the thing about speaking Spanish in a Mexican or Hispanic house is that if you can when talking or asking for things to do it using double meaning. the one about the flour, she asked the person with the water she said (echame agua) which translate to pour me the water. since they are family they are using improper language it can be take into context of throw me the water and even though she knew what the person with the flour meant she was pulling the other person chain. cause that is how we do between family the person with the flour probably did something similar like that and take things TOO literal.

They needed a video about the eternal despedidas de la visita. Start saying you should really go because it's late now, stand up and talk for several minutes more, stand by door talking again, stand outside house talking, walk them to their car talking, stand by the car talking, they finally get in the car so they open the windows and you lean on the car talking. An hour later the guests actually leave 😂
Also no matter how small the house or apartment, there will be yelling to tell each stuff because apparently we can't just walk into the other room 😅
My favorite is when a toddler or little kid falls and the parent says, "ven para levantarte" and the kid actually gets up and walks to the parent while crying the whole time. (To clarify it's a harmless fall, not something serious with injuries.)

so just to clarify hispanic refers to spanish speaking people and culture related to spain including all of central america and cuba , dominican republic and most of south america and although equatorial guinea in africa also speaks spanish they generally dont get included in the hispanic world because in the americas the people are much more genetically and culturally connected to spain unlike equatorial guinea which mostly only has language ties and no Brazil speaks portuguese they are lusophones which is the word for portoguese speaking people
meanwhile latino/a refers to people in the american continent who speak a latin derived language ( spanish , portuguese , french and creoles of those or pidgins or mixed langauges like the one in brazil in the south ) and it includes all of central america and almost all of south america excluding suriname and guyana and includes almost all of the caribbean but although it should include quebec and haiti and french guyana by definition they almost never are because although its defined as latin languages etc it really only includes spanish and portugues and their creoles etc it would be more accurate to call them ibero americans

While I'm always down to bring out the pitch forks, I bet in this case it was a mistranslation by the subtitles, since in the asian languages from my experience address the america continent as north and south only (that is, not knowing the nuances of central and caribeans) and in their minds north is the english speaking side and south is the latino side (which is wrong), I'm positive the mexican girl knew the difference but since she was explaining it in korean languge, they don't have words to explain the situation better. tldr: asians suck at global geography and are not interested to learn about the nuances from lands far away.

Why make up a derogatory name for them?
