Me and my sister used to watch this show everyday. I can't even remember how many times we were sent away from the dinner table for saying 'antipasto' and giggling. What a great time we grew up in!
I just watched the Dick Cavett interview of Orson talking about living in an Australian commune. I saw your name in the comments. I just realized that the interview was done in 72, before MG started again.
Although I understand it’s a part of the schtick with her (she’s often good-naturedly bullied for being kind of dumb and kind of weird after all), it does strike me as particularly hypocritical for Gene to act So put out in this instance.
I'm probably in the minority but I really like gene's Dr Frankenstein imitation. I'm with "CHUCK" I love blueberry muffins. I'd bet that if this show had been taped in the Northeast block island woulda made the audience match
Was that the first time a person ran up from the audience to join the contestant on stage? I think Bob won the equivalent of his annual salary in one day. Bob Wohl also went on to spend his entire career at that park in San Diego (Torrey Pines State Reserve) and still works as a volunteer. Lots of great stuff about him available to read on the internet.
I adore Patty but she consistently does one thing that gets on my nerves. She'll write her own "gag" answer at the expense of the contestants which she knows full well will never match them. Her position on the show is to make every attempt to match the contestants, not to display her comedy writing skills.
Yeah, but that's what makes her so memorable. Plus, Patty's kookier answers were usually reserved for the 1st round rather than the more important 2nd question. And anywho, she actually is funny which helps many excuses her randomness in her answers.
@@EVzipper48 I think it also has something to do with being in Seat 6. Basically all the comedy has been milked out of "normal" answers and you have to do something different. It does not make much of a difference if she's consistently and indiscriminately unhelpful to all contestants.
I was particularly bothered when she knew every match was needed for them to tie or win and she gave some ridiculous answer that would match nothing. Arg.....
On the most current match games which go up to 1979, Mary Ann Mobley is still a Dingaling! She can’t hit the broadside of a barn with a good answer. She’s just out of it! And BRETT tries to upstage everybody and she still continually has been on match game also. But MARY and is not a regular, but they have her on there quite a bit throughout all the shows.
The word 'wife' just meant 'woman' in Old English, and a housewife was any woman who was in charge of a household, even when it was a paid position. She didn't have to be married at all. It was hundreds of years later that the meaning of 'wife' began to switch over to 'married female person'.
Contestant Donna is my grandma. I miss her a lot, I come back and watch often so I can hear her voice again 💗
That's sweet. Thanks for sharing your story.
That is sweet
Aww, sorry for your loss! She seems very sweet!

So cute how the winner's wife without a second thought, ran up to be with him. They were a cute couple.
I think it's sweet that his wife came up to the stage to be with him .
This was a golden, funny show when no one was offended. Everyone had a great time!
irishmermaid 4 You are soo right! Like them light-hearted and joyful. 😃
RIP Orson Bean.
Mary Ann has gorgeous penmanship.

Mary Ann didnt take any longer explaining her answer than anyone else.

Now that's cool. The Park Ranger from Torrey Pines (San Diego) won the big money. Thank you Richard Dawson.
I can't believe Gene and all 6 panelists are gone. May they all RIP!
I love Brett's laugh at 3:26!
Brett has the most annoying cackle ever.
Yea, she's AWESOME!
It's been 50 years now. May they all rest in peace.
@@kristabrewer6736She's the weak sister of the group.
I love her laugh!!!
Love the show amazing how as soon as the man won $10,000 the woman came right up on stage to collect it
She was ready to go spend it. Slow down, lady, it's not really $10K; Uncle Sam is gonna get about 2/3rds of that.
No she came onstage out of pure happiness. Guessing they needed it pretty badly.
Yea we can't seem to do that anymore sad sad lol.
So Match Game PM, along with the daily syndicated version, used solid backgrounds for the prize credits? Syndicated Family Feud had the same thing.
Did anyone notice how bored contestant one was with Mary Ann Mobley's dumb stories? Look at his face as he leaned on the desk lol 14:06
When Max returned from his jungle vacation, his neighbors were amazed because Max showed them home movies of a lion eating Max's shorts
Patti matched! ;0)
Hey, no one said "from a corpse" for the Frankensteine's monster walking funny bit. first thing that came to my mind.
We do not treat each other like this anymore. And we should. Pro Human!
And the winner of the "Most Annoying Celebrity Sweepstake Award" go to Marry Ann ',:P
Match Game PM presents "Great moments in sleep inducing".
I like her, but she's VERY annoying
Antipasto! I love Gene and RICHARD’s imatations Of Dr. Frankenstein!

Mary Ann Mobley is doing her best to keep from ever being invited back.
😂😂😂
Nah … she’s just pulling a nnylasoR. 🤣 (I found her very relatable, as I tend to over explain as well.)
This is the first time I've ever seen Patty match anything.

Patty was a breath of fresh answers, very seldom did any answer NOT get many laughs. Patty will best my favorite.
I was particularly bothered when she knew every match was needed for them to tie or win and she gave some ridiculous answer that would match nothing. Arg.....
Thanks
I just watched a video of Orson Bean talking to Dick Cavett about living in a small commune in Australia.
Patty's back 😞(as if that's not bad enough, they have her back twice in a ROW)
Love it when Ms Mobley tells a story.
She's gorgeous with her European Latina look
Lord High Xcutioner she puts you in a mindset of Rose Nylund from the Golden Girls.
Hot as hell, but annoying.
Loved the tongue teaser she gave Richard @ 11:07 when he got naughty and roasted her long winded explanation,
Squeezes his feet, trying to get wine for dinner
Condolences to all the families of the members of the panel who are no longer with us especially Mary Ann Mobley & Patti Deutsch. RIP
Richard Dawson Bret Somers Charles Nelson Riley Gene Rayburn are also passed on
@@ronmoser1967 sadly now, so has Orson Bean (Feb. 2020) ✌
On this show only Marie Ann Mobley is in 1st place and Brett is in 2nd place as being stupid when answering questions on this show. .
Why is Patti so mean about matching contestants?

The new matchgame with alec baldwin is terrible he has a foul mouth no thing funny with the panelist either
I agree
Has anyone seen the episode that Betty is talking about at the end of the video at 2:50?

The laugh from Donna would force me to a super fast divorce. Any laugh can be pleasant, but her laugh, Donna, I would exit. 1-10-2022
She was very nervous, that was her nervous laugh and smile 😊

House-wife? Did she marry A house?
