona, of LahFahYet Looeezeeanna. They told us to come visit if we could get to that lovely place. I dearly wanted to. A few years later, I discovered Beausoleil's amazing Cajun-zydeco music, also from Lafayette. What a wonderful place and people. I'd rather visit there than New Orleans , I ga ron tee!
Justin was a "safety engineer" and this field took him around "Cajun country" giving safety lectures, and he picked up many of his hilarious stories in his travels
It reminds me of Lou Toth, a friend of the family that used to run liquor from West Virginia during the prohibition days. There, he heard many types of folk music and learned to play the pieces on his fiddle. He taught me to play Gypsy music on the piano. Now, I have a love for Gypsy music. He also taught me and my friends how to cook Gypsy soup out of toasted Buckwheat flour, paprika and boiled carrots, onions and celery. He was a vegetarian and a pool shark. He was street smart, too. From him I learned to walk softly and be humble to stay out of trouble. He blessed us by saying "you're going to be all right in life."
It's so AWESOME to find this...my late grandfather and I used to love watching Justin Wilson on the television back when he had his PBS cooking show and Grandpa always loved doing his best Justin Wilson impressions when he cooked (ohhhh, he was a damn good cook I gay-ron-tee!)...Justin Wilson was a funny man and an excellent cook, may his wit and wisdom be remembered for many more years to come...💖 As Mr. Wilson may have well said today if he were to be around, it has been a pleasure for you to read this I gay-ron-tee!
One of my Mom's vinyls when I was a kid growing up in TX. Justin mentions looking up to the late Will Rogers who married my Dad's cousin. Never forget the man indecent exposing himself. Sex Ed in the 60s. Still laughing. I guarantee.🤗
A bunch of years ago, I attended a Red Cross event that featured Justin Wilson as the keynote speaker. Honestly, the only reason I went was to see a close friend of mine receive an award. Mr. Wilson was fantastic and I actually enjoyed listening to him. I won't ever forget the way he ended. He said, "I spoke very plainly and used the word damn and other language that some people might find offensive. If I have offended anyone in the room tonight, I don't give a damn. Good night."
Did the record on A4 say Basketball game because he's definitely describing a baseball game... Thanks for posting this. Love Justin's humour and very sad to know we won't hear any more.
OMG He is the best......"actually I don't give a damn. He say to the little bitty boy, "Well you don't know a damn thing, do you! Maybe not, but I aint lost."
This was in in the early 60s for him to curse like that blows my mind I like a lot of older southern comedians like Jerry clower and you could truly play Jerry's work in church on how respectful it is but not this lmao
this LP first came out on Ember records in 1960, the label best known for doo wop groups The Five Satins and the Silhouettes. I wonder how Capitol got it....Tower had all kinds of interesting albums-- including the first one by Pink Floyd.
Never heard of this chap before, but wow he's really great, gently riveting listening! - He kinda reminds me of Ken Nordine (Word Jazz - 1957) ruclips.net/video/1_hdeT4BaRo/видео.html - Two other fantastic oddball American storytellers, with smoky-voiced styles all their own too. 👌😸
I would say if my brother Umpired; a whachacall baseball game. If he called a ball and made the batter walk and a person off field illustrated potentials. Lets say for instance a person said my brother was wrong. I would 5 minute breathe. Now after I'm done breathing I might participate in the fight. However, I have several options. There is no way I'm telling my brother what option I took. Alll the rest of the other options are up to him.
I believe he fakes the accent. I grew up in jenerette Louisiana and that is not a Cajun accent. Somebody said he traveled around in this commentary teaching safety classes in Louisiana so I'm willing to bet he was not born and raised in south Louisiana because that is not the proper accent
Hard to fake the accent--are you a Cajun--I had friends in Louisiana That loved this man--and not everyone in LA have the same accent- the man is bringing laughter etc to everyone that watches the video--so why are you so negative?? kick back and enjoy life and some humor--nobody cares about the accent we just enjoy the humor--
Are you jealous for some reason--Well why don't you make a video and show us your Cajun Accent--Like I said before the 2nd album I ever owned I was like 16 years old and it was a Justin Wilson album and I am now 75 years old and still have that album
@@BrokenCompass85 that is a good assessment and I did not know where he was born but I did know he was putting on the accent. Too many years in Jeanarette on my Paw Paw's sugarcane farm. Then all of my uncles and cousins. I still have that accent and a New Orleans yat accident and I'm able to change up, that's pretty funny but Justin is a faker but he is funny sometimes. Thanks for the info and the reply. God bless you and your family Cher...Le bon ton roulle !
It Should Be Requested Be LAW, Everybody Learn Dis, Before Coming To Louisiana.

I watched Justin Wilson on PBS for years. A real treat. I love good storytelling. And he was brilliant! I guarantee!

This man is much funnier than most of the comedians today.
that’s a big fact!

Too many today are too funny but not in the good way.
I collect Justin Wilson Comedy albums when I come across them. This is one I've never sen. thank's for posting
I have this one on vinyl. Do you live in texas or Oklahoma by chance?
Justin should be remembered for ever!
I used to ride with dad hauling produce to Hotlanta, GA market listening to Justin’s. 8-track! 😎

I was born in this year. Too damn bad, I never got to meet this great man!

I remember him on the radio, in the evenings, when it was time to sleep, when I was in grade school.
