I just wanted to say, your last bit about the bags being leather and coated in wax. Its in fact, Vinyl, then wrapped in cotton and coated with several layers of PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride). Just wanted to share that with you. :)
I completely agree. I can't stand it when people try to count other people's money. They don't know what we have in our bank account or what other things we spend our money on. Oh well- you can't fix stupid! ;)
I still don't understand why some people react so strongly in a negative fashion. Do they not realize that no one is forcing them to watch, and that whatever they say isn't going to change what I do?
I see-I can't possible enjoy nice things AND help others? Your operating theory is that if others can't have them, then I shouldn't either? Right. If it bothers you so much, why did you watch a video that is clearly titled "My Louis Vuitton Collection"? If you can afford a nice computer or smartphone, then maybe you should give those up and give the money you spent to someone who needs it more.
You have a beautifully appointed home, and a gorgeous handbag collection. I must say, it's not pretentious to try to use correct diction when pronouncing French, and other foreign words. It's actually quite the reverse. People in different countries appreciate it immensely when you try. We don't learn enough foreign languages in this country as it is, we should at least have the politesse to attempt to correctly pronounce the foreign words we do come across in daily life. And there's absolutely no shame in sounding a bit silly if it doesn't come out right...
I'm going for the Neverful next. I too buy mine after something major. I bought my Tivoli after surviving breast ca & a different flap at 36. Then a PE 3wks after an 18hr surgery. I deserved it. Lol
Great collection. As far as trying to pronounce the names correctly in French... Not pretentious at all. It just shows respect. When people try to pronounce words in my native tongue correctly, i happen to appreciate it :-)
It's not that you need to pay for it with cash per se, but that you should be able to afford it without making payments. If you have to finance a luxury item, then it's not in your budget (at this time). That's why it's a luxury item and not a necessity. So, if you can afford it, by all means use a credit or debit card to purchase it, but then pay off the full balance when the bill comes.
You're right, it's none of your business. While you're wondering if I have better things to do, I guess the same could be said of you. Why are you watching a video that is clearly titled "My Louis Vuitton Collection" if you know it will upset you? And since you're so interesting in growing mentally and reading, perhaps you should add this title to your book list: The Ladybird Book of Spelling and Grammar by Audrey Daly.
I was just looking at comments on that channel yesterday. I get so many hater comments on that channel that it really makes me reluctant to put more up. I don't buy what I want, when I want. Right now, we need a new sofa, and we're saving. It's all matter of what you can afford. I do 90% of my shopping at the local grocery, but supplement it with small trips to Whole Foods. I have one pair of Seven jeans, but lots of Target jeans. It's obviously all relative.
It is ridiculous for a grown woman to be "shamed" into buying thousands of dollars of merchandise because she was embarrassed that she bought fakes. Shame on the manager for making her feel that way and shame on her for giving in to it. Plus, everyone knows that Hong Kong is famous for their knock offs, so I'm sure that woman absolutely knew what she was doing.
What I'm saying is that it's rather funny that every mean spirited comment I've received has had errors in it. When talking to other people who make videos, they've noticed the same thing. I'm not drawing a conclusion, merely sharing an observation that rude people on YT lack manners, as well as a grasp of basic rules of grammar and spelling.
I'm really not sure how any of those incredibly sad situations have anything to do with a beauty channel. Whether or not I share my purse collection on YT isn't going to change the world. My aunt has cancer and she loves talking about purses and shopping-it helps to cheer her up. You know what? You're sad.
They're not luxury brands, but I guess I would put them in an entry level category. Since Coach bags always go on clearance at the outlet malls, it's hard to consider them even an expensive bag. Tory Burch is a little more expensive. I'd say they're department store brands, but not luxury. At the end of the day, if you like them, that's all that matters!
The only other designer bag I have is from Mulberry. I have a Tory Burch envelope bag, but I don't consider that at quite the same level. There are many other designers I'd love to own (Gucci, Chanel, Balenciaga, to name a few) but none in my collection yet!
I understand that, but I usually look up where they're from and surprisingly, they're mostly American. And no matter what language you speak, as long as it uses the Latin alphabet, they ALL start sentences with capital letters and end with some sort of punctuation.
This may sound callous, but it's meant to be good financial advice. A person shouldn't buy anything, barring a car or a house, unless they can afford to pay for it outright. If they need to finance a purchase, then they can't really afford it and should save up until they can.
Why do you have to ask? How is that relevant to this video, or any of your business? If you wouldn't ask someone that in person (and if you had any manners, you wouldn't), then why do you think it's all right to ask me on the Internet?
Everyone has a budget, it's just that the numbers may be a bit different. Just set aside a certain amount each month, and when you have enough saved up, buy it with cash. But don't buy it if it's at the expense of necessary items.
I have thought about the accessories, but I personally think they are priced SO high for what they are. When I got the Speedy, I really wanted to get one of the key chains to put on it, but the keychain cost half the price of the bag! Ouch!
No offense taken. It just sounds sort of odd when a person is speaking in a completely different accent (English, American, etc) and then just busts out into French. But that's my personal opinion, and it's not a big deal. :)
I would LOVE a Mulberry bag. I was hoping there was a Mulberry store in Bermuda, but sadly they left the island a few years ago. If there had been, I would have come home with one and not my new Eva clutch!
It's a valid question. Because it's an iconic French brand, I want one that was actually made in France. It's not an issue of patriotism at all. I just wanted one that was more "truly" French.
I read it, I think that not only are you rude and slightly disgusting, but I would like to know why you refuse to spell correctly. Is that something they teach in troll school?
Louis Vuitton purses never go on sale. I've confirmed that with several sales associates in different stores. So I think it's very unlikely that the outlet is selling authentic pieces.
I haven't had to remove a single comment so far. It still cracks me up that EVERY negative comment I've ever received had something either grammatically incorrect or misspelled.
I like the gold plate better on the Monogram. The one on the Damier is a bigger. But I like the Damier too, and have been second guessing whether or not I should have gotten that one! ;)
I don't want to debate this with you, but I find your story highly unlikely. I think your friend either made it up or embellished parts of the story quite a bit.
So far I've only had to not approve one. It was kind of funny, though, because like all the rest, it was full of spelling errors and nonsense. My husband is amazing!
I appreciate feedback from viewers, but honestly, looking at your comment, you are just a brat, and extremely rude from the tone of your comment.
That's what I thought, too, then a sales associate at the LV store insisted they were leather. I'm sorry, but those look like waxed canvas to me!
I have quite a few videos with Bosley (he is a male) in them. You should check out my other channel, LifeWithGoldgirl, to see more of him!
I know I can ignore them, but sometimes it feels good to just tweak their noses a bit. It's an immature way for me to let off some steam.
I have a shelf in my closet that I keep them in, and if I know I'm not going to use it for awhile, I'll put them in their dust bags.
That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. If you're not buying a LV in the actual store, then you know it's not real.
I haven't had to yet. I've heard baby wipes are good. I would just go to their website and see what they recommend to use.
Let me clarify-if you are a French speaker, then it sounds wonderful. If you're an American, it just sounds obnoxious.
I love the Galliera, but I wanted something that zipped. If that doesn't matter to you, I'd go with the Galliera.
I knew a lot of that, but not all of it. I did know that the LV monogram is a tribute by the son for his father.
Please, butt in!! Thank goodness there's someone else in the world who understood what I was trying to say!
I'm just a girl talking about my experience. Like it or not, it's not your place to judge. Sound familiar?
What I meant was the only way you'll be entirely sure they're real is if you buy them at a LV store.
Mine is named Bosley! You should watch my Furry Friends Tag video. You'll hear all about him.
I get it professionally done. I have no idea what my formula is, and she's not telling. :)
Why do you assume we don't do that already? It's not an either/or for us. We do both.
The service was great. Their cleaning tips can be found on their website.
Out of interest (hope you don't take offence) what is wrong with someone saying Louis Vuitton in a french accent? To me it's like if you were to speak french why would you speak the language in another accent?
I haven't owned them for longer than two years, but so far, no problems.
What was her plan? To walk around with the purse in the bag? ;)
Can you believe that now the puppy can leap right over the gate?!
I definitely prefer Saks over Neiman Marcus for customer service.
I think I did. I was a 2nd grade teacher and reading specialist.
I guess that's a discussion you need to have with your husband.
They are now sold with a strap, but not when I bought it. :(
I know the Eva clutch was so cheap when you got it it did go up just before they discontinued it I have two of them and you know what I never use them they’re so small but I do like looking at them lol
They are actually waxed canvas, not leather. My mistake!
I want your husband! Lol! He is definitely a keeper!
Sure. And the Rangers. Sometimes for the Cowboys, too.
If it's too full, it does start to hurt after awhile.
...It shows respect for that culture, in that you're trying--and that's what's most important. You clearly have a deep respect for the history behind the manufacture of these incredible bags; their names, the stories behind the roots of those words, and the reasons behind why they were chosen is part of that. So, I hope you'll google the names next time. It'll give you the pronunciation and a bit of the history. And that'll only enrich the lovely story that binds you to these bags--and give you more fodder for storytelling when you pass them down to your granddaughters ;)
Can I borrow your hubby? kidding :P
I so wish the neverfull was still under $1000...
Check them out used! There are tons on eBay under $1000
Just trying to find some humor in the situation.
I don't have any, but they seem very nice.
My best friend says it's ridiculous that I wear clothes from Target/Walmart while carrying an LV bag, but that's just how I roll! ;)
Love your video! And I really want that Thames PM bag! I just bought a Graceful Pm and and a preowned Delightful PM. Don’t let anyone make you feel guilty about buying your favorite things. I had a 500+ Bath & Body Works candle collection and also sell them but really enjoyed collecting them. I never burned them. I’m more into their hand soaps. I was told I was a crazy hoarder until I started getting triple the price I paid for the candles. I took the money from those sales and bought my LV bags. Hoarders don’t let things go but it’s a collecting thing so I totally understand when people showcase their collections here. Love yours! Xo
Congratulations! Which one did you get?
I just wanted to mix it up a little bit.
Get the Neverful. You won't regret it.
But hopefully daughters-in-law one day!
I'll fix that in the description box.
You can comment as much as you want!
I don't see how that's relevant.
If you know the history of the Speedy, it was originally made as a small luggage for women who traveled. Louis Vuitton made luggage in the late 1800's. The train and steam ship was the way for the wealthy to travel. Very rich women carried those bag,. which is why one needed a lock. It was Audry Hepburn, who asked Louis Vuitton to make a smaller Speedy so she could use it as a handbag. Louis Vuitton never lived long enough to see his company prosper. His son took over and the company took off..
I have a the neverfull for school and work in Damier Ebene GM, and it is just amazing! I absolutely love your collection! I am a huge lover of the small leather goods!
i love your bag collection! =)
They can last a hundred years.
We will have a little chat. :)
Beautiful collection, thanks for sharing. I have a wonderful husband who's favorite past time is spoiling me too....boys, go figure! Good for you!
I use mine all year round.
It made me smile every time you talked about how much your husband spoils you! So jealous! Lol
I haven't tried that one.
That is beyond strange!!
It's the medium-the MM
That's not a bad idea!
So far, no tarnishing!
I should, but I don't.
I will give it a try!
Yes, and yes he is!
Apology accepted.
