These, kids, are what we used to call "musicians". Singers who actually sing without autotune, and musicians who actually play their instruments, LIVE. You'd never know that these fine gentlemen have aged 30+ years....Morris, Jesse, Jerome and the boys have still got it.

People just dont understand how GREAT this band is. You have arguably the greatest music producers of the past 50 years with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. The second greatest Hype man ever with Jerome (Flava Flav is the 1st). And one of the all time great guitar players with Jesse Johnson. Jesse is up there with Hendrix, Van Halen, Hazel, SRV and Vai.
Jesse is an incredible guitar player. They are all extremely talented musicians. They had to be to hang with Prince. Morris is the ultimate front man/showman.
I saw them along with Sheila E. doing a tribute to Prince in April 2019 and I promise they haven't lost a step. They looked, sounded and acted like they did 30yrs ago.
I have almost every record produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. What a pair those 2 are, and how great to see these guys in such good physical health! So many musicians damage themselves!
And I, a white man still dance to this and I am 59 years old. I miss the days when f who made the music just as long as it sounded good. God some of the best music ever.
Still jumming this tune it makes me feell at the Beliard, Dinkels on York Ville, Le Tube at T.O.Canada.very Cool Tune thanx Morris Day and the Time!!!!
My Brothas still looking good. No disrespect but they don't have that washed out been thru hell and back look that a lot of celebrities get from a life of excess!
Look at these Brothers!!! No uncontrolled hair. NO pants falling off their butts. No weapons. NO foul looking fake teeth. Folks... THESE ARE MEN!!! Look AT THE CLASS!!! BRING IT BROTHERS!!!
I'm a 57 year old man that in 84 thru 87 I absolutely got all the way down with Morris Day!!! God damn!!! We boogie boogie boogie and my God it was great!!! In Chicago so that means every soul brother who got down hard came though town. Why? Well this is were Chaka Kahn lived!!! Sheeeeeeet!!! Who didnt want to perform party and hangout with Chaka Kahn????
Not just The Time, but Gap Band, Dazz Band, The Minneapolis Sound, and the fantastic live bands that ruled the late 70s and early 80s. "Uptown Funk" is not an hommage as much as it's a blatant ripoff without public and copyright acknowledgement.
These guys haven't lost a step. If you are enjoying this in 2021, Holler if you hear me!

And AIN'T lost a step
You can NEVER hear this song too many times.....classic funk, Yea
Real musicians, real music.. no scratching, auto tune,computers...heck yes!!
Hey, don’t hate on scratching now. It helped make some good music. Now as for autotune, that’s cheating 👎🏾.
@@Monster-ed4rp Agreed!
My man Jesse workin' that Fender Stratocaster . He was in biker bar mode on this one.

Morris is the baddest badasses on the planet. You know what, he's hotter than Prince!! Nobody should be this damn F.I.N.E!!
This is how is done.
Ladies and Gentlemen, THE TIME!!!
Okay everybody who loved "Uptown funk" by Bruno Mars, here's where they got it from.
First time I heard "Uptown Funk" I was like, "That ain't nothin' but some Minneapolis Funk." Felt like it was a tribute of sorts, so I dug it.
Bruno Mars and the writer of the song “Uptown Funk” also “borrowed” from Prince’s song “Controversy”.
