Lovely bike, great concept and aesthetics! The price is amazing for what you’re getting!! You are spot on regarding the Honda badging plastered all over the bike, it’s overkill for sure. However, I am having a love ❤️ affair with my ‘22 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT! Great review, thank you.
"In the v-twin world, Honda means bad" - what a strange statement. Among old-school Harley riders, any metric brand is bad, but to anyone else Honda means "good".
yes, because nobody will know it's a honda if it doesnt say it on the bike.. brand loyalists and people looking for a 'life style" over riding dont ride much anyway and this comes from a guy that likes all brands and currently rides the brand im referring to...
Why is a Honda not loved for being a Honda? Here in Europe were Aprilia,Ducati ,bmw,KTM and many more brands are originating, Honda is reigning supreme in terms of compromise, quality and reliability!(compromise because they might not be the best in each segment but they are good enough for many things at once)
I have a 2022 honda shadow areo wnd love it. I can cruse at 80 mph all day with ease. I'm not trying to impress no one. I buy what makes sense to me and what I like. If you don't like it, That's your problem, not mine.
In the vtwin world honda=bad! 🤣 insert Peter Parker's boss's laugh. I guess USA will never forget Pearl Harbor and thus inspiring the same disgust to their new generation. This bike couldn't be more American looking and feeling, it only has abs, no other electronics, not even a fuel gauge. Wish Japan would make cars like this still. Just a 2 l engine with abs, nothing else, no turbo to ruin the life of your engine, no complicated parts that no one can fix even in a shop.
Three valve engine like my '86 shadow 500 which was a little over 400 lbs. My first bike was a new '86 Honda Shadow 500($2600)with a candy apple red paint job. Bright Aluminum alloy wheels. Bright aluminum sissy car with a mini storage bin. Air shrader valve adjustable front forks that were tricky to get the right pressure for the right ride and was dangerous because on an undulating curve the bike would walk you into the oncoming lane if you weren't on top of things. Now if they'd make the exhaust pipes chrome a long with the headlamp shell and forks and wheels and engine on this or at least black chrome then it would look good. Back in '87 when I bought it,it wasn't a desirable bike compared to a Harley. Top speed was 87 mph. I turned it back in to the Honda dealership after I set my heart on getting a '88 883 Hugger($3999) which had one inch shorter rear shocks so that I could place both feet on the ground while sitting at stoplights. Before that I tried to trade it in for a 883 at Charlotte Harley Davidson but they laughed me out of the building. I vowed never to do business with them ever again but I went to Carolina Harley Davidson and did business with them. Click(owner)and his wife were nice people
I huge a thumbs up but where are you hearing that the “branding” of the logo hurts sales? 41 years of selling seems pretty good. If Indian or Harley or BMW can do it why not them? It’s not a negative with all the positives. I don’t think Not-Buying is a real issue. Either you want it or not AND customize to make it yours!
I’m look at this because the idiots a Harley discontinued their venerable entry-level bike: Sportster 883. Harley only wants to sell high-end models but that’s not gonna work for them. When my wife & I go to upgrade, now we wont be looking at even more high-end Harley’s. Traditional Harley customers are migrating to Indian.
Got one in '99, (750 ACE)and it served me well for a couple years, then a Kawi Concours, and THEN a 2003 Shadow Sabre 1100. That Puppy served me well for 10 years. I've had a '79 CBX, a couple Triumph's, and numerous other street and dirt bikes. and I'm STILL not jaded enough not to put this scoot in my garage. It's that sweet looking.
@@joeblow5037 I wanted to see if Honda did anything to make this bike of interest or if it's still largely unchanged and painfully dull as it has been for the last decade. I came, I watched, I learned that not much changed. Why are you so concerned with how I spend my time?
Cool. Lots of them for sale that are used. Don’t know if they have fuel injection though. When is the hornet coming to town? It’s the same with my Indian, it let you know everywhere what it is
Bought my 2023 all black model and put on V&H shorty pipes. Took off mirrors and use only left side small mirror. I ride on Big Island, so no real 2 lane stuff mostly. Only really one lane per side. Anyways.....Honda made the best one in black and the 2023 model is their very best.
I bought one. I like the bike because it's pretty, and that's pretty much the only reason I like it... but I don't love it. It's big, it's heavy, it's difficult to work on, some design decisions about it you're just banging your head against a brick wall wondering why... for example, the vacuum operated fuel petcock that can fail, the keys danging off the side, the kickstand safety switch, the rear foot pegs way up high where your back feet cant shift to them to dissipate a leg cramp, you have to constantly be cleaning up the bike and polishing it, the lack of included luggage carrying cargo capacity, the lack of an overdrive 5th gear indicator, the lack of a fuel gauge even though the gas cap is right there one could sit into, the fact the fenders are made out of plastic which scratches easy, the fact that it's absolutely no frills at all, the fact your right leg gets warm in winter right over both pipes, but your left leg freezes, the fact that tires for it... are expensive (compared to my Rebel), the fact that you can't push start it without risking your neck.
@@georgeharsin6292 I'm actually comparing against my 1982 Honda CM450 and 1985 Honda Rebel CMX250.. back when Honda designed bikes to be like Hondas, not Harleys
Stop reading my mind. Maybe a bit higher ground clearance, just a bit, and better suspension. You know a rebel 1100 would be a great one as is a bit lighter. I'll probably try in the future when I'm gonna buy one.
If you want reliability, you can’t beat a Honda. This 61 year old former MX racer who’s had more bikes than I can remember can attest to Hind’s reliability.
I like cruisers, but I don't get why people would want this bike. It's very anemic in the power stats. It's pretty heavy for what it is. Price is not "amazing" considering all the other bikes around for 10K or less. How about a 4 cylinder power cruiser like the Magna was? How about an 1100+ CC version? To me, there isn't anything interesting about this bike. It basically the same bike for the last 10+ years. Big whoop. Don't know why anyone would consider this bike when the market is flooded with used shadows for a much lower price. If Honda wants me to spend MY money on a new bike, it needs to be something WAY less vanilla.

For some reason Honda sells this instead of the Hornet 750 in the U.S.
