Great way to explain torque to a golfer, but what he doesn't get into (which is a big can of worms) is why different manufacturers measure torque differently. You can't compare torque specs across different vendors which is a big challenge for golfers looking for a shaft that feels a certain way. All you can do is try to find a couple of different torque shafts (in the same flex) from a vendor and mentally triangulate how THAT vendor calculates torque for THEIR shaft specifications. Very time consuming and very difficult to do if you don't have access to really good demo days near you where you can try a bunch of stuff.
I think shaft manufacturers intentionally obfuscate shaft specs to make it more difficult to find similar/cheaper shafts to try out if you are looking for something in a different/lower price range.

Still seems like the names of high/low torque are reversed to me.

There needs to be a standard that is agreed to and adhered to by ALL shaft manufacturers with respect to EXACTLY HOW ALL OF THE SHAFT SPECIFICATIONS ARE MEASURED. Get rid of the VooDOo and give the people clear apples to apples specs to compare.
Ohh never mind, if they did that then the marketing spin doctors cannot shovel all of their BS at us.

He mostly got it right but at time 1:40 he sort of mixed torque with tip flex when introduced higher launch. Torque has virtually no effect on launch angle; that is affected by tip stiffness.
He goes on to say that torque is not stiffness, which is correct, but he sort of smushed them together earlier.
The factor that he omitted is the effect of torque on face angle prior to impact. A higher torque shaft will twist more during the swing due to the fact that the shaft is less able to resist the off-axis mass of the clubface.
For a Honu putter, the mass is on-axis, so there is no such pre-impact twisting, but for other clubs, the shaft is required by the rules to be off-axis, so some amount of twisting is inevitable.
The other point is that the word "torque" is a spectacularly bad choice. From the physics standpoint, the "torque" is the force caused by the off-axis mass, whereas the shaft industry "torque" spec is not the force, but rather the shaft's resistance to that force. It is like the difference between punching and being able to take a punch.

    by ' most golfers ' - he means ' non golfers '
Trust me, if you have a pure swing - Less torque is crucial for going that next step in ' optimal performance '
