    I ordered an SE (white, with pan roof, privacy glass) in July 2021, it was cancelled in September as they dropped the all round cameras, then it was cancelled again in May, 4 weeks before delivery as they dropped the digital dash, analogue only now. Last month I was told it will be built between Nov 22 and Jun 23. 2 weeks ago that was cancelled! I've just ordered a Macan.

    Recently I spent time driving two different F Paces. The standard model was comfortable and with the 3 litre diesel engine, reasonably economical. The other started life as a factory press car and thus had every extra, including bigger wheels with lower profile tyres and a "sports" interior. I hated it. The ride had been totally spoiled as every small bump and hole was felt - as an Experimental Engineer back in Bob Knight's time the term was "we could feel every cigarette paper" Then the seats - so uncomfortable I needed to get out and walk around after just two hours. After one trip my wife said please can we take my old BMW. I hope that with this revamp Jaguar have managed to get their majic carpet ride back!

    The boot floor sloping towards the tailgate is just daft.
    Shoes a lack of thought and understanding for the designers and packaging team.
    For it to work,they need to engineer an needlessly complicated pop up end piece that rises from the boot floor as the boot is closed or opened.
    Or just suck up the smaller boot size and raise it all up to the highest point at the back.

    • @adambunn8103
      @adambunn8103 2 года назад

      Makes more sense to just make a boot floor that fits over the battery and stuff rather than try and make 2 different boot shapes between models. It has a lower boot floor if it isn't a PHEV or if it hasnt got a fullsize spare..

    I rented a 2021 F-Pace in November. Put over 1000 miles on it driving all over Florida. I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. Fortunately or unfortunately depending on which way you look at it the screens, climate controls and shifter are direct out of a Range Rover. Same company at this point and cost sharing which is not a bad thing. Ranger Rovers are known to be generally unreliable but they are damn nice over all. That was my take. I don't know if I would buy this because I would be concerned with reliability. Get your hands on an Audi SQ5 at the right price and I would recommend that in a heart beat. Love my Audi's and they are bulletproof if you maintain them!

      Having worked in an Audi dealership, I'd be worried about Audi reliabilty. I could tell you loads of horror stories, starting with the 2.0l petrol engine excessive oil consumption from new. Don't want to criticise them really, they are great to drive and look awesome, I would just want an extremely secure warranty or some convincing data on the model I was buying..Either that or be in a strong financial position where you can cop a big hit without it ruining your year.

    • @lucyfan1976
      @lucyfan1976 Год назад

      @@eldorado111 Oh I hear you. They definitely need to be religiously maintained. Certain years and engines are more problematic for sure. I feel the 2.0T NOW is so much better and kind of like it. I had IMO one of the best engines Audi has produced. Apparently articles and write ups also say the 3.0T ( supercharged) was one of the most reliable Audi engines besides their TDI's ( 1.9, 3.0) etc. I loved that supercharged engine. I could not say enough good things about it. Had 2013 A6 with that engine. Although the new 3.0T ( now twin turbo) I think drives just as great. As long as reliability holds up it should be fine. Maybe replace a turbo down the road? I could handle that if everything else remains

    • @eldorado111
      @eldorado111 Год назад

      @@lucyfan1976 yeah there is no doubting Audi's engineering prowess. I guess it's a matter of VW's behemoth 'sausage factory' approach that inherently allows some of these (substantial) engineering issues to slip through the cracks.

    Twiddly doos for the climate controls, yay, at last a new car where the car people have listened to the driver people. A lot of car reviewers go on about cars not having a flush load lip once the tail gate is opened and that's fine for loading and unloading items when parked on a level. Park on a hill pointing upward and then it's a real comedy act for bystanders as you try and catch the escaping contents that if not quick enough roll into the traffic where all sorts of nasty things may result. Drop a ball of wool and all the cats within a 50 meter radius will be vying for its affection. Anyway your comment on the boot floor shape is well noted from someone who may or may not have owned a car with a flat loading space and may or may not parked it in a hill....... A great review Nicola. Oh and I feel an odd urge to own a Jag F-Pace, but not for a while.

      @@GarryMcGovern so you will turn down reliability and a brand with consistent history with hybrid tech for a car that will likely breakdown soon after warranty runs out? I guess that’s why there’s so many range rovers around. Money pit!

    Hmmm @autoexpress should not talk about "whizz it about on b roads" - They are full of wildlife, and cyclists. Now now car presenters do, please, find a new expression to talk about having fun at the wheel. I've driven more than a million miles and can honestly say driving is not fun anymore, it is dangerous and scary and we need to stop seeing cars as 'sporty', 'fun' etc, they are dangerous at all speeds and we need focus on this. With EVs having bonkers acceleration we each need to learn to adapt. Us as drivers and you as presenters.
