Awe...now I see the light!! Thank you for first going through the wrong way and showing us what is happening and how to fix it! Wonderful step-by-step lesson! I am new at rowing and thought about buying bungee chords to wrap around my feet! I will try the warm-up first! Thank you!! 😆
Fix at 5:45 that made me realize i was rowing wrong since day one. Now its definitely more fluid, I can reach 15" on 8, I'm happy with this progress. Thanks.
Thanks. I totally agree :) I actually. have one but been having trouble connecting it to some of my cameras. Just got a new lav mic end of last year so hopefully better sound more consistently coming. Thanks :)
I have been literally tucking the straps into my shoelaces to keep them from slipping. I had no idea I was using my toes so much! Some people at the gym said “wow my legs are so sore after that rowing workout today”, and I thought to myself “hmmm the only thing that’s sore is my calves and my lats” hahaha. Thank you for the video!
@@TheRowingDoc So much better :) The straps at my gym are worn out and would get loose constantly due to poor form, but now doing it correctly and not using my feet as leverage they stay perfectly on for the whole session
I think it depends on what is causing the feet falling out, if you mean the straps are coming loose, then yes, definitely worth a shot. Remember just start gentle so you don't fly off the seat. Hope it helps!
Hey Stuart. If you can't tighten it more...grow your foot? haha not sure I understand the question. Tighten as much as you can, but if it's too loose then you have to try working with the mechanics of the strap. But the techniques in this video are designed to help so you don't have to tighten it as much. Not sure if that helps.
Sorry, now I think I understand...like if you row barefoot it can't reach your foot? You could try a smaller strap, but sometimes where they attach to the footplate, it doesn't make them go lower to the footplate. Does that make sense?@@stuartmcghee1873
Hey Katie. Sorry that you weren’t happy with the fix part. I find that understanding why it's happening usually helps. If you have more questions about the fix I’d be happy to send you more info. Is there something your unsure of or have questions about?
Hey Kari. I hope it helps. I do know of someone who has replaced their entire footplate with a setup like that. I do not believe there is one for sale like that, so you would have to create it. But in the actual boats, they are shoes that are like that or screwed into the footplate, so the concept is there, it's just not a big thing on the rowing machine. But if you create it, please feel free to share, would love to highlight your ingenuity for people!

Great walkthrough, thank you for the tips! I'll definitely incorporate the no strap row into my warmup!
You're welcome! Hope it helps.
Thank you Amanda. Was looking for this one s and found you. Suggest a lav mic to help audio quality. Awesome vid regardsless. Subbing now.

@@Guel_Martins That's amazing! Congratulations. :) Happy rowing.
I was getting aggravated that my feet were falling out all of the time. Think this will help me. Thank you.

Thanks helped a lot
Yeah how do you fix it when you can’t tighten the strap anymore

@@TheRowingDoc Is there such thing as a smaller length strap to purchase??
Actually yes!! Straps come in 24/30 inches.

I Will try this but is there such a thing as like bike shoes for spin bike that can be used on a rower..
