Thank you for this reminder. I'm realising that I am under some circumstances getting my priorities wrong. Sometimes I do turn into a road without a clear view to quickly because I am thinking that I don't want to annoy the driver following me by slowing down too much. This is absolutely the wrong order of priorities but thanks to your film I will remember and change my actions in future. Thank you. Regards John from sunny Devon UK
After 30k in 2years i have avoided 3 possible accidents 2 drivers actuallly stopped and Apologised, I was not flushtered in the slightest because i had already run through my mind what was possibly going to happen and had adjusted my speed. Thanks to your content , please keep the video's coming :)
What always worries me most about concealed junctions and bends, generally isn’t that I may have to stop. Nine times out of ten I’m prepared, unless I’m having a bad day and a momentary lapse of concentration. But , what may be tearing around it behind me, that wasn’t there before and hasn’t given it any thought. Always ready for that scenario. Always got to have an escape plan.
First well done to Pete for stopping. I would have backed off a lot more before the turn in with the tractor pulling out it looked close ( tho it could be the camera) There was no view into the turning. B Well done for stopping tho. Only ride as fast as you can stop on your side of the road.
Pete Here, With the camera position so low it does make things seem faster and quite often as a rider with the higher point of view you can see a lot more than the camera (did try with the camera mounted higher up but vibration from the twin engine made the footage useless). The tractor turning was closer than ideal with the trailer cutting the corner but not as close as the camera angle makes it seem. The whole video was well though out and explained by @MotorcyclePWR , hopefully it helps others to be aware of the risk and how quickly a pleasant ride can turn into an interesting situation. Looking forward to the next video
At just past 7.00 we are approaching a left hand junction and turning into it. We see a white van wanting to pull out, the driver turning to his right and across the road we are on. As we now turn, that van has already pulled out onto our previous road as there was no other traffic behind us. A safe turn. However if we speculate that its not a van but the cab of a lorry. a large HGV it may be some 60 ft long but we don't know that at that time and as we are approaching it and indicating a left turn the driver on seeing nothing behind us may indeed commence to pull out. As we are now at the junction and about to enter that side road. This creates a problem. We all know that any HGV on any road will take up a lot of tarmac but more so a 60 ft HGV when turning will take up much of the road and indeed more of our side of the road on a bend corner or junction. As it is turning right that creates a problem if we are too far out wide . As it turns the offside of the HGV cutting unto our side of the road. So taking a wide turn is ok but it all depends on the circumstances and the safest things as said was and is to slow right down and take it easy until we know all is clear and tghere bis no danger to proceeding. There are circumstances on country roads where we are approaching a sharp and BLIND left hand bend of say 90 deg. when we don't want to be over to the right and offside of our carriageway and put ourselves possibly in the way of some other traffic ie. a HGV turning our way. Its sometimes best to slow right down and take an inside lane position otherwise we may come face to face with something oncoming in the other direction.
You really do seam to enjoy riding tight little roads with no view😀 You do it at a reasonable speed, it's all good. The farm vehicles and the car, good example. I was watching another RUclips rider leading a group on narrow single track. It was nerve racking.
The first tractor flashed his lights, I took that to indicate trouble ahead and the need to slow down and be prepared for something odd.
Life saving advice plain and simple🔥👍👍

Great vid. A solid reminder for when im winding around the south downs. Sub'd ✌️
Great vid...ty for sharing clips to help others to learn from others experiences 👍🏍
Again, excellent reminder to all of us, great stuff 🙂
Excellent, excellent explanation. Thanks very much.
Great video.
Think every rider should own a copy of road craft
Would they all read it?

Spot on 👏🏻
Sorry, Sir, you can't park that car on that tree 🤦♂️🤣
I can see a good reason for trail breaking into some of those blind bends. Controversial on this channel I know 🙄
😎👍
Taking the corner too fast and too wide, badly positioned and not considering any potential hazards. Yep: that'll be a Discovery driver!
