    Even looking at NASA's satellite pics in 2010, more CO2 means more greenery on the planet's surface.

    Last year all I heard on the news was it is 1 degree warmer than average for this time of year. The news said absolutely NOTHING when my area was12-14 degrees C below average for the time of year.

      Here in the UK we have had a cool and wet year, so our media concentrated on any warm events anywhere else in the world.

      @@senseofthecommonman I see it as well, mate. I am in Wales. This year we have had almost no summer, but still all we hear is hot weather and climate change on the news.

    I'm not a climate change skeptic, I'm a climate stability skeptic. There's never been an series of seconds on the planet where there's been some demonstrable climate "stability" to maintain.

    Catastrophic climate change isn't what we should be worrying about. The very real possibility of a nuclear war or a long term widespread grid down scenario is far more worrisome to me and far more likely to actually occur.

    Can't the climate alarmists tell that we aren't in any danger due to the fact that CO2 is only 0.04% and that life starts to die off if we go much lower? Isn't too low more of a concern?

      @@wheel-man5319. It isn’t ‘flat’. Look again. The average global temperature on Earth has increased by at least 1.1° Celsius (1.9° Fahrenheit) since 1880. The majority of the warming has occurred since 1975, at a rate of roughly 0.15 to 0.20°C per decade. That is not ‘flat’. No matter how much you cherry-pick and manipulate the presentation of graphs and charts.

      @@tubecated_development Now prove that isn't out of climatology range for the planet. It goes up true but it is negligible. They are gathering too much data in and near heat islands, plus manipulating it.

      Way too cold to be optimum.
      Scientists have dug up 5000 years old walnut tree stubs from Finnish Lapland. Now we don't have them at all.

      Solar panels contribute to the urban heat island problem and all it entails - wind power has horrible impacts on local bird populations and creates a grotesque amount of fibreglass waste.

      Heat island effect for solar 'farms' for certain. Wind turbines are deadly to birds and bats. In the ocean they kill whales....

      It depends on the location and situation, but overall solar panels have a mild cooling effect on the planet. While the cooling effect isn’t strong, it is better than any other form of generation.

      @@Bobo-ox7fj Although the solar panels might directly cause a little cooling, the electricity they generate causes warming. And almost certainly that warming is greater than the immediate cooling (because more of the energy is turned into heat and less escapes to space as visible light than would have done by reflection in the absence of solar panels).
      But again note that these effects are tiny: solar panels might cause some tiny amount of local warming but it is utterly negligible compared to the carbon-induced global warming that does not happen because of them.
