This is certainly a hard challenge. The problem is many were either famous before photography, or photography was in it's infancy, so their images are rarely seen.

About 33 out of 40. This was a good quiz, much more challenging than multiple choice quizes, which I can almost always guess correctly.

This quiz popped up in my recommended today. I love quizzes. 26 of 40 I knew from the paintings or photographs. The others I had heard most of their names before but just had no idea what they looked like.

We got the same score and I totally agreed with you that we know lots of them but sometimes never see or be unfamiliar with their face
I’ve not seen pictures of most of these historical figures but I am happy that I knew who 37 of them were when the names flashed up. Thank you for posting this as it was a fun challenge.

Most of them were dead easy, but I had no idea what Simon Bolivard, Dickens, Descartes. Pasteur, Watt, or Copernicus looked like!
27/40 those guys with the long beards got me
Pretty poor 20/40, although I'd heard of them all. Mistook 3 early ones for Copernicus and then missed him when he finally came up :D
I did slightly better, but I wanted the quiz to end early, so I could increase my chances at getting more right. No such luck. As I continued, my percentage of correct responses declined. Oh, well! Fudgesickle!🍭
Thanks a lot for this I discover your channel it's great! what is great about your quizz is that these people can be categorized as important people in history you have to know! so it's really helpful! really difficult because of old photographies we don't know their faces but we know their names! but very challenging!
For Marie Curie you should’ve picked a photo of her when she was older, as that would’ve been more recognizable.

Only missed 6 or 7, which is not too bad. Hadn't heard of about 4 of those. Great quiz.

Drew a blank on Jane Austen, mistook Bolívar for Santa Anna, hesitated on Da Vinci and Shakespeare but my first instinct was correct. Good quiz!

Fantastic quiz. Difficult but educational. I got maybe 10 only but not embarrassed. I knew about 20 of these figure.

I honestly find too many Anglophone figure, especially American. Why not Michelangelo? Vivaldi? Suleiman? Robespierre? Voltaire? Or Woytijla.
I never heard some names of some of these Anglophones people. I guess it's OK for an American or AngloSaxon perspective, but why Victoria and not, you know, Caesar, Charlemagne, Augustus?
I got 22 correct ... I confess, I had never even heard of 2 or 3 of them... some were basically iconically recognizable ...some were educated guesses. When I saw Pasteur, I said ..."hmm..I don't know, but he's French..." ...so, was kinda on the right track..
27/40 I thought I’d do better. Some of them were on the tip of my tongue but couldn’t recall within the timeframe. Great video quiz. Thanks

24/40. I think I got every photo one right except Pasteur and Florence Nightingale (who was pretty good-looking I'd say), and I got almost every portrait wrong except the real obvious ones like Napoleon and Washington.
That was a very young Florence Nightingale. Most pictures I’ve seen showed her at older ages. I guessed that one correctly, though.
Tough quiz! Darwin was easy LOL! I missed 15.
Despite being 15 in iran, i got 26/40 i think that's a good score but gotta learn more!

got the first 5 (i'm going to get all 40) didn't recognize marie currie, hadn't seen a portrait so i had no idea what she really looked like. then it got tough with all the old paintings.

Here's a tip to get a higher score. Mute the audio. It will stop the annoying, mind numbing "music" to allow you to think of the answer more quickly.

Faces don't really test your historical knowledge. If you had a blurb like "discoverer of uranium", "author of the theory of relativity", " first president of the US", etc., then this quiz would have been more useful.

Missed 10. I feel pretty good about that. Of those, I recognized having seen some of the portraits but obviously couldn't match a name to the face.

The Detroit Red Wings owner Mike Ilitch paid Rosa Park's rent from the time she was attacked in her apartment in 1994 until her death in 2005. I know that because a friend of mine played for the Red Wings for 10 years and he said Mike Ilitch was the greatest person he has ever met.
I hope you added some information about their legacy. As a take away. But I'm happy about ur content. I know some of them..☺

Marie Curie, Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, Simón Bolívar, Rene Descartes, Louis Pasteur, Nicolaus Copernicus, James Watt, Adam Smith ... in my defense; in my youth i knew these; (Except for = Jane Austen - Rene Descartes - James Watt - Adam Smith ← Had absolutely No Idea who this particular individual Was; Never ... 'Heard of Him' ... In My LIFE!) and Secondly = ALL Were ... "Non-AMERICANS"! ... I Knew EVERY ... "American Historical Figure" ... On THIS!

The twelve wrong were all painted, except for Freud…so familiar but his name wouldn’t come in time. Seem many, many portraits of Marie Antoinette, none of them looked like the one shown here
