Lindsay reveals her connection to Frank Sinatra, Hugh Hefner, Sonny and Cher and working with Lee Majors and James Garner. And she reveals the stunt that almost went wrong, the TV executive who killed off The Bionic Woman and the hilarious length one fan went to get an autograph. This was a fabulous interview! Classy! Lindsay is an absolutely delightful woman! She is part of so many girls’ ( and boys’) childhood. Women around the world share a connection because of the character she (and no one else could have been the bionic woman) played! Quite a legacy! I feel sorry for the insecure, selfish, greedy little executive who took this treasure away from so many viewers. Another high paid, self-absorbed executive who did not know how to be in a power seat. It had to be all about him! Thankfully, Lindsay’s impact on so many lives is still celebrated in 2024! Happy 75 Birthday!

    Lindsay made a huge impact on me as a kid. It was so great to see a smart, vulnerable, strong woman kicking ass like Lee Majors! When she died, I was devastated! But then they resurrected Jaime Summers & gave her her very own show. I was thrilled! I had 4 brothers & we used to run around outside pretending we were bionic! I loved hearing her stories! She's a beauty inside & out! ❤

    When Bionic Woman moved to NBC and Max was being introduced in the season premiere, I went on a Universal Studios tour as a kid, and we went by the BW stage. I saw Lindsay walking around on the set and one of the "Max's" with bandaged paws lying on the set as well. Gorgeous German Shepherd by the way...They were setting up for a scene, but I guess that scene was never used because that episode never showed Max with bandages around his paws. I was able to get Lindsay's autograph on a BW jigsaw puzzle box I bought and had a quick "I'm such a huge fan" type conversation with her. She is such a nice lady who loved her fans and I am so glad to have seen this interview

      Well it’s a good thing Lindsay was not a regular on James Garner’s show otherwise her iconic portrayal of Jaime Sommers would not exist!
      In fact the Star was instrumental in her being cast as he enjoyed working with her, so he must have suggested her to Universal Television executives or THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN producer Harve Bennett, where she made her debut appearance as Jaime in a two parter.

  • @Scorchy666
    @Scorchy666 11 дней назад +14

    She needs to write a book. There's so much more! Linsday was literally among the last of the old studio system "contract players" over at Universal. Sadly, Universal was the last studio even offering them. Its why you saw her on everything Universal produced, from Marcus Welby to Night Gallery. When she initially did Six Million, her contract as a studio player was about to lapse, and Universal was in the process of letting all player contracts expire without renewing them. When Jaime "died" it was huge. ABC knew it. They wanted a spinoff series, but Lindsay's contract had already lapsed. Universal was trying to sell Stefanie Powers, but ABC insisted upon Lindsay. Well, let's say she had a tough manager who had serious leverage in contract negotiations. She was offered an insane amount of money (even by today's standards) and accepted, which really upset Lee Majors who was making far less at the time. So that's where their animosity started. That said, his salary was boosted to match Lindsay's. Also, they both got a sweet percentage of all the bionic merchandising featuring them, particularly dolls and posters. Tons of fascinating stories like these!

    I've always admired this lady , her body of work , and virtually everything that I've always known about her..now with that said, I also have to say ,that this is the first interview I've ever seen of her and therefore, learning things about her , that I never knew or would have suspected. It truly was a great interview, and she said it best by giving him the ultimate compliment. Saying it was great to work with someone, who has " done their homework "... I enjoyed that , for him. You could tell, he really appreciated it also. That was really sweet and so kind of her, to ( say ) do so. Her also telling that herself and Lee Majors wasn't friends at the beginning, and wasn't for a long time, was something I knew years ago..I remember watching an episode once with all my siblings, and one of them made the comment, about how good they looked together, on the show. At the time, word had already gotten out about the upcoming nuptials, ( from the show, ofc ) and one of my sisters, was trying to " paint the two " together, in real life. Everything was fine until I mentioned the fact , that I had already read ( in the TV Guide , no less.. and those of you that don't know or have never heard of TV Guide , look it up some time lol ) that in real life, they weren't even real friends. Let alone " in love ❤️ " . Well that did it... you would have thought, I was the missing puzzle piece, in the JFK conspiracy...they wouldn't talk to me, for a week..the 70's were a great time for television...there were alot of great shows, back then... with those two shows a the time, being the front runners.. 😊😊

    Lindsay Wagner and Lynda Carter are class acts. When I was a kid, The Bionic Woman and Wonder Woman were two of my favorite shows on ABC. Once The Bionic Woman and Wonder Woman left ABC for NBC and CBS, the two shows (especially Wonder Woman) weren't the same and I lost interest.

    In the DVD commentary, Lindsay mentions that when she first received the script for the guest appearance on the Six Million Dollar Man, she wasn't going to do it, but it was her sister's birthday and SMDM was her sister's favorite show, so she decided to go ahead with it.
    I wish they had talked about Maximilian, the bionic dog who debuted in Season 3 (with thoughts of a spin-off). Again in the DVD commentary, Lindsay talks about how the dog that played Max was just someone's dog, and the dog was a great actor, almost humanly so. After the two-part episode that introduced Max, the union stepped in and said they couldn't use him again, and from then on they had to use other professional union dogs to play Max.
