Remembering tape trading with other phans back in the ‘90s. Wearing the cassette out on my favorite jams and closing my eyes imagining what the show must have been like. We’ve come a ways.
What I would do for a Phish show here in England, especially a headline spot like they had the Roo but instead at Glastonbury would be a dream come true!!!! Know it is a million to one chance but a man can dream!
@@lukeclover3420 Hmm interesting question. The exact answer is I do not know for sure but based on my experience it isn't massive but it isn't small either. They could do a run of 5k places and sell them out if it were only Euro residents going. Though we all know many Americans would make a holiday out of it and come over so they could easily have say a 12 date tour, 3 in London, 3 in Berlin, 3 in Paris, and 3 in Amsterdam and do very well.
What a weird venue, you can see highway signs from the stage! Those simple vamps like that at 9:22 give me those moments where I just slowly gaze across the lawn and marvel at everyone sharing in the groove. So simple, so universal, so unbeatably groovy
My daughters first show, on the eve of her 21st B-day! Took me back to Sugarbush '94 ( comet show) my initiation, some day I'll take a grandchild to their 1st!
Hey dedfish, no bullshit look at my name, and I too was at that sugarbush show. I had just gotten out of the Marines and I took my younger brother to it. That was such a great show. I was so fucked up. Thank god for younger brothers and long wait time for the busses
I wish I could agree. I’m an “older” phan as well and I never thought I could say a negative thing about them. I wish Trey would stop whispering the lyrics and go back to his old guitar tone. This song did rock once the jam kicked in.
I have to agree. As someone who started in 95, I felt like there was a period where I thought it just would never get as good as the mid 90s. But while the jamming isn't the 4 song setlist the playing has just gotten better. Trey has honed his craft like a phine wine. Woke up to this morning dancing and instantly in a great mood. I just wish I could see more shows.
I could hear this song from my house. :-) PS last saw Phish in 1995 or so? New Years Eve in Boston. Seeing them here, I'm amused a bit, Mike used to wear Wal Mart sweatpants and a dirty t shirt on stage, now he is wearing tailored fitted clothing and quite a posh haircut. Same for Trey. I like it.
Jonathan Wright 1995 NYE was 12/30 and 12/31 at MSG in NYC. The 12/30/95 show was my last show in 24 years until last week in Columbia MD. So much fun to relive old concerts and songs I don't know so well and rediscover phish via RUclips and www.phish.net. They played Worcester centrum for 12/28/95 and 12/29/95. Can't remember which of those I went to...
I really think Page is the only one getting better with age. His technique is tighter and he covers so much more ground on synth these days. Phish is still great but page is becoming more and more the star in my eyes.
The improvisation keeps getting better. No doubt there. I'm REALLY not liking how they're using nugs.net to squeeze every last bit of $ they can out of the phans though. I guess it's rise up and come together with all our money so they can has it.
It isn't cheap to have this many cameras filming with ultra hd cameras and the equipment to put it out cleanly. I do agree it could be cheaper but I think 10 for SD and 15 for HD would be ok.
@@TTWGD3 I understand the pricing scale for couch tour and I don't have a problem with them charging more and trying to make it great. Zero problems there. But they've changed the download codes to streaming only. Why can't I still download the show I just fucking paid to see? Why now can I only stream it? I have to buy it again if I want to download it?! God forbid you want to stream it away from home because you have to pay for the data to do that. So you're paying for it again. And you can't even stream them at home on your computer unless you subscribe. So now you have to pay for it again! How many fucking times am I supposed to pay for the same goddamned show? I spend all my vacation time and extra money to go see these guys, buy their albums and their merch and they keep trying to wring more out of us. If that doesn't piss you off then you have reached a strata of wealth I can't seem to attain. It's ironic that Fishman is a huge Bernie supporter but, when it comes to his money, capitalism is the shit.
Feeling the shrooms from 1999
I was there! absolutely amazing show

Maxell XLIIs forever!!!
Etree!
There are differences, but I see this as a golden age
Under rated show for sure
I think everyone there that night knew that this was a special one. Totally over the top.
Still the reigning heavyweight champs
I loved the face shredding coke fueled jams of the mid to late nineties, but 3.0 is a more mature yet still awe inspiring sound...

Does Phish have much of a following over in Europe?

love a bouncy Gin. It's all about Mike and Fishman holding that swing.
🍯 sweet
bubbly, as ever.
They keep getting better and better!
Mike way up in the mix where he should be. 🌵
When the rain falls from the sky, Phish turn on their own taps and let the jams flow free and easy!

It is a funny little venue, right in the middle of everything. Maine is my state :)
those are always the best moments. when you subconsciously know theyre cooking and you look around to make sure everyones paying attention
A riff that should be remembered

Love these guys so much!!!! Wish I was there :)
This was the highlight of the night for me I think. Plus The Dogs was great to finally see.
As an older phish phan I'm under the impression that they just keep getting better.
I wish I could agree. I’m an “older” phan as well and I never thought I could say a negative thing about them. I wish Trey would stop whispering the lyrics and go back to his old guitar tone. This song did rock once the jam kicked in.
Hell yes they keep getting better. It's nuts.

I am 48 and I totally agree with you.
I want to play with that lighting rig~
thank you. thank you. thank you for sharing this w/ the masses. Rage Side Page Side and this video is solid evidence of the case. Houston Love
11:00 trey brings out that nasty tone reminds me of his '99 tone this gin kills!
wow. how many years of my life have i wasted before I heard this ?
These guys are great always but 2019 is the year of the Phish.

Please post the Bangor Cities
Its nice to hear Mike so high in the mix. The jam got nice and ethereal, until Page hit the B3 and then got down with some great jazzy groovyness~
Mike changed his hand positioning too recently, which he explained on his IGTV channel. More pop, same flow.
Jews are jewing
See you at SPAC! Last show I had tickets for was Curveball QQ
Love to take a bath

You'll go to more, and get your Gin!

CANNOT WAIT TILL TOM NIGHT! !ST TIME ALPINE VALLEY SHOWS. HAD TO BRING IT UP NORTH. NO ATLANTA RUN THIS YEAR. SEE YOU BRO
I will say i talked some shit over the last couple of years. It was as if Trey forgot some of the magic. It is back for sure. This tour Rocks!
totally agree, I was hating on Phish for the last few years but they have been on fire
Yep. This is where I parked my car.
12:17 fishman and mike start to kick back into the gin groove to finish it but trey keeps noodling along and rips it for another 2 minutes. tight.
Headbob from Heaven 😎🤷🏻♂️😂🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
you would think that kings are polite. impolite kings are new.

I would love to but just can't afford it :(
Wait...why do they "webcast" the show but don't webcast it?!
Edit: Fantasma de Alpharetta
They tease set openers as to entice you to purchase the whole show
