Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。You are receiving tons of information about this song. I will give you two more. (1) Saki, an excellent shredding guitarist of Nemophila and a big BM fan, told in an interview "The One is so difficult that it is not a kind of song humans should play. It is, however, very cool and decently cute" [source: Japanese magazine Headbang vol.24 page 120] (2) Some people said this song was a little bit too repetitive. But in their live performance you feel as if the length of this song were only 30 seconds and want to listen to it forever. I witnessed it total 10 times at venues. Whenever they performed this song, I saw divine beauty and heard angelic voices. Su's current matured and richer voice gives you different feeling, I guess. To me, 2015-16 version sounds like a call to their fans and 2021 version sounds like embracing them all.
I cannot watch this without bawling my eyes out! Finding this band, just 15 months ago, changed my life! Rock/Metal had become boring. Babymetal was such a breath of fresh air. We are the One! 🤘🦊😢
9:52 is my crying moment when Su-metal breaks character and becomes Su-chan if only for the briefest of moments as she is in awe of the dimmed house lights and only the audience's neckbrace lights are lit. It's her first time seeing that, even though we've already seen it before the song began. The look on her face melts my heart that misses Su-chan from SG so much.
At 9:54 Su sees all the lights for the first time and breaks character, just for a second as her jaw drops. One of my favorite moments from any of their shows. Just fills my heart up every time.
Craig, 9:52 is a precious moment when Su-metal reacts to only seeing only the individual lights in a darkened arena. All of the house lights were shut off and only the neck brace lights the audience members wearing were all lit. It is a powerful moment for her. And let's not forget Moametal at 12:26 where she holds back her tears. And 12:30 where they zoomed in on Yuimetal to show her blink away her tears. Where to go from here? Metal Galaxy!
The next day after Babymetal's first day performing at Tokyo Dome. The Japanese TV talked about it and had some clips from their performance It included the moment of Su-metal. I was pointing it out to other fans and they didn't seem to care much about it. It seemed like they didn't realize what was going on. Later we heard the girls were below the stage when the first time the neckbrace lights went on. So this was the first moment the girls could see the full spectacle. Kobametal had mentioned in an interview he didn't know how it would go because they had never tested it properly (obviously they didn't have that many people, etc.).
Congrats for your physical Metal Resistance album, just remember, or check it out on the tracklist (I saw you show, nice), the international version got the exclusive "From Dusk Till Dawn" song while the Japanese version got "Syncopation" which is a banger song, both of them are, but my favorite is FDTD, but don't forget Syncopation for later reactions. This one is the full English version, the official MV got Jap/Eng version but no live sound, still is an awesome MV that show another wonderful moment on their career flying on a triangle gondola over the crowd, just epic. This moment is epic too, someone close to SuMetal said before this live concert that if she could make a devil's pact she would wish the skills to ride a Tokyo Dome rather than riding a bicycle 👀 Anyway this was made to appreciate all the fandom efforts to learn their songs and getting to know more and more the Japanese language just because the love for BM, this is their response, We Are The One. Forever 🦊🤘❤️ There's another soft version at their channel released last year called "The One - Stairway To Living Legend", don't miss out that version before sealing and finish the Metal Resistance chapter. Thanks once again for sharing this and see you next time. Don't forget to put your kitsune up 🦊🤘
I get the reference and love the spirit. Frankly, I feel Su-Metal probably welcomed the devil at the bottom of the Fox Hole with a sheepish grin. His unwise bet.! Nice one.
Great reaction again ... and yes what a couple of songs for the finale ending the first night of their two biggest shows to date. The lights at the start were the 55,000 LED neck braces the audience were all wearing - yes the Tokyo Dome is huge. As they toured the world they realised their fans must e learning Japanese to sing along with them. As a mark of their respect and love for their fans (also The One of course) they thought they should reciprocate and challenged themselves to learn a song completely in English ... this is that song. It is dedicated to the fans and is effectively their love letter to the fans. Where to go from here ... those 6 songs you haven't heard or reacted to yet are a good start. As Jake Muller has said, your copy has 'From Dusk Till Dawn', the Japanese edition had 'Syncopation' instead, so maybe there is one more track on this album that you haven't heard. For Gillian, maybe two or three songs you really liked or maybe songs you have heard that you think are her style or maybe just two or three songs that you've heard and recall as being very different to each other ...
Parcero, es nuestro himno! Adorar a babymetal es un placer y no una obligación. Su belleza y talento no tienen comparación en este universo. Bacano que tienes el l.p.
They certainly are the One! It’s worth getting a copy of the Tokyo Dome concert as over the 2 nights they play every song from their first 2 albums so it’s well worth it. Try Karate with Gillian, either live at download 2016 or the official video, both great though live is best. Great reactions and looking forward to your next Babymetal reaction.
Great Great job sir! And congratulations on your purchase. May it bring you hours of joy and contentment. I remember your first reaction to BabyMetal (Karate at Budokan) and have enjoyed your exploration of their music catalog. Till next time.
I watched this for the first time a few years ago. But I watched the whole show, uncut. I absolutely lost it during the transition. All of the lights; the neck braces (corsets) - each one is one of 55,000 people, but they are all THERE. All there for one reason. All making a completely unique, once in a lifetime experience happen. It won't happen again. I'm choking up writing this. It's a truly beautiful thing. Now, every time I hear The One, I lose it a little. I lost it HARD when I saw the 2018 Kansas City, Missouri show. They were singing The One, but there was one member missing. We didn't know then what we know now and it hurt. It still hurts. I love the song, I love the message, I love the idea of it. I just wish Yui was there. If she's able, she needs to come back and perform The One again. Soon™. If you don't choke up a little or have some kind of reaction to this song, then we can't get drunk together.
This was Red Night. The first night of this two night sold out series. 110,000 people total. If you have an extra $90 I recommend purchasing this concerts Blu-ray. Such a great performance and worth the price.
I suggest that you use the links below From the Babymetal Reactor Resource ruclips.net/video/q40VmTHSh4c/видео.html Going forward, if reactors want to keep reacting to the videos, I've come up with a solution that will make it possible to continue using the videos with logos that have already been tested against blocks. I've made a spreadsheet - docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZYdthVAHYaOAYL6AuhVOHotQinMoPPFEuspqDMIIGD4/edit#gid=0 with links to both the logo videos and the non-logo videos and are hosing them on a Russian social media site that won't remove them, and is out of the reach of the copyright trolls. There are a bit over 30 videos on there now, but I'll keep uploading more every day until they're all backup. I'll also be adding new videos that I'll test on an alt RUclips account before adding to the spreadsheet. If you can't access the spreadsheet for whatever reason, here are direct links to both the non-logo videos and the videos with logos: No logos - ok.ru/video/c6630874 With logos - ok.ru/video/c7184602 For reactors that want to put their own logo over the videos, here is a link to the logos I use that are already made transparent - drive.google.com/file/d/1JUVfJGp36xR2n1FHl7PzRIxXhA5P4VyW/viewor you can use whatever logo you'd like. You can download the videos, which I recommend since the site can be a bit laggy sometimes, from this free website - sovid.net/ I recommend using the "HD" option when downloading to keep the file size reasonably small. Although there are other videos on my channel there, only use the ones on the spreadsheet because some of the other non-logo videos aren't RUclips safe. Kitsunes UP!
Don't know if this is Red Night or Black Night, but this is the Tokyo Dome in 2016(?). 55,000 fans for Su to sing to. How many performers have a song written about their fans and sing it to them? You are the One, I am the One, We are the One.
The black costumes were Red Night. The red costumes were Black Night. That's typically how you can tell which night a show is. They stuck to that for most 2-show sets.
No matter how often I watch this, it amazes and touches me every time. From the sheer scope of it you'd think this would have to be one of the biggest, internationally popular bands around like Queen or something, but it's a "small" niche band from Japan. Unbelievable.
As I'm sure quite a few of the fans have pointed out, my favourite part of this song is seeing Su's jaw drop when she saw the crowd's neckbrace lights all lit up. Its one of the few rare moments when Su is caught off guard by anything. 😁😁😁🤘🦊🤘
"Tales of the Destinies" and "The One" were conceived together and when you hear them together you get an even greater emotional impact than with "The One" on it's own. I bought the Tokyo Dome DVD just for the live perfromance of "Tales of the Destinies" and "The One". It's 20 mins of brilliant emotional manipulation. "The One" is less synchopated than "TOTD" but they share a melody. It's still prog rock and it reminds me of those epic prog rock productions of the 70s and 80s - it could be Yes and the comparison is high praise for BM's producer, Kei Kobayashi, the song writers, BM and the Kamis. Su, Moa and Yui sing it beautifully, but the English lyrics are a bit clunky, IMO. This song it a gift from BM to their fans and it has an amazing emotional impact. Get some concert DVDs/Blurays and you'll see so much more that watching or listening to individual tracks, albums or CDs. BM are a real contradiction. Kobayashi is famously careful not to allow any publicity with the girls outside of their BM personas, but he does try to "bridge the gap" to the fans with the lore, flying pyramids, and also with various thrust stages in concerts. Even with a lack of social media many fans feel a deep connection with BM and its members, particularly if they have followed the members from their start with Sakura Gakuin. Kobayashi has build on the connection with lore and emotional songs and the fans have created their own sub-culture, lore and memes, involving tomatoes, Deloreans, frogs etc. However, when a fanbase identifies so strongly with a group, change can be difficult and that was shown when Yui left and Mikio died. Many fans still miss them and BM have not been able to reach such emotional heights without them...again IMO. So to answer your question about "where do BM go" from this performance, I think they have been persevering and pushing through tough times, but not doing anything as artistically satisfying. Let's see what "The Other One" has in store.
Great reaction, thanks! Looks like all of us are here to see Su-metal turning into Su-chan for a little second when she saw the neckbraces lit for the first time. Her face of amazement is priceless 😊 The Tokyo Dome shows are impressive for many reasons: biggest concerts, crazy stage setup, performing their whole discography at the moment and moments like this, the "TOTD" + "The ONE" combo is so special.
Great reaction. There is an exclusive song on the international release of the Metal Resistance album “From Dusk Till Dawn” that is still my number one Babymetal song. Before you close the Metal Resistance chapter you should defo check out the 2021 Budokan performance of that song. It is available on the Reactor Resource channel if I am not mistaken. The Tokyo Dome holds 55.000 fans and you can see Su breaking character for a split second when she saw all the fans with the lights turned on.
