Yes they really dug in on those snow covered streets. I was lucky enough to get a set of steelies from a Mav XL and painted them to match my carb gray Mav per my video from before the snow hit. I hope to earn your sub and referrals Rusty!
While I waited for my Maverick video, I have enjoyed your videos. Did you know when you remote start, a tiny LED lights up on your fob to let you know if the start was successful? Took me a few tries to notice it. Also on mine, I opted for the optional 17" machine-faced wheels with the A/T tires and I can tell you my Mav will claw its way up steep snowy hills (like my driveway) with no problem whatsoever. The AWD system on these things is surprisingly capable.
Yes it took me some time to notice the remote start light too. I am still learning about the Mav after 2 years of ownership. As for the AWD, my videos during the huge snow year last winter show the Mav climbing up slippery roads even with the Conti tires. Thanks for saying you like my vids! I am just a rookie trying to be different than the guys that make you stare at them most of the video. Thanks for subbing too Justin!
My favorite things I ordered with my Maverick is.. Luxury package, co pilot 360, Sunroof.. Great video buddy! Always enjoy the snow driving vids! Very capable truck indeed..
Hi Mr Denny! Yes, I know you have a Mav. The hybrid is great but for about $10 more per tank, the AWD has a lot more capability. Like I said on the video, now that the hybrid engine costs +$1500, $10 more per tank equals 150 fill ups for the turbo AWD.
We live in the south but just had an 8 snowfall our maverick withAWD handled it with stock continental tires, no slipping/spinning,we are loving this truck. Noticed you have your blizzards on XL wheels
Nice! Glad you got the AWD. Works great in mud, snow, and light off road. Yes I have Blizzaks now but per my videos last winter of the huge snow year in PC, the Mav climbed steep slick roads with the Conti tires no problem. I never had to put chains on. Surprised me actually. Welcome! Thanks for subbing.
Mitchell, my other favorite! You are right about FWD. My video posted 2-25-23 shows a FWD Ford Explorer with its front wheels spinning in place on the same snowy incline my Mav AWD climbed with ease just minutes earlier.
I just watched your video from last winter, and it did great even with the standard tires, but good winter tires definitely makes a huge difference! Looks like a really nice neighbourhood too btw :)
Yes, last winter was huge but we never had to get out of the Maverick in a miserable storm to put chains on the Contis. The Blizzaks are even better. Thanks for taking a drive with us!
Yes Smitty, that will not happen with a manual shift knob. People complain about the electronic hockey puck shifter but it makes more sense. It even shifts to park when you open the door. No more getting out and have a vehicle roll forward still in drive.
Those tires make any vehicle go great in the snow. And being a Maverick, no worry about them being destroyed off road. Only need AWD or 4wd in heavy rain (maybe) or in snow no need for it on drive pavement. On my GMCs never engaged AWD except in the heavy snow. I'll stick with part time AWD/4wd or just a part time 4WD system and a real truck (body on frame). But I do like the color. And they are sharp looking. Be a great everyday driver for the malls. Now, let's talk about that towing capacity? Just joking.
Well yes you got it right towing is a joke. I call this a little Tonka truck. However for most people, 2,000lb tow is plenty for when they tow a jet ski, a teardrop camper, or when they rent a utility trailer from UHaul. I have 4,000lb tow option to do more, but this is not a truck to replace a full size for those who need 7,000+ towing. But notice that the Mav's 1500 lb payload is actually more than a lot of full size trucks. My friend's Tundra has only a 1200 lb payload. The Mav AWD with Blizzaks really digs into the snow. I never had to put chains on. Great input Mr Fstop! Thanks for subbing!
Yes Darren, the T is a great step up. Sure it does not tow as much but 2k will be enough to tow a dirt bike or jet ski trailer. Welcome! And thanks for subbing to my over 150 Mav only videos.
@fordmaverickmaniac I plan to do more off roading than heavy towing with my Maverick. I tow at most two sleds on a trailer or a few dirt bikes. I liked that the Tremor had a better approach angle on the front bumper and a factory lift and rear diff locker and 4WD. Used the 4WD lock on the way to work this morning and Tremor package actually comes with Falken Wildpeake AT3W and they are hooking up well! I Beat the plows out this morning on the way to work. 🤘
Thanks for posting! I'm in Michigan and I'm leaving for work in a few, I get to test out my Hankook Dynapro ATs for the first time today!! You also reminded me about slippery mode so thank you for that.
Hello James, thanks for the thanks! Yes every Mav owner should get snow tires or all terrains for snow country. Slippery mode lowers the gear so it feels different, the Mav grips the road better. You should post snow vids from MI. I will sub!
I also live in Northern Utah and I have the dynapro AT 2s on my truck. They've been amazing so far. Greatly exceeded expectations in snow (on and off road), mud, rocks, and resilience being aired down to 15psi
@@fordmaverickmaniac I just might next time we go wheeling! I do have another channel where I post powerlifting training videos if that interests you. Channel name is "Josh Lipp"
I thought the music was catchy but what do I know. The music choices that do not have copyright issues are limited. Some are a little too much rock and distracting, others are sleepy elevator sound. But thanks for the compliment, really! I am just a rookie trying to be different than the channels that make you stare at them most of the video. Thanks for subbing Abell!
Unplowed snow is a lot when trying to climb uphill on slippery streets. I saw some FWD vehicles with their front wheels spinning in place or sliding on a downhill. Thanks David!
What is your favorite feature to order for your Maverick?
Blizzak tires are the best of the best for winter driving.
Yes they really dug in on those snow covered streets. I was lucky enough to get a set of steelies from a Mav XL and painted them to match my carb gray Mav per my video from before the snow hit. I hope to earn your sub and referrals Rusty!

In this video it is as capable as a 90s corolla on snow tires!

Winter tires are a game changer.
Yes especially Blizzaks. Great name Superfly! If you have a channel I will sub.
Front wheel drive gives terrible uphill traction when going up switchbacks in a loaded up (weight wise) truck or an SUV.
Mitchell, my other favorite! You are right about FWD. My video posted 2-25-23 shows a FWD Ford Explorer with its front wheels spinning in place on the same snowy incline my Mav AWD climbed with ease just minutes earlier.
@@fordmaverickmaniac I will definitely watch that video!

I like that you can turn off the vehicle in drive and it puts it in park.
Yes Smitty, that will not happen with a manual shift knob. People complain about the electronic hockey puck shifter but it makes more sense. It even shifts to park when you open the door. No more getting out and have a vehicle roll forward still in drive.
I do like the slippery mode in my f250 it takes the fun out but nice to just drive
Yes, slippery mode grips the road better but I think it is still pretty fun. Thanks for sharing my channel!

I borrowed a Maverick for this recent storm, handled fine with ATs
Yes, good tires handles a lot of road conditions. Maybe you need to buy a Mav! (I like spending other people's money.) Thanks Charles!
did you paint your steel wheels? Why do they look better than mine???
Tremor Package with advanced AWD. Love the Inclinometer and angles so you if you slip you know what pitch your on.

@joshl.1978 Nice Josh! I need a little motivation to push harder. I subbed and will recommend.
Would you recommend the Ford Maverick to others?
I already have many times. I own both versions and I recommend the turbo AWD over the hybrid.
Welcome CW!
Thanks for sharing sir!
Wow...sir! I must be important. Thanks for the thanks! And thanks for subbing, I really appreciate it Reagan!
any luck getting XL lug nuts so the center caps can be installed?
The Blizzaks will be coming off in about 75 days so I will give the correct steelie lug nuts to the tire store next November. Thanks for asking Steve!
other then the finger snap crap.....NICE Video...
