Half of two plus two is ambiguous. Your answer is for "(half of two) plus two". It could also mean "half of (two plus two)", in which case the answer is two.
@Claudette Shippey Your rendition of the equation requires brackets ie (1/2 x 2 ) + 2 = 3. As the question was posed as a sentence, punctuation was necessary to convey the equation accurately ie needed a comma after the first 2. The answer is 2 as presented in the video.
No, it doesn’t need brackets, indeed brackets comes before adidtion, but sides multiplication, mathematically your point is invalid, grammatically your argument isn’t fully nonsensical however you take what comes first in English, unless a word such as but not limited to “before” or “previously” is used, so half of two comes first, therefore you do that first.
In any mathematical equation or question, if there are no indications as to the order- it is the accepted rule that the order is x, divide,+,-. To half something is to divide by 2 hence it is before the addition
Question #1: Although operator precedence does indeed play a key role here, for a written expression, "of" introduces a clause, evaluated separately, which mathematically is the equivalent of a parenthesis. Thus, the "square root of 4 minus 1" is not understood as sqrt(4)-1, but rather sqrt(4-1). Here, "half of 2 plus 2" is understood to be (1/2)(2 + 2). To say what you intended, you would write "half of 2, plus two", indicating via the comma to compute the intermediate result, then add 2 more.
3 is a possible answer to the first question, but so is 4. As framed, the question is ambiguous and a comma would have made your answer the only correct one. Cutlery as well as a plate for question 2. Otherwise 10/10.
I thought of all of the above too. However, in math, there is a rule and that rule would mean that you do the first part of the equation first. Because of that rule , no comma is needed in a math sentence.
For riddle 2, you could also have fork, knife or spoon, they equally are as logical. I thus awarded myself a point because it makes perfect sense. The problem with questions like this is sometimes you haven't got one definitive answer, unlike the Kiwi riddle in your thumbnail. All the other questions I got the same answers as yours.
For those who thinks 3 is answer here is explanation so they asked half of 2 plus 2 not (half of 2) plus 2 if really they asked this like then solution will be: (half of 2)=1 +2 = 3 so they didn't ask like this 😅

To the developer of this test: There is an objective reason why the answer for the first riddle is absolutely, two, and not three: In the English language, the inclusion, omission, and placement of commas are NOT trivial. They are detrimental to the meaning of your communications. Since you elected to phrase the question in English, your omission of a comma before the word "plus" will only have one acceptable answer for this equation: Two. And the so called mathematical "PEMDAS-approach" will NOT change anything. If your intention was for the test-takers to derive at "three" as the answer, then the absolutely only acceptable written question, has to be phrased as follows: "What is half of two, plus two?" Think of it this way: "Let's eat grandma!" versus "Let's eat, grandma!"
I agree, but I think it depends on whether you have a mathemetician's mind or a linguistic one. In math, I believe you have to do the division first. I got this one wrong, but I should have known it wouldn't be that obvious. Riddles are tricks and the listeners job is to discover it. Good fun, though.
@@dalaidolly5017, I respectfully, yet vehemently, disagree. There isn't a "mathematician mind" versus a "linguistic mind", as you have suggested. I am a computational neuroscientist, and by your logic, I should agree that the answer to the aforementioned equation is three. But objectively, the answer will always be two. There are specific inflexible rules in computation that apply, depending on the chosen mode of communication. And if one deviates from the rules, one has objectively derived at the wrong answer. There are two ways of communicating mathematical equations. One is the universally preferable method of using mathematical symbols. The second is the linguistic expression of a mathematical concept. If one opts for the latter, one must abide by the linguistic rules of the chosen language. Imagine the real-world chaos that could ensue if one decides to simply subjectively override the rules. And yes, I agree, riddles are fun. But even in the context of light-hearted riddles, one should try to remain as accurate as possible.

For # 7, you could have also stated the amount of shampoo left in the bottle (although "bar of soap" is admittedly the better sounding answer). For riddle # 9, you didn't word it properly. By stating each daughter has "a" brother, that's a generalization that could mean any particular one of several brothers that they have. You should have stated "each daughter has *one* brother". Finally, for riddle # 10, although technically correct, the better correct answer would have been "a noun" (A noun is a person, place or thing, which all of those items were) "Kiwi" is way too obscure. Well I would have had five out of ten if I wasn’t so cocky on the last question. I swear it was a noun, person place or thing . The key to riddles is in the question. They are trick questions and you have to really read it. Maybe a couple of times. That’s how I got only 4 right, but I would have gotten more wrong if I didn’t realize to really read it.
I'm no genius, but I got all 10 in the time given. I am sure most folks did. Though I can see how the first one would be easy to answer a different way due to the lack of a comma.

Good job, Binky Melnik! 🤗😊👍
If it was written properly to distinguish it from the rest of the question it wouldn't be a riddle, it'd be too obvious that anyone with two brain cells would get, and there's another answer to. I get smaller every time I take a bath? But only if the water is freezing cold and you're a man, if you get what I mean 😆 what am I?
@Maurìce, 🙄🙄🤓🤓🤣🤣😜😜
@Maurìce, we don't know...please, tell us the answer. 😊😜🤣
@@englishtestsandlogic his full name's Richard but you have to shorten it

You are a kiwi! As a bird, the kiwi is a flightless bird native to New Zealand. As a fruit, the kiwi is a small, fuzzy brown fruit with green flesh and black seeds. And as a person, "kiwi" is also a colloquial term for a person from New Zealand.
Nice job!
Very interesting.I enjoyed this.

5/10
3/10 Kind of hard but enjoyable
Shouldn't it be "wishing" you the best of luck? #2 Could also have been a "fork."
I said utensils. I gave myself a point for that
But do you put a plate in your mouth, some people have ended up eating utensils such as spoons, knives, forks, idk how but they had been eaten without being broken, to eat a plate you'd have to break it, I don't recommend eating a plate or a fork unless you with to go to the ER though
Riddle 9: I thought it was 10, because I thought that each daughter had their own brother. But actually, it is 6.
Hey❤️ I may not know you personally however I care about you deeply because I know how much you mean to Jesus The King of all creation . I want to tell you that Jesus Christ loves you so much, he died for our sins so that whoever believes in him wouldn’t have to perish in hell but instead have eternal life in heaven. You need to understand that HEAVEN and HELL are 1000% REAL they aren’t imaginary , and hell is a horrible place I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. God doesn’t want you to end up there he wants you in heaven and so he is giving you a chance to accept the sacrifice of his son Jesus Christ and be saved. Day by Day the world is falling apart because we are literally living in the last days of Earth there is no doubt or debate about it, Jesus Christ is coming faster then you think to bring judgement to the world and to destroy it. This really is URGENT, it’s NOT A JOKE ,Tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone, you can be alive one minute and gone the next, please take this opportunity to be on the side of Mercy confess your sins and wicked ways to Jesus , sincerely REPENT/turn away from them, ask for his forgiveness, and be baptized at a real bible believing church- ask him to enter your heart and to be your Lord and Savior before it is too late , truly believe in him and he WILL do it because it is his promise. It’s important that you seek the righteous and Holy path of the Most high God so that you may inherit eternal life and be spared of Hell fire. You can begin a new life in Christ and have a genuine relationship with him, please repent. Jesus changed my life and he will change yours too🥰, May the Lord be with you eternally💕🙏🏾
Lool Thought so too!!

Thumbnail answer: You're a kiwi; the smallest ratite, a fuzzy and tart fruit, a person from New Zealand.

Tell us you didn’t watch the video without telling us you didn’t watch the video!
1) half of 2 = 1
=1+2=3
I got most of them so, it's a little far fetched to say that only a genius gets them right. A bunch are common sense
Common sense for some isn't common, at all. 🤔😜
Common sense is an oxymoron. If common sense was truly common, EVERYONE would have it.
I got 5 correct👍...very trick riddles!😃
I thought “Water gun” was the right answer for #5 but i guess not 😀
same 😂
I went with basketball
Yup, I also thought that ❤️❤🙄🙄🙄
You must be American to think of a type of gun first!
A penis solves the riddle as well.
No need to be a genius to answer these questions, anybody can answer this, which includes me 😂😂
"Jack" also works for #10. For #2, spoon, fork, knife, plate, bowl, and chopsticks are also potential answers.
I got 5/10❤❤♡
Well done! ❤️👍
riddle 10 could be cloud since cloud form shape of fruit ,human ,bird in the sky

@@englishtestsandlogic thank you

Total I answered 5 questions correctly 😊
Thought the 1st question was the easiest of them all!! 💕🙏🍀😊
Got 8 half of 2 plus 2 took thought had to remember orders of operations multiply and divide then add and subtract
Well done! Thanks for taking the quiz!
We answered 4 correctly
Thanks for this Riddle ❤❤❤
Well done! ❤
Fantastic. I answered 4
Well done!
Well I would have had five out of ten if I wasn’t so cocky on the last question. I swear it was a noun, person place or thing . The key to riddles is in the question. They are trick questions and you have to really read it. Maybe a couple of times. That’s how I got only 4 right, but I would have gotten more wrong if I didn’t realize to really read it.
for the last one what is the mother the candle or the box thing you light the matchstick up with?
Music is also very peaceful.❤
Thank you! 🤩👍
Very informative, updated and intelligent questions. One can watch it and can update themselves. Nice😊

Well done! There's always room for improvement.
you are doing a good job
Thank you!
My score 10/10💐🎉😁
Fantastic job! 💯❤️👍
Riddle 10 I guessed a Drake instead of kiwi. There is a drake bird, a person could be named Drake and of course the drake/passion fruit.
I'm no genius, but I got all 10 in the time given. I am sure most folks did. Though I can see how the first one would be easy to answer a different way due to the lack of a comma.
