First Carnivorous Plant feed of 2024

Long-time followers will know this is a little unusual for me, as usually the first feed involves a much smaller flytrap. Thing is, this particular trap has been open all winter, and I didn't really expect it to close when I fed the cricket to it but I was pleasantly surprised when it did.

Nice to see they are getting through winter dormancy with a good start. Where do you go to find the various foods for your plants, since younger Venus flytraps can vary greatly in trap size?

Hand feeding the trap takes all the sport out of it; sorta like shooting fish in barrel.
