Just love how their albums have a story and a message hidden throughout the whole thing. Guised under stellar hyms that rock the heavens. Starset would be the first piece of music I'd show to aliens.

Literally stumbled across Starset this week. Wow. I'm not sure how this escaped me but thankfully there's a good bit of material out there I missed so it's allll new to me. Lovely stuff.

Thanks for not pulling this down Starset. Ended up buying the album because I heard it contained amazing music here.

This album as a whole is nothing short of incredible. For me specifically, Manifest, Perfect Machine, and Telekinetic.
Telekinetic is one of their best tracks

I like to listen to music while I work at school and normally if I wanted to listen to this particular album I had to go to SoundCloud because they don’t have the full album up on their channel. After hear them the first time, I listen to them ( almost) exclusively at work for MONTHS.
Every songs lyrics are highly intuitive and deserving of interpretation.

My imagination has been running wild ever since I started listening to this.
A story is brewing up in my mind about an orphaned teenager with aphasia, who lost his left leg in a terrible accident when he was young.
Lazarus (Laza, as his friends and family called him) had always been under the love and affection of his family and friends.
But one day, he longed for an answer to a question about himself and his childhood, a problem that can't be solved with the Brain Machine Interface, hence the words, "I seek to know the truth."
If you read through all of this, then now you know my OC's backstory, and how it fits into this album.
I'm thinking about writing a Wattpad story about him in the world of all the music this band makes.
And, being “capable of unique thought”, he sets off on a journey of self-discovery and belonging.

As snow blanketed the buildings that stood amongst the streets of the New West, Laza snuggled up near the fireplace in the orphanage with a mug of his favorite hot cocoa, steaming hot and ready to be cooled.
He blew into it gently, feeling the warmth radiate around him as he took a sip.
He frowned gloomily as he knew he had to spend Christmas without his parents. "Mama... Papa... where are you?"
"Looks like the whole audit and supplication thing's gotten into your head, huh, little bro?"
"It's not that thing, Luna... although that worries me a lot," he replied in a somber tone. "It's just that we haven't celebrated Christmas like this ever since our parents disappeared."
Luna put her arms around her brother's neck in a warm embrace. "It's alright, Laza. What matters is we're always together."
Laza blushed at his sister's kind words and smiled, knowing that they would sing carols and eat fruitcake all day long.

That outro pretty much sums it up for me even though lyrically throughout it can be interpreted in a few different ways. Initially I thought it was about a narcissist presenting themselves to be someone they're not in order to manipulate the other into a submissive partner. The theme is still pretty similar in the interpretation I have of it now. The "perfect machine" is the government's/media/social media that has the whole world essentially subdued with endless distractions and pleasures, making sure people toe the party lines by making it seem like "red hates blue, blue hates red" sensationalizing everything they can to drive the wedges between parties/classes deeper, deflecting accountability for all their shady shit with "the next big story" to keep the masses angry at each other or sucked into their own little virtual world. Just my take
